Warthogs Activate Carlos Lee; News on Stumm By Jason Gage June 12, 2004 FutureSox.com The Winston Salem Warthogs activated catcher Carlos Lee on Thursday. The move was made in response to B.J. Lamura's promotion (as mentioned in another FS article) to Birmingham. Carlos Lee had been on the disabled list since May 26th with an injured right knee. He is hitting .159 with 4 RBI in 69 at bats. Other News: In other news, Warthogs RHP Jason Stumm has been on the disabled list. He was feeling discomfort in his shoulder and is scheduled to come back in a couple weeks. Stumm's career with the White Sox has been injury riddled to say the least. The 15th overall selection in the 1999 draft has struggled to stay healthy. He has had numerous shoulder and elbow problems, which have hampered the talented righty. Prior to the injuries, Stumm was known as a hard throwing pitcher that could reach the upper 90's. He's pitched in just 87 games since joining the organization in 1999.

Its an especially good book. I recommend it to any baseball fan, especially if your a big baseball fan.

I noted that outing in the minor league thread but should also note it here. He's really been doing a very good job this year in the spot starts or long relief situations. He's doing a good job for the Barons and I hope that sucess can help translate to an eventual promotion to Charlotte and hopefully one day a promotion to the majors. Keep up the good work Bull

If they got Carlos, I'd hate to say it, but I'd probably move Magglio unless the Sox felt comfortable getting a deal. Then I'd say the Sox should try their best to lock up Beltran.

I'd say a mix between school/work and friends. When I say friends it more meeting girls through friends and then picking them up on your own, not in the sense of being set up. Say for example you go to a party and you bump into a few friends and they are like with someone u don't know and they are like this is so and so. Typically though school usually works best for me.

Didn't Day have some injury concerns? Other then that he's a pretty damn good young pitcher. I've always been a fan of his and he'd look great in Sox pinstripes.

No, I think the Sox know they need a front line starter to go deep in the playoffs as well as to better their chances of making the playoffs. However, if Munoz does good, you may see him moved to the bullpen following the trade and then him and Cotts would fight for the 5th spot next year. Plus, it seems like Cotts may be the guy on the way out when they make the trade, most teams seem to be interested in him.

Ya, it is definately a late breaking curve. One that doesn't start to really bite till very close to the plate, which is why its so freaking nasty. Damn thing just falls off the face of the earth. Of course seeing him in Arizona doesn't really do wonders since the breaking pitches don't break well there. Despite that it still looked very good to me.

When I saw it in spring, it seemed like a big breaker that usually went out of the strike zone or hit the bottom part of it. The only time I've seen him pitch was in spring though, so I don't know if he was working on something or not. I'm assuming thats the same curve he always throws cause he was throwing the same thing in the bullpen session.

Only seen him a few times so I couldn't tell ya, but thats a major plus if he is.
