We'd like the new Sox site (When one eventually happens) to be everything SoxNet was, such as the News and commentaries and then stuff above and beyond that. We'd like to get some historical type stuff up and all that good stuff. It will take some time, but first we have to cross the "legal" hurdle to make sure we can do it without being sued.

I live in Orange County, more specifically Irvine. Where are your parents from?

What Ian said...although nothing is final. Hopefully we'll know something pretty soon. Most likely, eventually a site under a new name will come up.

In this case I think Arod deserved it. If there was another near qualified candidate alongside him that helped lead his team to the playoffs, then I'd go with that player. In this instance I think Arod was the superior player and therefor he deserved the award. For example in 98 I thought Sosa deserved the award over BigMac because Sosa helped carry his team to the post-season, while Mark didn't. Sosa also had more RBI's and a better avg if I recall.

We hope to roll out Sweaters and Tshirts around the holiday season During Thanksgiving Break, I'm gonna unveil a contest to create Soxtalk's logo. We figure Soxtalk needs some type of logo that can appear on all the shirts and sweaters since we can't use any type of Sox logo on there. Whoever wins will get a free shirt or sweater or something like that.

AIM crew tells me its from someone in some type of Aol Chat. I don't have a clue, but I don't really do too many chats.

Where the hell did that go. Ah crap, when I updated the board, one of the generic smilies was named the same thing as it and it saved over it. Does anyone happen to have a link where I can get it. I think Steff is who found them the first time.

And Jauron should be benched too. He was quoted and never once said Dez didnt' do the right thing. He simply said if he broke the tackle then people would of been all happy. What an idiot Jauron is. Dez also said he wouldn't of been able to get out..thats bs. I could of been in crutches and got out of bounds

I don't go to University of Illinois but I am a business major. One thing I would recommend is just going to the campus and going to the advisement center and ask the people their some questions and just go around the business building and ask some students outside what they think of the school and all that type of stuff. You'd meet some of the people that go there and get an idea about the school. You could also call up a bigger business around your area and ask for a recruiter and see what business schools they like to hire out of. Some may not be willing, but I hear most are very willing to help you out. I am kind of wondering what exactly people in my major do (I know part of it, but was curious as the day to day crap) so I asked my acct teacher and she's setting me up with this thing where I cna go into the company for a day or two and just see what exactly CPA's do and all that crap. Although I'm not likely to be a CPA, other then simply have the liscense to do it. Go SCHOOL

He did do good the last two starts two seasons ago or something like that. I remember him pitching very good against Minnesota until the bottom of the 5th or 6th when he left a pitch up and got it creamed. Despite that he flashed a pretty nasty curve, the problem is until they have to worry about the slider as another out pitch and the fastball, the hitters can lay off his curve and then swing at his heater, which is mediocre at this point...although I heard in August it started improving. When I was in Charlotte, I was told his velocity and stuff were nothing like they were pre-injury. But they did say he had improved in a lot of areas and that he was finally getting healthy. So I don't think the Sox saw the "healthy, 100%" Jon Rauch last year. Whether he will ever be 100% or not who knows, but maybe he finally reached that point late late last season.
-
The key with Rauch is getting the fastball to the point where hitters have to think about it sneaking up on them. He can do this by getting his slider back where it used to be. He just started throwing it again and its a top pitch, just like his curve. Mix that with his developing change and if he's truly got his velocity back into the low 90's he could do it. His control has been very solid so that is a bright spot. I think he's got a shot.

Will do...should be done in a few minutes

When I'm doing homework...I always stumble onto Soxtalk and get detracted from what I was planning on doing. I have this habit at laughing my absolute ass off when someone falls or gets hurt. I know it sucks they get hurt, but I can't help but laugh.

We need to ask Alex how to do a poll with more then 10 responses. I don't know how to do it, but I know we did it one time. I remember the Sex Lies and Politics poll had a ton of names.

I went with Colon...he's the best out there. Vazquez would be nice, but his arm scares the heck out of me. He seems like an injury waiting to happen.

MURCIE J For those that are unaware of Murcie, otherwise known as Mark. He was an admin for us for a long time, and the right hand man of Mario and I. No longer will he be our right hand man, but a part of the Soxtalk TEAM. Alex, Mark, and I will be running things as a team and of course we couldn't do it without everyone else that helps out. Mark brings a special attitude that I think only Mark has. Not only is he hillarious, but he brings great ideas and confidence to the table. Of course Mario is also part of this brain trust, and one day we hope to build a new White Sox News Site, one better then before. Anyway its great to have Mark back

Haigwood and Rodriguez are both studs. I hope the two of them can get healthy and find themselves back on the fast track. With Haigwood you are right, it was something non throwing related.
