I just picked it up. Played one game and it seems pretty cool. Hard as hell to play defense, but the pass mode is really nice. Seems like a big upgrade over last years thus far. I also like the training mode. In last years game there was that madden cruiser feature (With the Contests) well in this years game you do the contests with one player and if you do good you can improve their rating. Haven't gotten to the owner features yet.
  2. Wow...sounds like a cool feature..gonna have to check this out

Thanks BMR and everyone else. We hope the site will keep getting better and better in the future.
  4. Cotts is the 2nd best in the system. Honel is flat out amazing. Behind those two its Wing (Another lefty who impressed the hell out of me when I saw him pitch; also has an amazing pickoff move). I do think that Cotts is going to be very good though. I don't know how anyone can write him off after one game. Jason, did you see Honel this year? I have had some scouts tell me that he hasn't impressed them much this year. Said he topped out at 86 mph a game or two. I have never seen him pitch, so I have nothing to input here. Just wondering if anyone else has seen him, or even better, seen him multiple times? I watched him once. Knuckle curve was ridiculously good and his fastball was hitting 93 consistently when I watched him. On a sidenote thats what Deininger was hitting when we saw him in Kanny and he really impressed me.
  5. .444 AVG this month. Hopefully he can come up with some big hits tonight to get the Sox offense rolling against the guy I felt the Sox should of acquired (Scott Shields).

Will say it here too...since I missed this one. Happy Birthday Anthony
  7. Agreed. Yes this site has free reigns, but thats because I think people should be able to say what they want. If something isn't PG then thats the case. When the Sox play a really crappy game, why not be able to say s***. The one thing I don't like are personal attacks. Sometimes things get out of hand, but when you have as many posters and different viewpoints ocassionaly things get out of hand. Overall I feel this is a great community with a ton of diehard Sox fans and that makes this fun. People can not only talk Sox baseball, but they can talk about other things as well (Off Topic). Sorry to see those that go. I think your good Sox fans and I enjoyed some of the Sox discussions we had.
  8. Guys and Gals I got no idea what happened the past two weeks or so, but if some s*** came out lets forget about it and move on and talk about the Sox taking the division (it will happen).
  9. Lol...I just want to feel special

My roommate has it so i'm holding off on getting it - he's got that, i have NCAA 2004, which i like better anyways. NCAA is tight. It will be going to the backburner when I get Madden though. May pick it up after work. That or I'll just show up at my friends house
  11. Hope you have a really Happy Birthday

Anyone here pick up Madden yet? My buddy picked it up and he told me it absolutely rules.
  13. Oh ya Cap...I'm sorry to say but I wasn't impressed with the Carolinas. Very pretty but what is up with the rain. Every day get up and look out and its gonna rain today. What kind of summer is that?
  14. yeh we get them reeeally discounted. $0 for 7 games Thats what we get for baseball
  15. I dunno...I'd say a lot of people will be going to the hospital with some eye injuries
  16. LMAO. I know it wouldn't be funny, but as long as no one got hurt, a part of me would be kinda laughing even if I know it would be wrong to.

I just live at home so I dont' have any horror stories. Hell, my school only has like 100 dorms. So when does everyone start back up. August 27th for me
  18. Dang this is some weird stuff. If it stays dark at night I wonder how many people will be looting.
  19. Washburn had his A game last night. Sox were robbed of a run that inning (5th?) when Rowand ripped what would of been a one out double and then Alomar followed that up with what would of been an RBI base hit up the middle (Neither guy got on). Still Sox failed to get another run in and that was their fault. I'm not gonna gripe, Sox need to move on and concern themselves with this next one and leave the West Coast 2-2 on this set and take care of business against the Rangers.
  20. Agreed. Mario and I got into a debate on the trip in regards to closers. We both think its stupid for a team to have a closer if they dont' have one really awesome pitcher. If your closer is mediocre and you have a few mediocre guys, play the matchups. The thing is still have one or two guys that you call the closer (So they know their roles) but flip them back and forth and let them know they aren't always gonna close, sometimes they will set up, etc. Basically I like things the way the Sox do it with Marte/Gordon. If you have Gagne or Smoltz then you don't do that or even to a lesser extent a healthy Koch (i do think this has been bothering him all year).
  21. Good stuff..can anyone tell me when Stumm got called up to Birmingham?

  23. I'll take Adkins and Wright over him.
  24. Quick, lets sign him and trade him to the Yankees for Jeff Weaver.
  25. The big thing is I don't think the Sox want to strip the Barons chances of going to the postseason. I also don't think that Pacheco is ready. I'm sure the Sox want to give him another year of AAA, especially since this has been his coming out party. You also have to note that Adkins has pitched extremely well in a hitters park. He's been more dominant as the season has went by and when I was in Charlotte I heard some really good things about him and some awesome things about Wright and Rios (Their attitudes namely). Adkins earned this callup. I'm guessing once Ginter can be called up, you may see him replace Adkins, but thats me speculating.
