  1. Lol, were the Yankees of the AL Central with our 50 or 60 mill payroll.
  2. I like Rupe quite a bit. Kid has a great curveball and a live arm. I do agree Nanita has been a real bright spot thus far and he has the tools and its great seeing Anderson who is about as 5 tool as it get do real good thus far. Plus Sweeney has loads of talent too.
  3. You see how Bryan Anderson hit for the cycle yesterday Mike?
  4. That was the full list and a few of those players are on the A list and I think 5 are on the B list. I'm assuming Webster, if he is in fact on the list would be an A guy.
  5. I thought it was a very good move and in all honesty in definately narrows the gap between the Twins and Royals. I think if the Sox play to their level they are in another league. But they have to play fundmentally sound baseball, do the little things, etc.
  6. In regards to Konerko he is my favorite player on the White Sox. The only reason I advise trading him is because I think his 8 million a year salary will really be a thorn to the low budget Sox. If JR doesn't let PK's salary effect him then I don't have a problem keeping him. Ponson isn't weak though. ERA is under 4 and he is on pace to win 20 games and can give innings. He's got a dynamite arm and I am alwasy a fan of having lots of pitching.
  7. Well we know the Sox had interest in Vazquez earlier in the year.
  8. I'm going to be asleep, so I'll have no idea who did it. Hope someone is paying attention around that time
  9. Ya...but I was just thinking shocker and the fact that if you think about it, Crede is one of the weaker points, even though I'm a big Crede backer. Troy Percival? Ugie Urbina?
  10. Ok, if its a shocker, could it be Mike Lowell.

We will sign him. All indications are that he wants to play professional baseball and wants to sign with the Sox. I think it will happen in the next two weeks or after his highschool season.
  12. When thinking about it, the plus is Webster is from an area where he won't contribute for a long time as he is a raw outfielder playing in A ball, meaning anything can happen. The Sox also had an awesome draft with outfielders this year and Anderson and Sweeney do rank ahead of Webster in all around capabilities, imo. Well in terms of offensive potential. Although I am high on Webster. Like I say, I just thought we could of got more.
  13. Very true. I don't say this was horrible in the sense of giving up prospects. The best part is they are low level guys, and its really hard to gauge this type of players at that point.
  14. I agree to wait. I only say that value wise the Sox could of got more then Everett with this package. But this is proposed, nothing for sure. I can only hope Webster isn't a part of it. I would think the Sox would think of him as a top 10 prospect.
  15. I'm with you on that. Only thing I think is that they are givng up too much. I have no problem giving up prospects, especially lower level ones since so few pan out. I also know that the Sox have a ton of depth in the lower levels. Diaz, Malone and Yan would make me a lot happier though. I just think with this package the Sox could of done better. Hell, with Webster involved, how much more would it really of took to land Beltran.
  16. He isn't gone yet. And the Rangers really don't need another bat. So I would not be suprised if they DON"T pick him That is true...Rupe is really good and Rupe, Diaz Malone would give them some talented arms. I could really live with that. I also realize with the drafting of Anderson, King and Sweeney the Sox do have a ton of outfield prospects meaning that Webster is expendable, but he is in my mind the 2nd best prospect in the org (Behind Honel) and well Everett is good, he isn't worth this type of package. Before I go nuts, I will say that this isn't official until things get made. I'm guessing if they take Webster they only get two.
  17. I guess the thinking was that he's still very young and Jeremy Reed is playing well in CF and we are going to plan on him being our CF of the future. I was thinking thats what they are thinking too...still he isn't one they should deal. Let it be Spidale instead.
  18. Dear god....are they nuts. Webster on that list. Why the hell is Rauch ranked ahead of them. Glad to see Cotts off of it, but Webster is a 5 tool guy thats hitting and has a future with the Sox. I will go nuts if he is a part of it. I like Rupe and some others a lot as well as Yan, but please tell me it isn't Webster. Diaz, Malone and someone like Rupe would make me happier (Rupe is damn good by the way). Rangers would be getting a killing if this is the list. 3 top 15 guys pretty much guaranteed depending on things.
  19. Heres a scouting report written about him by Futuresox/Soxnet/Soxtalk about a month ago. 5. Neal Cotts, 23 - LHP, SP - Birmingham Barons (AA) 2003 (Birmingham-AA): 7-2, 2.11 ERA, 59.2 IP, 85 K, 37 BB 2002 (Modesto): 12-6, 4.12 ERA, 137.2 IP, 178 K, 87 BB 2001 (Visalia): 3-2, 2.32 ERA, 31.0 IP, 34 K, 15 BB 2001 (Vancouver): 1-0, 3.09 ERA, 35.0 IP, 44 K, 13 BB Cotts was originally drafted by the Oakland A?s in the 2nd round out of Illinois State University, and was acquired from the A?s in the Koch-Foulke deal. Last season for Modesto (A), he showed why Ken Williams and others think so highly of him - he struck out 178 batters in 138 innings (or 11.6 KO?s per nine innings). He also limited opponents to a collective .239 AVG. Just looking over these lines, you would think he was a flame-thrower, but Cotts isn?t. His fastball occasionally touches 90, but it has tremendous movement. Cotts relies mainly on his fastball and plus change-up. He does an excellent job keeping hitters off balance by changing speeds and locations. Late last season, Cotts added a curveball to his repertoire that is quickly developing into a very good pitch. The keys to Cotts? success will be the development of this third pitch and improving his overall control (87 walks last season). If Cotts can reduce his walks, he will shoot up the list, potentially becoming the Sox? best left-handed pitching prospect ? a fact which, in and of itself, says a lot. Cotts has gotten off to a quick start in Birmingham (AA) this year: he?s 7-2 with 85 strikeouts in just 59.2 innings. Neal is on the disabled list for precautionary measures and should be back in action in the next week or so. As long as he?s healthy he has a shot to get promoted to Charlotte sometime later this year and could find himself on the South Side of Chicago as a September call-up.

I'm gonna go watch it tomorrow. Now I'm expecting it to be damn good.
  21. I will be buying plane tickets from southwest and trying to buy world series tickets on ticketmaster.com I guess the one perk to me working so many damn hours this summer is I'd have money saved up just in case.

    I'm still pumped.
  23. The main pitchers I didn't want included are: Wing, Rauch, Honel and Cotts. Anyone besides those guys I wouldn't be too upset with. I agree with Jas, I think Malone will probably go and another name I could see going is Arnie Munoz or possibly Josh Stewart. I heard someone say that yesterday on the radio there was mention it would be Munoz, Malone and another. Dont' know if there is any truth to that.
  24. Chisoxfn replied to hi8is's topic in Pale Hose Talk
On that? I sure do. Did you hear the details of that injury? Sadly, I think his career may be over. Right now I just hope he can have a normal life, if he can come back and play basketball at a great level, thats a plus.
  25. Well I'm guessing they are basing it on the Sox scouts top 10. Lets also remember that Malone was pretty high at one point. I think Malone is almost guaranteed to be in this deal and will be the 3rd player if the Sox pay off. Then you'll see two decent guys go and none of our best. Just a guess.
