  1. You'd still have 4 righties in a row. Garland, Wright, Loiaza and Colon.
  2. Maybe we get lucky and to be honest fellas, I'm kind of doubting Jon Rauch a bit. I love his curveball and I've yet to see him pitch yet. I liked him last year but this guy shouldn't be struggling. Then again, curve ball pitcher struggle in Arizona and Rauch's best pitch has to be the curve. None of his other pitches really have great movement so he has to rely on command and other things. Hopefully he's gonna get things in gear. As far as Loiaza goes, this sounds good. I wonder if he's throwing softer for some reason. I remember Matthew mentioning that Loiaza threw in the mid 90's. Either way, maybe the Sox get lucky with Loiaza. The guy has good stuff and is a veteran, now would be about the time to put everything together
  3. For those watching it on tv, how is Loiaza stuff looking? What else is he throwing besides his hard fastball?
  4. I got to go with none of the above and picking up another pitcher. With a #4 as a ? and a ? of a #5 it just wouldn't be worht it. I'd talk to Finley, but I wouldn't want to lose a draft pick. Then I'd turn to a pitcher that has fallen out of liking or a team that is just looking to cut payroll and hope JR was willing to add it. Maybe take all of Vazquez's contract and give them two pithcing prospects. For anyone else, if we take on their contract, then we give up nothing but some bums in return cause thats how the trading has worked thus far this offseason.
  5. Sidney Ponson. The Orioles are looking to dump him and he hasn't really lived up to his hype. I think they could figure a way to get him if needed.
  6. ive never seen kelly over 84 myself..ive seen him as low as 79 and even a 76 in there as well... hes not a high number tosser.......i dont ever recall him breakin 90...............he may have but ive never seen it........ He just relies on his good movement and control as well as the delivery. Well if he's throwing 84 and can get guys out then its fine by me.

    Jersey Dilemma?

I'm 6ft so would a 44 be alright for me Cerb. I'm like 155 or so. god you must be a skinny little s*** Lol, its what you think, but I'm not really all that skinny. Right now I'm working on putting muscle mass on. A year ago, I was more like 170, but now have worked on getting cut and more ripped. I am not too ripped right now, lol. Just slowly but surely improving. I'm a lot quicker too now. The big thing was just not eating fast food anymore. In highschool I ate a lot of it, now I don't really touch the stuff. I'm getting my mile time back down into the 6's and stuff. Figure better start preparing for when I get old, lol
  8. Like Dan Wright wright wins 14 games his first full season as a starter and we are gonna move him to the pen???..please..neither should go to the pen but garland should go before wright Baggs, disagree. Garland really impressed me in spring training. His bullpen sessions were spectacular. So were Colon's. I like wright a whole lot and think he has front of the line stuff, but right now I'm scared big time about his health. Wright definately needs more time. No way do you put a guy that pitched darn good down the stretch last year and is just getting started. I'm with Baggs on Wright, always will be too I think. Last year baggs and I agreed on Garland being over-rated. This year he's improved a whole lot, imo. It started when Coop came here and he started throwing other pitches then just a fastball. whitesoxfan..thats cool jason...you'd have to seew right healthy before you can compare the two...last year i saw them both pitch twice...wright impressed me alot more..man i pray he didnt screw up his elbow...he 's got a great career ahead of him..as does garland...hopefully they both stay healthy because it will be fun to see which one does become the better pitcher Ya, I saw Wright pitch, mainly on tv, which doesn't say much, but I've watched him throw in the pen as well. The guy is very impressive. He started the one game I saw at Comiskey last year. I love his stuff. Great fastball, knuckle curve, good movement, and an improving change.
  9. Just remember this SI, he has never pitched in AA even, so this is a whole new level. I know what you mean though, but if you want to see guys panning out, look no further then Colon and Koch Also Jimenez!!
  10. What I like about him is his high k totals. Despite not being a power pitcher he was able to get so many k's which is a good sign for his "stuff". This guy hasn't even pitched in AA let alone against major league pitching, so I don't exactly expect him to dominate. At least I think he was pitching in High A ball last year.
  11. Dang, that wouldn't of been too bad. Portland wants a team bad. I've heard some people say that they may be the front runner, but baseball also wants to go down into some other areas, possibly Mexico and of course Puerto Rico.

  13. Mota should be suspended a real long time. This is ridiculous. Mota can get it up there (I'm talking 98 or so) and I don't know whether he was throwing that hard, but enough is enough. If your going to hit a guy, go for it, but you don't hurt them. Plus, what the hell are you throwing at a guy in a spring training game for. Gimme a break Mota. Plus, I'm sure Piazza is more pissed on this subject after the Clemens incident.
  14. I thought Wusnch could get it up on the radar a bit more, like 86-88. Don't quote me on that though.

  17. Ok everyone, the tempers have flaired to a point and now we all need to calm down. The political talk has gotten way too heated and I beg that when political topics come up, people stick to the issue, no personal attacks and all that type of stuff. We just all need to take a few deep breaths
  18. I agree with you 100%. He's got real good stuff and has made a huge transistion since being drafted in college. This kid was rushed like no other and has handled it very well, getting better each year and I think he'll do real good this year, as long as he's HEALTHY.
  19. ya know not that i want him in the 4th spot but.. i think that he and colon should be split by 1 or 2 spots anyhow.... why put your 2 best up back to back when you can spread out the wins instead??? jmho............ You don't want them split because the two will make eachother better when pitching back to back. They both have completely different pitching styles and one is a lefty the other a righty. Colon the power pitcher, Buehrle the guy with a ton of pitches that goes quick and uses his control. It will be real hard for teams to adjust to the contrasting styles. Neither cared who started first, Sox fans complained that Buehrle should be the #1 and thats what happened. Supposedly the pitchers new about it a long time ago.
  20. The one big reason the Valentine loss was big was we don't really have many right handed hard throwing relief prospects that are close. Now if we get Gary Majewski back, then we will have another to team up with the changeup-low 90 fastball pitcher Almonte. Still, its nice having a ton of lefties. Of course we have plenty of hard throwing starters out there, that could eventually move to the pen.
  21. I thought it was real interesting too. I learned a good deal from it and am looking forward to Chris's next segment.
  22. Heather, the terms that drove Rivals into the ground a while back were much different then this current crew. As Mario said we discussed this with them quite a bit. We entered the whole thing thinking there was no way we'd make the move, but after hearing it made so much sense. We could provide better content, update stuff quicker, get the stuff out on a more national level, and really make an even better place for all you guys and gals to get your info and talk White Sox baseball. Don't worry, if things ever turn out not to look good, we'll do all we can to get things set back in the right direction. We don't anticpate any problems like that. To make their story short, they weren't there when Rivals was smashed into the ground. This guys were the original founders of Rivals and were there during their in the beginning. Now they are founding this network and its going to be sweet or thats what we believe. The college and NFL segments are already huge and baseball is the next step.

  24. I noticed the same thing. I didn't see any quotes that really stated the obvious. It seemed to me like this guy giving an opinion on a few short words and what the context of the words were, we don't know.
