An Old Sore Subject
Ya, he went to the Giants. Of course for every trade like that, their is also the great one he made where we moved Lofton for Felix Diaz, who is a true stud.

OMG, you'd never guess who I just met last night!!
I"m assuming he's talking about JR. JR JR JR, you SUCK!!!!!!!!!

ESPN tells: Bears draft intentions
Ya, I've been hearing that too. It would be super sweet if Palmer fell to the Bears.

Lakers
They are playing good, but they will have to go through Sacremento and the Mavericks to get them and they wont' have home court advantage. BOOOH LAKERS

question about laws
Well I think the fact that he graduated early shows that he's more mature and gives them more reason to try him as an adult. The key is its a first offense and the question is whether he had the intent to sell it. If he was gonna sell it, he's screwed plain and simple, or thats my take on the situation. Lol, Kark, I love the Nate Newton analysis.

Check Out Soxnet.net
Ya, thats Clement all right. One thing for sure is the station is heavily biased as of now towards White sox news.

Joey Cora
The guy was super small too. It would be like Kenny Lofton on steroids

Brad Penny Claims He's Healthy
I don't like him as much as Colon, but I see reasons to get him instead of Colon, namely money. Penny has fantastic stuff, and his questionmark arm could let him come CHEAP!

Expos, White Sox deal broken down.
Thats for sure, no way would they add 20 million on. They are really hard pressed to add on 8. The Sox can't possibly do this deal if we get Tatis, of course if we take on Tatis, then I'd say its basically Brian West and a mid level prospect for Colon, cause the Expos would just be super happy they dumped all that payroll. Maybe JR is talking to Bud about ways he can help the Expos out and get a little extra cash from the new collective bargaining agreement.

question about laws
Nope...states love putting drug offenders in jail. 420, be careful what ya do and make sure you never sell the stuff. I'm far from a lawyer, but it just don't pay, imho.

"White Sox could make run at Colon"
I've been thinking the same thing Cerb. I notice how many innings he's pitched as a reliever and the Sox must be trying to stretch that arm out. Typically relievers don't throw a combined 110 innings or so in one season.

Valenzualan Winter League Cancelled
An Anti Government strike has led to the Valenzualan Winter League being cancelled. For more on the story go here http://espn.go.com/mlb/news/2003/0113/1491862.html I don't think the Sox had any players in this league.

Brad Penny Claims He's Healthy
http://espn.go.com/gammons/s/2003/0110/1490399.html Its real interesting to see that. I'd like to take a chance on Penny. Maybe the Marlins think their is no interest in him because of this latest scare and you could take on a pitcher thats got loads of potential and is very young and extremely cheap (YA JR, CHEAP!!!!) for a small price, maybe Matt Ginter, Brian West, and a PTBNL or Josh Paul. Of course, more will be known when he has his latest MRI.

Reds sign Paul Wilson
I will pitch for some porn, a PS2, and some Mountain Dew. During last year's season ticket holder party I stood behind second base and hit huge's glove on a fly as he stood on the warning track in left-center field. I'm working on dropping 30 lbs. before my team's season starts. Last year I still had some good stuff, but my fat-ass wilted in the heat and I fell apart after 3 innings. My 36-year-old arm has something left in it. Well, 3 innings, thats not much difference from what Parque could go after his surgery. You aren't left handed are ya?

Column: Shades of 2000?
I'd definately bring him in on a minor league contract and I'd also sign him for like 500k to 750 k. The way he played last year he should be willing to play with the Sox for basically free I think he's a much better pitcher then he showed, but I also don't see him coming back. It seems like KW is simply admitting his mistake and moving on, which is something I like to see a whole lot of out of a general manager.

"White Sox could make run at Colon"
I don't know. Its real hard to plan a trade to the exact date. Plus, if they want him, then get him now, its that simple. No point in standing around waiting and waiting. I don't think his value could get any lower then it currently is. Maybe JR (Since he's part of the comittee) knows things that we do not and that he'll basically have to be given up for free once a certain date comes and then he'll have KW go in and make the move.

Check Out Soxnet.net
420, I don't know where their is a popup, but if you tell us where it is we'll get rid of it. We don't ever want to have any popups. I can't stand the things and we never want the readers to have to stand for them either.

Great Article Matt. I like the comparison quite a bit. Of course I don't think Ritchie will be back.

Check Out Soxnet.net
Well, its the New Year and its time for a new and improved look at Soxnet.net. The site should be easier to read and has been built to hold more features, which will be released as we get closer to the season. Their is a new transactions section as well and an updated roster page. One of my favorite features on the new page is Records/Facts page which is currently up. Another awesome addition is the Yearly Stats page, which will be up later on in the week. Those two pages will fill Sox minds with knowledge about the history of the Pale Hose. Also new for the New Year is the about us page, which tells a short story of Soxnet and includes staff bios. Other improvements are an all around better look, imo, and new archive pages for stories. This is a site built for news and it now should be even easier to find all the recent reports and stories of your favorite team. Some features that will be coming soon are the Minor League Reports. We'll have our first one up again on Friday. Were also going to be releasing an improved archive for them so you can check up on previous reports. Once the season starts, minor league news will be pooring in, typically daily. As always Soxnet will provide everyone with quick SN Reports (Rumors, Trades, Stories, etc) as well as original commentaries and articles. The daily game recaps will be there as well for those who missed the game or parts of it. Advance scouting reports of all the players on the 25 roster will be added to the roster page along the way as well. Hope you all enjoy and if you have any suggestions, don't hesitate to ask us. A new graphic will be up on the main page in the next couple days as Ian puts the final touches on it. Thanks for reading and supporting this site. We couldn't do it without you all. From Everyone at Soxnet and Soxtalk.com
