  1. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Jan 18, 2017 -> 03:46 PM) You figured it out! You figured it out! Haha that was awesome though. Yeah, that was awesome. You nailed the excitement part.
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 18, 2017 -> 03:38 PM) Yep...I got the exact same feeling, that it was all over. In general though, I thought this was by far the worst season. Might be that I would have liked to see them interweve some other things into the last episode, that said, worst season of sherlock still is amongst the best season of any show ever (cause the show is so freaking fantastic). I read where the general belief is they probably will be back for another season, but the hiatus might be closer to 3 years. Seems like everyone generally wants to do it again and the ratings are obviously very strong, etc. Problem is, all of the key players have a lot of other near term committments.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 18, 2017 -> 10:44 AM) I agree that it had that feeling to it. Hopefully that isn't it, but at the same time, that is a great place to end it. Yep...I got the exact same feeling, that it was all over.
  4. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 18, 2017 -> 12:37 PM) Boston has young assets: Crowder, Smart, Bradley, Jaylen Brown. They also have Nets 1st this year in a swap. Also have Brooklyn's #1 pick in 2018 and LAC and Memphis' 1st round picks in 2019. If Boston wants Jimmy Butler, they can absolutely get it done. They need to pony up though. See, I'm not that interested in Crowder, Smart, or Bradley (unless we are spinning them to a 3rd team). Jaylen Brown I'd have some interest in (in the sense that he is younger so you have him on a cheap deal for longer). I obviously am interested in the picks, but even then, lots of uncertainty as to where they will fall out given the lottery. I'd need a lot from Boston to do it and if I'm getting Crowder / Bradley / Smart, I want another team lined up to get them and give me more high picks or guys more akin to Brown (recent draft picks who I have around on cheap deals longer...as your winning plan can only succeed, imo, if you can develop enough talent on rookie / cheap deals who you can supplement with some big name stars (while everyone is under rookie deals). Ideally you get a transformative player with one of those picks, but that is a major crapshoot given lottery, etc. If I had a Crowder, maybe I'm talking to the Lakers who see him as a better fit long-term vs. Russell (who maybe doesn't fit with Ingram who they seem to be grooming into a point forward). Russel is on my short list of guys that I think are attaintable who will at some point blow up. I think year three is going to be a good one from him. He's made major strides this year, but struggles a lot with consistency (and some of that is to be expected). Lakers may not be patient with him.
  5. As one of the last holdovers, I want to point out, that the more I look at the free agent market, etc, the more open I become towards the idea of tanking. I don't think the Celtics alone can provide the package we want, but they are probably the best destination spot for a Buckets trade (not saying we need to do it now, although you could), mainly because if I moved Butler, I'd want lots of high picks plus young players with lots of time left on cheap contracts. I hate the idea of giving up Butler, cause he's so freaking good and so cheap, but if we got the right offer, I'd be 100% on board at this point.
  6. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 01:45 PM) Vladimir Guerrero is the only player I've ever seen turn an intentional walk into a double. They were trying to pitch around him, and the pitcher threw the ball eye high and over the left handed batter's box, but Guerrero slapped it down the right field line for a double. He's also the only player I've ever seen hit a home run off of a ball that bounced before it got to home plate. One of my all time favorite players. So damn fun to watch.
  7. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 08:59 AM) I agree with this 100%. I hate him v the Bears but outside of that he is so f***ing good. I wish I could view the cubs like this I always liked watching Favre play too. Hated how he killed the Bears, but those two Packers QB's have been on my short list of favorite players to watch play.
  8. QUOTE (joejoedairy @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 07:32 AM) You can apply to be on on their website. I think they then ask you to submit a video saying your name, job, fun facts etc. They just want to make sure you are loud/energetic enough to be good on tv. If so, they invite you to come to one of their casting call things where you solve some sample puzzles and do a little mock show type thing. (again, they are most worried about how you'll be on tv. My wife is a teacher so she had no problem with that part) I'm going to guess the person who claims he "hates people" isn't going to be the rah rah energetic guy on film. But maybe I'm wrong, haha. Maybe littlehurt has a switch that he can flip.
  9. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 10:27 AM) You can definitely install lastpass on multiple devices. I don't share with my wife so can't comment on that. Might need two lastpass accounts for that but I would check into it. Yes, you can have it auto populate your logins across any device and it plays nicely with fingerprint scanners on phones. Whenever I sign up to a new site, lastpass will prompt whether I want to generate a new password and save the site. The beauty is in creating the password. You can have it generate up to a 100 character password and of course you never have to remember it. It's quite easy to use. I'm aware of their hack. I went ahead and changed my master password right away. Probably a good idea to change that one periodically. Just started playing around with it and it looks great. And best part, it seems that I can just slowly build up the "database" of stuff as I visit various places.
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 10:14 AM) I use lastpass. I have the premium version which is relatively inexpensive but they have a free version you can check out. I basically have one super complex password to lastpass. Every other password is randomly generated for every site I use and they are extremely complex. I love not having to remember any of the other passwords anymore. Works with moblie devices too. Is it easy to have on multiple computers, so that my wife and I can have everything aggregated together. I love mint and the ability to get my financial picture without going all over the planet, but then when I need to get something changed on some random account I never use, it takes forever? My research seemed to indicate lastpass was really good (although it had gotten hacked about a year ago...which was one concern about using one of those companies vs. just like a google drive doc that I password protect...at least then someone would have to look for my google drive and know I had the file there). Not sure if that is really much different or not. So whenever you go to various websites, the lastpass password and login automatically populate (on your devices you have it up...iphone / android phone / apple computer / PC, etc?). Asking more cause I don't want to go through the effort of pulling this all together and then not liking whatever tool / option I go with (cause figuring out all my passwords will be a pain in the ass in and of itself). Mainly for those random things you never ever access or hope to never access.
  11. Anyone have a good, secure way of managing all your passwords. And when I say "secure", I mean in the relative sense, where it is secure, but you can keep everything in one spot without it being a giant pain to ever access, etc. Oh and I want free. Do people just use googledrive with a protected spreadsheet, or does anyone use the fancier tools that are out there (which auto remember, input, etc). I'm tired of going to certain accounts every once in a while to only have to struggle to ever remember how to get on.
  12. QUOTE (juddling @ Jan 14, 2017 -> 11:24 PM) It was a long time ago but IIRC...They asked her if she where she was from so they could find a local dealer to arrange the car's pickup (and I assume the type of car, options, etc). They contacted her about a week after she came back to school and said they couldn't find her car near us and offered the cash value or a car from a dealer in St. Louis area. We were in Carbondale and she was FROM St. Louis so going there to get car was no big deal. The show arranged it with the dealer..She went in. Signed a few papers. I guess the show or dealer alerted the local paper as there was a reporter there for a pic/interview. I'd have ran with the cash value.
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 14, 2017 -> 01:36 PM) Not to be a Debbie Downer, but did they give you a tax bill on all that stuff? I also wondered how that worked I had a good friend who won and then finished second in the showcase. You do get a tax bill.
  14. Ecco those sentiments. Good for you guys who have recognized a problem and taken it by the horns to correct it.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 05:54 AM) Holy s*** was last nights episode of Sherlock amazing. It was almost what the movie Saw set out to be, but totally failed at. Looking forward to watching it tonight after the kids go down.
  16. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 08:52 AM) Perhaps, SF is waiting to interview a coach that's on a playoff team. They actually have already interviewed both McDaniels & Shanny (did so during each teams bye week). They've also interviewed Tom Cable, Anthony Lynn (person who had been Bills interim coach), Sean McDermott (Bills new HC), Vance Joseph (Broncos new HC), and Sean McVay (Rams new HC). On that list, I would assume that it will likely be either Shanny / McDaniels getting the job (unless they pull a wildcard). A lot of people thought the Niners were going to hire a Pats guy as the GM, but supposedly he ended up saying he wasn't interested (and the presumption is McDaniels would have been a package deal with him). I presume hold up in San Fran is they want to finalize the new GM to ensure the coach / GM dynamic works properly. It now seems that Ron Wolf's son might be the Niners GM (they are currently pretty focused on two Packers guys).
  17. QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 08:39 AM) Its pretty safe to say that Fangio isnt going anywhere next season right? Now that vacancies are being filled it doesnt look like there are any other landing spots for him. Well, it seems very unlikely that Fangio would get a HC gig at this point (since San Francisco would already know him pretty well and didn't act in the past and appears focused on an offensive head coach (presumably one of Shanny / McDaniels). That said, it could be that at some point one of these teams reaches out to Fangio to be the DC and he could ask Fox and Fox (depending on the relationship) could allow Fangio to leave. I will say, if Fox stinks, on my realistic list, Shanny would be my top choice (Harbaugh is my actual #1). I can't believe he hasn't gotten a gig this year already (presume San Fran will hire him or Josh).
  18. QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 13, 2017 -> 12:21 PM) Screw Jason, I want to see them play in an ice storm. I'm actually okay with that too.
  19. That is awesome...I get to watch a sunday night game (my time). Fantastic for me (hopefully it is a good gmae).
  20. Anyone think the Bulls might target Dragic in a trade? No idea what the Heat would want (and clearly we don't have a ton to offer, but we could offer the expirings needed to free up there cap space and start a rebuild).
  21. Nice win over Purdue. I can't say Iowa should be 4-1 cause they could have just as easily lost the Michigan game (which went to OT) or even this Purdue game (heck, the ball went out on Iowa, maybe not totally definitive to overturn, so Purdue should have been shooting with Iowa up 1 vs. Iowa up 3 as time was expiring). It is too bad Jok isn't around another year. If he was, my eyes would be exstatic over what next year could do for the Hawkeyes. That said, this team is going to have some tough / bad losses due to inexperience, but they have been enjoyable to watch (I didn't watch much of them until big 10 play started).
  22. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Jan 12, 2017 -> 02:35 PM) Rams hand over struggling franchise to a 30-year-old http://nypost.com/2017/01/12/rams-hand-ove...-a-30-year-old/ He supposedly nailed both the Niners and Rams interview. He gets a lot of credit for Cousins and is supposedly really really bright. Only question is whether he has enough experience yet to handle the big thing or not. Seems like a decent type of guy to have groom Goff. Risky, sure, but if he can get some experienced assistants and isn't overly arrogant it could end out working out brilliantly.
  23. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 11, 2017 -> 12:46 PM) man, child care costs are outrageous. Yes...yes they are.
  24. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 11, 2017 -> 11:53 AM) Yeah, even though that seems like clearly the best path, I really don't envy the position you're in. It'll suck to let her go because you're not heartless, but you gotta do what's best for your own child. Echo these sentiments.
  25. Ahh...would help if I could see the image (but can't click on the link).
