The flight will be long. But try to find a non-stop flight. When your going for a long time it just helps. Check out vayama.com, they seem to have pretty good coverage on International Travel. When you fly, try to exercise and stand-up and stretch at least a few times during the flight (prevents blood clots).

I said it a long time ago, but I think Ozzie will be gone, Kenny will get promoted, and we'll see Hahn running the show as the GM. The question is would the Sox hire Cora or would they hire LaRussa.

That hurts, especially with no Wegher. -
Horrible news. I hope it isn't anything serious. I love me some Floyd.

QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Sep 20, 2010 -> 07:00 AM) Despite that catch, Hester seems like he is still out of place. I think Devin could be an elite slot receiver, but I want my starting WR to do more: block in the run game, make plays in coverage, and have reliable hands. Still, for 2 plays on Sunday Devin did great things. Bennett is a guy who quietly have a good game. He made some nice catches and did a tremendous job blocking.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Sep 18, 2010 -> 11:46 PM) Aaron Craft is a b**** for ratting us out. All sorts of illegal s*** happens in recruiting - it's part of the game. And when you decide to commit to a school (Tennessee) and then commit elsewhere later (Ohio St), you don't pile on the school you de-committed from by telling the NCAA about making an unapproved visit to the coach's house. That's some bulls***. If illegal stuff is happeing, than it should get caught. Just because other schools do it doesn't mean it is ok for your school to have done it. And while the commit is probably a bit 2-faced it still wouldn't have ever been an issue had the program not been doing stuff wrong in the first place. -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 04:51 PM) They look bomb-ass right now. Today we got the Jay Cutler we all thought we were getting. Martz = creative. I like. F*cking hester even looked legit today! I don't see it. Hester turned something into a nice play. But he also dropped what a good receiver would make as a TD catch (long pass down the sideline on a perfectly thrown ball by Cutler). Was it an easy catch, no, but catchable, absolutely. On top of that on the following play Martz called for a screen where Hester was in a position to block. Hester puts on a block and it might very well be a touchdown and most defnitely was a first down. Instead Hester completely whiffed on the block. He made some catches, but I still think he's best utilized as a slot receiver. Oh and don't get me started on what a terrible return-man Devin has become.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 07:35 AM) That was a seriously disappointing loss by Iowa last night. I really thought they were going to come back. It looked like it, but they buried themselves early on with that poor special teams play and Marvin McNutt's normally sure hands turning a reception into a pick 6. Sucks, but that match-up was a disaster waiting to happen. -

QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 10:38 AM) Me personally I would never classify a road team as a 1.5 fave as a solid bet. A top 10 team on the road vs a fringe top 25 team would seem like an easy play. But going out west is never a sure thing, especially for a 1030 start. 90% of the spread plays is going on Iowa and 70% of the moneyline to Arizona which is about right since there isnt any real value in going with the Iowa ML or AZ spread. I've liked Arizona all week but if you put a gun to my head I would take Iowa so I doubt I'll play this game. I think this game will be a dogfight to the end. I agree with you. I'd love for Iowa to route, but they are going west (never an easy task) and have the late start time. On top of that Arizona runs a spread offense and that quick release offense could help neutralize Iowa's outstanding pass-rush. Plus, Iowa's great D Coordinator, Norm Parker, will not be able to make the trip to Arizona. It is going to be a dog fight. -
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 09:15 PM) Working near Camp Pendleton this week. Artillery shells going off in the background is a bit unsettling. What are you doing on the Socal area. You in Oceanside or Carlsbad?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 07:03 AM) That one's easy and you ought to know it. Although I'll admit I've managed a full thread derailment and I apologize....it doesn't require papers to live in the country. It requires papers and permission to use roads. If I choose to not be driving and I'm not breaking any other law, by every standard of "government intrusion into my life" having to produce papers at the request of authorities is the definition of a government intrusion into people's lives. But aren't you required to be a citizen (or have a work visa) to receive a drivers license? Or at least, shouldn't you be?

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 05:05 AM) Whoa, I dont know how I missed that the Iowa game is going to be at 9:30 on saturday night. Thats a huge plus. Ya, for Arizona. That is going to be a really really tough game. Arizona is a strong team at home and has a pretty darn good offense. The game scares the hell out of me as a Hawkeye fan. -
And remember, you can't follow these rules, and you will be suspended. 3 strikes and your out. 3rd suspension will result in a suspension no shorter than 6 months. And if we have to suspend everyone on this forum because no one can behave nicely, than thats what I'll do (That includes mods/admins/etc).
-
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 08:23 AM) I get to be Balta and make a completely unreasonable connection: "So, you're saying all people with money and power are evil?" Another example of a not ok post. It cleary is a personal attack at another individual. Consider this thread a microcosm of this forum and I'm issuing a mass warning to everyone that particaptes within filabuster that they will have to shape up and stay away from personal attacks and mass generalizations which I will construe as personal attacks. If posters will not, they will be on a strict 3 strikes and your out policy (meaning, 1st 2 times you'll see hefty suspensions, 3rd time you'll be banned from filabuster for a 6 month period). The bulls*** that goes on here will come to a stop and come to a stop quickly. If not, this specific forum (Filabuster) is going to be one inactive place with a s***-ton of suspended users.

QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 12:03 PM) my high school gym teacher was also a Dr. too. Example #2 of posts that you (and others on both sides of the political agenda) are making that need to dissapear and dissapear fast.

QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 11:48 AM) and all of their view points aren't crazy. I just enjoy seeing people who pay the least amount in taxes, 10-20% brackets, (personal income, property, sales, etc) out there screaming about how their taxes are too high. So you are just assuming that tea party people are un-educated poor people? I'm glad you threw some fact into the party. How about next time you make a post you post something of value instead of generalist shots with no legitimacy shot at a group of people supported by various people in this country (including posters that post on tihs board). Thus as far as I'm concerned, your post does construe a personal attack. And this type of s*** needs to stop or there will be some mass bannings/suspensions handed out to people that participate in this forum.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 11:42 AM) Ok, that was a solid reply. The initial response was not appropriate either. It clearly was a shot at the republican base and the type of radio we listen to and it was in the republican thread.

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 13, 2010 -> 05:52 PM) Because it is always popular to hate Michigan. People like to mock Rodriguez as well, forgetting their coach has probably done worse things. Lots of sports fans wear blinders. Not my coach. Ferentz is complete class. -
Thought it be curious. Seems like a lot of us have recently been engaged or married, so thought I'd ask the question.

QUOTE (IceCreamPants @ Sep 6, 2010 -> 07:29 AM) Machete was meh to me. It was a really poor mans Inglorious Basterds. It was kind of fun and had all the things you would expect in a Rodriguez film but it just didnt do much for me. But man, that chick naked on the bed in the opening scene was absolutely unbelievable. I hated Inglorious Bastards, but boy did I enjoy Machete. Thoroughly an amusing movie.

Iowa did what they needed to. They made a couple foolish turnovers but crushed a bad team like they are supposed to. Rivalry game coming up and Jewel Hampton will be back which will give Iowa much needed help (Robinson/Hampton is a solid duo) at RB since Wegher is currently MIA. -
