QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 07:20 PM) Well, their best hitting prospect is Buster Posey, and he's untouchable. Therefore, I'd settle with Sanchez and Tim Alderson. He's one of their better pitching prospects and he's only 21. Just an FYI, but aside from Gordon Beckham, ALderson would be the best prospect in our system and he's one of the elite pitching prospects in all of baseball. The youngest player in AA too, IIRC.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 10:44 AM) No bruises down leg, and no pain when they pulled and twisted leg. All the pain is located in the kneecap region, specifically on the top of the kneecap (or front, hard to describe, but if laying down it would be the highest point). There is alot of swelling around the upper part of the knee cap too. If it is just a strain they can drain the fluid and start PT. Maybe you dislocated the knee cap or something?

If Thome accepts would it make sense to move him in a deal, buy an OFer and let Quentin DH the remainder of the year (for his foot). I know the Sox are looking to add a corner OFer if they can find one.

QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 10:34 AM) Chisoxfn, is Hudson on the same fast track as Poreda was? Or are his circumstances a little bit different? JPN does Hudson have a better arsenal of 3-4 pitches as oppsoed to Poreda who is continuing to improve/develop his secondary pitches with Coop? Hudson has a better feel for pitching so to speak, but doesn't necessarily have the plus plus pitch that Poreda has. Poreda's sinking fastball from the left side is very very legit. However, Hudson appears to be very polished as he's at his third stop in the organization this year (Low A, High A, AA). Nice mixture of pitches, good movement, and according to JPN his velocity topped out at 98 in his first start. Pitched more in the low to mid 90's though.

All of those ligaments I mentioned are in the knee area. Do you have bruising down your jointline (ie, running down your leg. And most importantly when they did tests on your knee and pulled and twisted your leg, did it hurt like hell?

I'd be thrilled with that deal. I love Heisey and Stubbs. Both are stellar prospects. But I doubt the Reds give up all that. You are talking about some very good prospects. I realize we are also talking about very good players. It is much more likely that Dotel will be the only guy we end up getting draft pick compensation for next season. If the Sox are going to deal someone it would be Liney as they might figure they could sell him (I doubt it). And right now they aren't going to make some massive sale, especially not when Quentin is due back and the starting rotation is really coming along. Plus the offense is looking better and better.

I'm pretty sure you must have torn your ACL/MCL/Miniscus or a combination of those.

Was Transformers any good?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 09:26 AM) It's somewhat hard to see how they can get around that. They have a potential CF on the way up for next year in D2: the mighty Danks, They have reinforcements at every other position on the diamond, they appear to be deep with young starting pitching, their bullpen is expensive but has a lot of good parts, and we're going to have money to spend this offseason. Danks/Quentin/????. Dye probably moves to DH.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 09:29 AM) Who arrives first - Hudson or Shirek? Hudson is a much better prospect and arrives first.
-
Dan Hudson, get used to that name. And who knows if someone gets hurt or whether Richard/Poreda both pan out, etc. Plenty can happen. Expect the Sox to make a run at a corner OF though.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 04:17 PM) I'll be honest, I never used to go on futuresox.com. With the site down the past few days, I was on there all the time. You guys do a great job. Now let's get these guys signed! I don't think ST is going to be down very often anymore. This new server is a massive upgrade to what we used to have. Ain't cheap but its badass.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 04:17 PM) I'll be honest, I never used to go on futuresox.com. With the site down the past few days, I was on there all the time. You guys do a great job. Now let's get these guys signed! Well you my friend are missing out. Just wait till Collari writes his first piece. And than we are working significantly on getting more guys in the Collari mold who are involved with the minor league franchises to contribute. It will single-handedly be the best team specific minor league site on the web. Yep, I'm very arrogant about the collective White Sox minor league knowledge on the site.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 04:08 PM) When did Bellamy sign? Four days ago or so. Dude, FutureSox is all over that s*** fathom, We RAWK!!!!

Getz is clearly in a funk but the Sox are actually showing patience and it is smart because Getz is a good baseball player and he could be a valuable assets.

Per JPN and FutureSox, Dan Black promoted to Kanny: http://futuresox.com/frontpage/?p=519 -
I can't get over how nice this new machine is. Double the ram and a far more efficient database system. This is the fastest site I visit now!!!!

QUOTE (SI1020 @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 01:53 PM) After it was offline awhile I was wondering maybe it isn't and maybe I'm banned. I wasn't planning on posting much, but I do like to read. So now that it's back that's what I'll do. I know the folks that run this place have taken it a long way from its humble beginnings. And you've been here since the beginnings!!!

QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 10:18 AM) I came away extremely impressed as well. The guy is a specimen, and he play with great confidence as you said. Does his performance/MVP award now make him more expensive or tougher to sign? Get this guy in Rookie ball ASAP, I wanna see how fast he adapts to pro ball. It gives him a lot more leverage. If he came back into the draft he might very well be a top 10 pick which would command a much higher bonus. I expect him to get over slot money now. Not a whole lot over though. He clearly wants to play in the pro's and what better way to go out than as a champion.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 07:05 AM) Kevin Dubler is starting the year in Great Falls. This may change when Phegley gets into the organization, but, we'll see. I think Phegley is going to go straight to Kanny.

I think it is good that Poreda is getting his feet wet in the pen. I also think Poreda still has some things to work on before he jumps into the rotation and I think Richard will get things figured out. In Poreda's case I expect him to be in the rotation if the Sox move one of there other pitchers, notably Contreras. However, they aren't falling out of contention so they might hold onto Count and at that point it will be one of Richard/Poreda that is in the rotation with the other in the pen. I still think its a good idea to give Poreda a bit more time in the pen.

It is your love. Check out our interview with Gordon Beckham because he talks all about why it is his song. In fact, the quotes below are from our interview with the studly 3B of the Sox: http://futuresox.com/frontpage/?p=491

Wow this is the fastest I think the site has ever ran!!!

Smooth Andrew, two years and you've lost it. There are these teams called Great Falls and Bristol
