Jim Parque
SoxNet's Commentary on the Story Jim Parque Confesses, Explains HGH Useage Good article. I commend Parque for being so honest and up-front. I also admit that I've always understood why players would turn to roids. If your a borderline player or a player seeing his career flush down the toilet your going to do every last thing to keep your job. Jimmy did exactly that. However, He loses me when he says he did it to keep a life-style for his family. The reality is he still made a lot of money playing baseball (more than most Americans will make in a life-time). Should we excuse Madock if he said he was just trying to keep his lifestyle? Or what about the Enron execs because the reality is that Parque did something that was ethically wrong (although his actions didn't effect investors).

Draft Signings
The guy from WSI is a really good source. I'd say you can pretty much take it to the bank. I know they were close so they must have closed the gap last night.

Wow that was the same pitch called a strike earlier in the count. I'd have rung him up. Alexei got away with that.

Trade Winds Catch All
QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 03:57 PM) Some guy in Jim Callis' chat said the Sox and Boston discussed a Beckham for Buchholz trade, but didn't have a source and I can't find it anywhere so take it for what it's worth. I wouldn't trade Beckham for Buchholz, but I would certainly be willing to trade Ramirez for him if Boston was interested. You rarely trade a upper echelon hitting prospect (especially MI) for a upper echelon pitching prospect. Or at least you rarely see it happen. Bucholtz is quite good but also a bit over-rated due to being in Boston. Obviously he'd be the Sox best prospect and immediately join the rotation but it isn't worth the cost (ie, Beckham).

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 03:20 PM) Boston stocking up on crappy left handed hitters. Adam Laroche and Chris Duncan. I assume the Duncan for Lugo deal went down?

7/21 Games
QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 10:39 PM) It's hard to tell, I think he throws a slider or a change up. I'd definitely be happy to blog on Future Sox, that of course is up to the webmasters...hint hint Wait, don't you already? Or are you talking like a separate thing, which we could set-up, where your stories and latest stuff is on the left side or something.

2009 Unsigned Draft Pick Update
FS: 2009 Unsigned Draft Pick Update By Jason Gage FutureSox.com This means that the Sox might have actually reached deals with the prospects in question but those deals have not been announced as the league tends to sit on above-slot offers. Or the Sox might just be waiting patiently to see if the asking price drops before making their significant offer. What we can tell you from what we’ve heard: - The Sox appear confident that they’ll be able to sign Trayce Thompson and Justin Jones. - Bryan Morgado appears to be a wild-card. Initially the Sox had felt he’d be an easy sign as he was a college player without a college (Tennessee wasn’t going to keep him) but as a draft eligible sophomore who has opened up some scouts’ eyes at the Cape, his contract demands and leverage have been higher than expected. - Brian Goodwin and Dane Williams will go down to the wire. The odds aren’t good, but the Sox are going to give it a fighting shot.

Fantasy Trade: Roy Halladay
Okay, I've split out the thread. I called it fantasy because this is much more like a Fantasy Sports Trade than a real trade and I want real trade discussion in our thread. Once you see this Dam, let me know, and I'll move it over to the Fantasy Forums where people can continue to discuss it there

Fantasy Trade: Roy Halladay
If money isn't a factor than the Sox are basically getting all stars for each prospect dealt. Boston gets totally screwed giving up Lars and Lowell for PK. If money was a factor than Toronto would be doing incredibly well as they'd get Halladay and Rios contract off there books and get a lot of talent and I mean a lot. Chicago would be doing the worse because they'd be taking on a lot of contracts.

White Sox rejected in bid for Halladay
Okay, with that in mind, going to move this into the Trade Winds

Fantasy Trade: Roy Halladay
QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 10:41 AM) Okay, don't flame me for this, this is not a rumor, this is not something I think will happen (so please spare me the "get off the XBox" comments), this is something I'm looking for advice on. If offered this deal, would you take it (assuming financial constraints were not a concern)? Toronto gets: LHSP Aaron Poreda LHSP Clayton Richard 3B Dayan Viciedo RHSP Dexter Carter 1B Lars Anderson (from Boston) Chicago gets: SP Roy Halladay 3B Mike Lowell (would move to 1B) RF Alex Rios 3B Scott Rolen Boston gets: 1B Paul Konerko OF Tyler Kuhn Boston just traded for LaRoche and Lowell might be out for the season. The Sox are also taking on an insane amount of payroll so I'd hope they'd be getting 40M in cash or so.

Pitt Post Gazette Reporting Adam LaRoche traded
Pirates get back Argenis Diaz and Hunter Strickland. According to Balder and Goldstein the BoSox didn't give up much (nor should they of for 2 months of LaRoche). Diaz is a plus defender with no bat and Strickland was a projectable arm two years ago with a low 90's FB that hasn't been able to turn the corner.

You Asked for it, I finally Caved In
Were getting to the final stretch before the trade deadline and the Sox are in the midst of a big time race and my guess is there is going to be a flurry of rumors the next 10 days (yep, I went out on a limb, LOL). So despite me not being the biggest proponent of it I know a lot of you have asked for it so in Soxtalk fashion you get it * Just a lot later than you had asked for it, LOL.

Paging Jose Martinez...
I believe he's still in the Instructional League's rehabbing and getting healthy. I put a question into the organization though a day or two ago and am waiting to hear back on it.
