  1. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 25, 2009 -> 09:40 PM) I noticed it in Soxtalk's absence. Looks terrific. Works on FF most importantly too. Yep, thought everyone would like that.
  2. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 25, 2009 -> 09:39 PM) What is the surprise? The Surprise comes later. But the New FutureSox was launched yesterday. www.futuresox.com If I do say so myself, its very f***ing badass!@!!!!!
  3. I literally hit referesh 1000 times and I had some idea of what was going on. I felt so naked without the site.
  4. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 25, 2009 -> 09:34 PM) Is it finally back!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!! It is and on a much faster machine!!!
  5. After a couple days, the site is back online on the brand new server. It certainly wasn't easy but Kap did a badass job getting us onto the new machine. Its double the ram and soon we will be on Version 3.0 of the forum software. Who knows how much better the site will work on the new server but we expect it to be pretty badass!!!! Let us know if you run into any bugs and thanks for all the patience!!!
  6. If your on Mozilla the site looks messed up. No worries though, our pretty version of FutureSOx will be launched in a few days as soon as our server migration is complete.
  7. They are signing a lot more guys than they did last year.
  8. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Jun 22, 2009 -> 09:38 AM) Even if CQ comes back (which i doubt), the Sox should still look into improving the OF situation. And I think they will.
  9. After the site gets upgraded and onto the new forum software, we have two big upgrades. One the brand new FutureSox layout (its stunning) and two, a secret surprise which will roll-out afterwards and remind some people of the good "ole" days. No one other than Mario and I know of what the 2nd surprise is, just an FYI, but it'll go one step farther in making our network the ultimate place for a White Sox fan.
  10. Wow, I still don't like hearing someone saying he feels that he doesn't need surgery cause that means it was at least a thought at one point. I hope everything works out okay. Sweeney, Anderson and Jeremy Reed (after he left Chicago) both missed significant development time and in some instances might have flopped due to wrist injuries (ie, Reed).
  11. QUOTE (Adele_H @ Jun 21, 2009 -> 05:18 PM) generous gun. just as Linebrink likely didn't really throw 96 against the Cubs or Bobby Jenks -- 99 in Kansas City. most of the time with the Sox Masset was barely 92-93. not that velocity is everything. it just adds to the mistrust of minor league hype. I think a lot of that had to do with the Sox telling him to not worry about velocity and focus about pitching. He's been consistently clocked in the mid 90's all season in Cinncy (Masset that is). Do I think Hudson is going to come up to hte majors and throw 98 consistently, hell no, but I wouldn't be at all surprised with him in the 92-95 range.
  12. By the way, the full feature FutureSox will probably launch by the end of the week (beautiful format if I don't say so myself). We've got a great nucleus of writers with Danny, Ernsty, JPN, Tony (our interviewer), Seven, myself and Ed Collari!!! And we are working on getting more on board. Easily the best looking and most user friendly version of FutureSox in the history of FutureSox.
  13. Of course I'd love to have him. He's a bit overhyped but he's still a legitimate top 30 prospect in baseball, more likely still a top 15 one despite being a Red Sawk. He's got good stuff though and the BoSox aren't giving him up for just anyone. They'd have to get quite the pieces for the deal to make sense. I do think a package based upon the Cuban Missile and a veteran reliever or one of our older bats might work. But if the MIssile plays like he did last year at SS, well that is pretty f***ing tough to replace and Bucholtz hasn't proven a ton. Its tough but thats the only way we are getting Clay.
  14. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 20, 2009 -> 10:14 PM) Just got a call that my grandpa had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital for heart trouble...not a good start to Fathers Day. Sorry Alex, hope your grandpa is okay.
  15. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jun 21, 2009 -> 10:16 AM) I dont know what really happened because im watching gameday, but it showed the first two called strikes on Getz were at least 6 inches outside, it looked like he really got hosed Ya they were balls. Both were the same spot and called strikes. I was like, well, I guess were facing Maddux or Glavine in there prime with this type of zone.
  16. So is Dye out again due to his knagging injury? Alright Getzy.
  17. The site will be shutting down for about 24 hours tonight.
  18. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Jun 20, 2009 -> 09:11 PM) Wow, had no idea Hudson threw that hard. I thought he was low-90's and Dex was the one in the mid-90's. NO, Huddy has good velocity. He tends to pitch more in the low 90's but he can get into the mid 90's. I wouldn't say he sits in the mid 90's though. I was stunned to hear he topped out at 98 though. Thats insane!!! His 3 quarter delivery is why I compare him a bit to Halladay who has that unique delivery.

Didn't see it posted, but he was in Chicago to see a wrist specialist and supposedly will have a cast on for a week and from there the Sox will take things slowly. Nothing structurally wrong with the wrist, but still, the wrist plays a huge part to an offensive players game.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 20, 2009 -> 12:45 PM) I would say absolutely not. His throws on the double plays have shown very little arm strength. He's played 3B in the past and he could play there again. But not as a starter. In a utility role, sure, but nothing more.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 20, 2009 -> 12:09 PM) I think this site is very, very optimistic when it comes to prospects, even though the Sox have a TERRIBLE history of developing their own. I think some of the backlash toward Gartrell is from people who don't get the David Cook love. One thing people need to remember is not every prospect is supposed to be a superstar. Maybe Gartrell can come up and be a 4th outfielder. Same goes for Shelby, who's been destroying LHP this season. Getz is an example of a guy that was way too overhyped, as people were expecting a .400 OBP and 40 steals it seems like. He's a decent little player, but probably will never be near All-star caliber. That's fine though. Whoa whoa whoa. Getz was never overhyped. He was as underhyped of a prospect as the Sox have had in a long long time and I kept telling people this guy is a good one. Getz is going to hit in the majors and he's going to have a very good major league career if a team gives him a chance. Luckily the Sox seem to see this and are giving him his chance. He's a very good baseball player and it will be proven. Now putting up a .400 OBP and 40 steals, probalby not going to happen, but I could see him get the steals and put up a .360+ OBP if all goes well and thats pretty f***ing good.
