Randy Williams wasn't bad in spring training and if he's used properly he might actually turn into a nice commodity, especially when you have to go through Mauer/Morneau. I don't think he's very good either but the Sox will use him a lot more than they did Poreda.

I don't think this is going to be a temporary move. Williams is a guy Ozzie will have more faith in and we'll see him used as the lefty specialist.

I don't see the Sox dealing Poreda for Garland but who knows. I'm not Poreda's biggest fan, although I think he could help the Sox in the pen as soon as next year.

I don't get why people are so high on Jeff Clement, but at the same time I've never gotten the Jack Wilson hype either. Clement isn't a good defensive catcher and he's yet to really do much at the major league level. Last season he struggled greatly in Seattle and while he's put up solid minor league numbers, it is the PCL. He's a guy that gets love because he was a former top pick, imo. However, for Jack Wilson I wouldn't have given him up. Wilson gets paid a decent amount for a guy that won't hit. I'd rather have Juan Uribe, myself. Great move for the Bucco's, I don't get it if I'm a Mariner fan. Edit: I should update this. I see where the M's are getting Ian Snell back too. I like the deal a lot more now because I think Snell is the best player in the package (or at least the guy with the most upside). A change of scenery might do Snell wonders.

Wow, Richard puts up two great starts against divisional foes and gets replaced by Colon. I don't like it one bit.

I'd watch for a trade in the next 24 hr's with Fields heading elsewhere, potentially for a reliever (which than means Colon might be the odd man out) or some sort of prospect. They have until tomorrow's game, which is when I'm sure Kotsay will report and be added to the Sox 25 man roster.
