  1. Another almost double...just foul. Liriano keeps throwing it in so he's gonna keep turning on it. If Liriano is smart, he goes away.
  2. Damn, Nix crushed that, 4 feet foul.
  3. He's gonna get that FB. Sox have done a nice job against Liriano thus far.
  4. I'm listening to the Twins cast....yes.....yess..yess.....Corky. Anyway I'm listening to the Twins cast and Ron Coomer is a f***ing outstanding analysis, I mean outstanding.
  5. Next time Corky starts, the whole team should come out in stirrups as well.
  6. Offensively, Ramirez is looking a lot better.
  7. f***, Paulie hammered that thing, just foul though.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2009 -> 06:19 PM) Beckham's not exactly tearing up AA right now. It really is astonishing how bad our infield, outside of Konerko, has been this season. Beckham was hurt and his numbers are impacted because of it. He'll be just fine, but he's not quite ready. He'll be ready by seasons end if all goes well, maybe sooner.
  9. Nice defensive play by Danks to get Gomez on the bunt. Sox are gonna put up a crooked number right here.
  10. This is one of the worse defensive White Sox teams I've seen since 1998 or so, back when it was the kids can play teams where you expected errors as you had tons of nobodies. Sac fly, 2-0, thanks to poor D.
  11. f*** a solid throw from Dye and he's out. Either way f***ing horrendous baseball.
  12. Oh and Ramirez still had the out at 2nd and made a bad decision throwing to first.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2009 -> 06:12 PM) Alexei boots an extremely easy double play ball. This team has botched more double play balls than any team I can remember. Reminds me of the Toronto game with Floyd on the mound, ie, the last time Floyd was pitching good.
  14. Wow, it doesn't get any easier of a DP than that and Ramirez botches it. His defense has left a lot to be desired in my books. I haven't been impressed with his range or anything. He hasn't been as bad as I expected (as I expected a ton of routine errors). So instead of the inning being over, two on with one out.
  15. Nice play by Fields. Danks with what might be a costly walk.
  16. It might seem like an obvious comparison, but he reminds me a bit of Carlos Lee.
  17. Danks has looked good through 3 too.
  18. QUOTE (Brian @ May 20, 2009 -> 05:47 PM) I really don't wanna waste an option on Gordon this year, unless we get hot and are in contention. If options are an issue with Gordon, than we are in trouble cause it means he isn't 1/10th of the ball player we think he'll be. The only issues are starting his clock and I believe at this point, starting him now won't really impact him and the next benefit point would be if you called him up like next May or something. Can someone give light to me on that though cause I'm far from an expert on that stuff.
  19. Beau, you let me know when you can make it to games of Sox affiliates and I'll get you the access for even sweeter vid's if you want.
  20. Wow. Prayers go out Scott and the family.

Josh was pretty banged up last year as well. I hadn't heard that comment but I'm glad Ozzie isn't afraid to send the message to Josh. Right now Josh is a bad baseball player. He's playing poor defensively and even worse offensively and has really no chance at the plate. A small microcosym of Fields could have been seen last night in one at bat against Baker where he saw two hanging curves and a mediocre fastball and struck out easily. It was downright atrocious and if Fields had no chance hitting those pitches, he's really got no business being in the bigs at this point in time. I would further say that the Sox made a big mistake in both Fields and Anderson's development in the sense that they had identified flaws in there swings at the lower levels that would impact there ability to play in the majors and ignored those flaws until they got to the show, where they felt they would than implement the minor changes as the players would be more responsive to it. It wasn't the right way to handle it and I'm glad, based upon things I've heard and read that it seems as if the organization has changed that philosphy to at least an extent and is really working on teaching and developing these guys at a minor league level so they are actually ready to succeed and make an impact more quickly at the big league level.
