QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 5, 2012 -> 07:30 PM) Nah. But it's not like Obama doesn't catch plenty of s*** here from me, balta, bs etc. granted it is from the left, but theres not unwavering praise. Why, you all got what you wanted, except becoming f***ing robots for the government. Line up for your chip. Oh, right, health care is not far enough left, we're not a marxist state (yet), and we haven't become France. If you like that style so damn much, go live there and leave us the hell alone. Oui Oui.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 5, 2012 -> 07:22 PM) Have you missed the entire Don Cooper era? Yes.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 2, 2012 -> 05:21 PM) Dude, read the first sentence of his answer. He's clearly talking about his fear of a threat, not whether Bin Laden was an important get in the war. And why do you guys keep claiming that Obama did so much more? They were provided an opportunity and jumped on it. You have no proof that Bush or Romney or anyone else wouldn't have done the exact same thing. 8 years with nothing and suddenly a name jumps into their lap and the check it out. That's not some genius move that only Obama could make. And they got that information from *GASP*... KSM. Something Obama (dare I say it) wouldn't have done. Next.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 30, 2012 -> 07:38 PM) I will work on getting the site upgraded. The time we have is sparse and there will be some server changes in store. One thing that might go away is some of the historic historic info (given the cost of maintaining all of the real old stuff). I'll know more in a few weeks to a month. But there will be some back end changes that will be instore, which hopefully, by and large only the good is noticeable (e.g., getting this software upgraded to the newer versions which would support something like tapatalk). It definitely does... Now, here's where I see what you all can do. Is anyone interested in helping re-skin based on a new version of this software? I'll give you the test site and then we can switch it over when the software upgrade is done. Honestly, that's the biggest reason I haven't moved it up to the next version is we don't have a skin that would be even close to the good work done on this one. Any takers? It will be a lot of work... but everyone here would really appreciate it, I think.

Yes. And, like I said, I don't claim either way, but I did take the site down for now. Suggestions? PM me. I have a course planned but I figure I better see if it makes sense.

Funny thing is they match up better with ALC teams this year then they have in years past. Maybe it will keep them in the hunt. To be honest, .500 and 2 games out of first coming out of what has been traditionally been a bad month for the Sox isn't a bad place to be in.

Mexico's equivalent of our UCC code is incredible. You have to register with the government to even invoice. You have to have a government stamp on all invoices. There is no cash, no checks, it's all wire. There's more to it then that, but the business practices down there leads to some of this becase there's tons less regulation and the government (hmmm, go figure) can't track it. What's more, in order to be in business in Mexico, you must turn a profit. Again, there's more behind this then a blanket statement like this, but this is why Mexico only has shell companies doing business.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 29, 2012 -> 05:26 PM) When it comes to writing about the Sox, Cowley is rock solid. All the other stuff, I do not give one damn about. Hello, Mr. Obvious. -
Damn, I was wrong. May... 0-23.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 29, 2012 -> 05:19 PM) Less groupthink. How about less assholishness and a little respect for humanity? That should become soxtalk's theme.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 11:39 PM) Trademark for your company, I'm guessing? No. The claim is: using a stupid ass picture 5 years ago and they are saying that I have to pay for it. Note I say claim. I'm not admiting guilt or or no guilt with this post, assholes who monitor online activity.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 29, 2012 -> 03:09 PM) I don't think anyone would be driving around with one while being on a "Neighborhood watch" if they didn't think of it as a toy (at least at some level). Or buying "Concealed weapon pants" or whatever other hip trend there is out there. I think that may be a little overboard, but I do think that there is a lack of profound respect for guns in general.
-
This is kind of funny, because most people wouldn't realize this... but we went clay shooting and after about 5 shots of dialing myself in, I didn't miss after that. I have a pretty damn good shot for not practicing. You do bring up something that no one does any more, and that's respect the power of the weapon. Most people think of them as toys and it's sad.

QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 29, 2012 -> 08:43 AM) When my kids were younger my guns were basically disabled. Balta would have felt safe in my home. That was the best choice for me in that situation. I don't have anything here but the thought has crossed my mind to have a safe. I wouldn't even tell my kids it existed.

Anyone here want to represent me getting out of a copyright infringement?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 09:05 PM) If you can't find a way to both keep it unloaded and locked and also accessible...then unless every other house in your neighborhood is being broken into and the inhabitants raped...then I wouldn't want it. If you're in such a bad area where you absolutely have no choice but to have one (which is frankly incredibly rare in this country), then figure out a way to do it. I figure unaccessable in a safe but ready to use is about as far as it goes in my mind. And no one should have (ready) guns in that state unless they've had classes on how to use one.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 07:45 PM) Many, many bad things happen when guns can be accessed too quickly. Why have them is a fairly accurate sentiment. It's a great way to put your families lives at risk. If you insist you have to have them, then no security precaution is too much. I cannot disagree. I lost a good friend when I was growing up because his brother killed him. I wouldn't ever have my stuff out where my kids could even get to it, ever. But, if you need it for protection, it needs to be for protection and not just in pieces.
-
Yea, keep guns unloaded... inside the safe, when time matters. Now, locked up inside the safe I get but otherwise why have them.
