QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 06:51 PM) I also found one that I am going to use a lot more often now This is pretty much the whole site. Those of us left, anway.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 27, 2012 -> 07:09 PM) I've gotten a lot of people fired. As soon as I realize that I'm not getting the answer I want (or the person doesn't know what they talk about), I ask to speak to a supervisor. In no instance do I believe I call with a ridiculous request (I rarely if ever call, so If I'm calling, its cause I need something and I'm going to get what I want). Dickhead.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 19, 2012 -> 02:18 PM) I think that bringing the phone and system OS's together seems to be the trend for both Apple and Microsoft. Not sure about the Googles. Google will do whatever they can to drive out privacy.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 19, 2012 -> 05:51 PM) A line of credit can be cancelled at anytime. Its affect on capital is the same when a company uses an existing line or a new line to borrow more money. *yawn* It's getting boring. Obviously, no one had any money except the government. Don't you realize that every company that had any paper credit was bankrupt at the time? Bonds, lines of credit, stocks, mortgages, notes, they were all zero when GM got bailed out, and it was the only way.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 19, 2012 -> 09:50 AM) Ford had a credit line that didn't get canceled. You have an automotive company getting money during the crisis. If things were as bad as being stated, they sure wouldn't have kept it under the guise that repayment would have come at some later date if they would have collapsed. If things were that bad, that wouldn't have been good enough, because the bank could very well have collapsed in terms of capital ratios by the time they were to have received those loan repayments from the government. Just give up, because they don't want to understand how a market really works. They just don't. It's easier to say that the government had to step in to defend the point that the government now has to step in on everything because it's the only mechanism that works to save the world of all of the fallacies of an evil capital market. It was a payoff, everyone knows it except those who want to scream there was no money. And yes, George W. Bush did it. And it was wrong.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 18, 2012 -> 10:09 PM) Just got my first Rmoney superpac ad! Did you puke a little at the tv? I think I did.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 16, 2012 -> 07:58 PM) I would really love one single example of a company able to obtain substantial funding between the fall of Lehman and the passage of the stimulus with no assistance or guarantee by the fed. I'll even take a company that was no where near bankruptcy and only needed billions, rather than tens of billions. Any company that had a line of credit? Oops.

Hard assets = something to provide collateral, vs. paper assets = nothing to provide collateral. There's one fundamental difference, but the government wanted control of the bankruptcy process so they could control where the money went. That's okay, keep drinking the dips*** koolaid - it's too easy to buy that there was absolutely no money anywhere. Klapse!

I knew the thread would get "funny". Our $500000 a year (xxxxxxxxx position redacted, lol) taking a s***, grunting like his ass is on fire, is pretty damn funny. Even though he's rich, he s***s (and really stinks) like everyone else. /Flush

UPS had to shut down their hub for freezing rain yesterday morning - that messed up a lot of mail order flowers yesterday.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 15, 2012 -> 08:32 AM) It happens every contested primary. They all hate each other until the only other alternative is the other party. No matter which party, remember 2008? (oh nevermind, I needed to keep reading )

My youngest is a little smile factory. She's always happy. I think as a parent, if your kids are happy and growing up right (manners, learning, etc.), as a parent you're living life right. It's a nice reflection of what a family is supposed to be, even with the day to day stuff. You get a certain joy knowing that your kids are in a happy place. And it about kills you when they're not.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 14, 2012 -> 01:56 PM) Have either of you guys been able to take the 5k pre-tax savings account "deduction," plus the child care credit? I'm guessing they don't allow you to do that, but I haven't looked. No, you cannot do that, and yes, they will catch you. The child care credit is only for after tax money spent. And, the $5000 only equals a real $1000 credit. /thank me

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Feb 13, 2012 -> 12:06 AM) I had my son and had a vasectomy. This thread should be about parenting for people who currently have children. I know. I was kidding.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 14, 2012 -> 08:32 PM) He attacked Obama for not doing anything to fix entitlement programs and massively cutting entitlement spending. In adjoining sentences. What does the moron even stand for? 59 point economic plan. Okay. What does it say? Whatever the f*** he wants it to say. That's kind of the point. He is a jackass. At least with Obama, you know what you get, even contrary to what you (specifically SS because I know you have issues with the guy) may think.

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Feb 14, 2012 -> 03:38 PM) One night before a Republican primary, a liberal, a moderate and a conservative walk into a bar . . . Seeing this, the bartender cries, "How come you're not out campaigning, Gov. Romney?" I know, right? The guy attacks the liberals from the left and the conservatives from the right, and the centrists from his mirror. I cannot stand Rmoney. (I like it, Balta.). He's Rick Perry-esque.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 14, 2012 -> 07:17 AM) Birther heads will explode. I can see the Ruborocist phenomenon now.

QUOTE (mr_genius @ Feb 13, 2012 -> 08:42 PM) Obama should just promise to pay off everyone's mortgage if he should happen to win re-election. Nah, he needs to do that BEFORE the election so he can win re-election. Wait, what's that? He's trying to? Oh, yea. Another useless money ploy to win votes that don't do a damn thing. Got it.

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Feb 13, 2012 -> 11:25 PM) I've a feeling that the GOP wants a Brokered Convention, so that they can nominate Marco Rubio to run against Obama. Good.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 5, 2012 -> 04:59 PM) Checking the drugstore.com price, 360 doses would be a little bit over $6000 for people with no insurance. False. You know why? They get the card that makes it not cost that much direct from the manufacturer. Would we like to keep making things up that aren't here for the purposes of villifying someone? But I like how you made a big point of $6k to $1m for me. I'm not saying it's not a problem, but in a lot of cases there's a lot of ways around "screwing people over" the way you all want to make it sound like.

Abilify is not that expensive. But it's okay, that would get in the way of a good story to demolish another GOP candidate.
