QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 23, 2006 -> 08:29 AM) Okay, so someone help me out here. What was it about my post that made it quote worthy? I mean, I tell a guy that sometimes things are or are not true on a message board and I get qouted in SI? I don't get it. You really want to know why they did that? PM me and I can explain it to you. -
Well folks, it's a rainout on the planned outage tonight. We'll reschedule as best as we can in the next few days.
-
That sucks if true.

UPDATE. This might have to be delayed. There's a piece of the puzzle I have yet to get resolved. I'll let you all know later.

QUOTE(WCSox @ Mar 21, 2006 -> 09:20 PM) Agreed that it was a mistake for Bush to focus on WMDs for so long. Sometimes I get the impression that his administration didn't want him to explain their motives in full because the American public wouldn't really understand and support it. I think that they underestimated our intelligence. The thing is, with the media hounding every time this guy takes a s***, it really does become more difficult to explain things to the "American People" as a whole. Most don't care enough because it's not "hurting them" unless their family is in Iraq, and therefore wouldn't care to do anything over there.

Congrats, dude! Hopefully we won't have to go to three... to get a little boy. Hehe.

Yes, indeed, this was one of the better threads/discussions in a while. I appreciate seeing things like this here.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 21, 2006 -> 07:19 PM) You thought his answer was good? The key link he made between his sweeping statements about terror/9-11/Afghanistan/Taliban and the Iraq conflict was the statement "I saw a threat in Iraq". No mention of what threat that was. Seems pretty weak to me. But I will give Bush some credit on something here - he has, lately, finally been allowing for more reality in his press appearances. He is letting people ask unscripted questions, which is a nice thing to see, as YASNY pointed out. You know what? Yes. I do. I also think that this was a lot bigger then "Saddam Hussein" and "WMD's"... but that's just me. This is way bigger then any of that, and most people don't want to look at this that way. I know that they look at it that way from the many statements they make that gets ignored because at that point GWB becomes "delusional". You see, I think it's hilarious when everyone that disagrees with GWB thinks he's an "idiot", and then at the same time, gets all pissed off when he "outsmarts" people by coming up with all this stuff. So which is it, is he an "idiot" or is he "that smart"? I'll answer - I think it's a little of both.
-
You know, Helen Thomas is parroting what (nearly) every Democrat out there thinks. Kudos. She stood up and spoke her true beliefs. Kudos, though for Bush having a good answer back.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Mar 21, 2006 -> 05:56 PM) Turns out my opinions are now part of the overwhelming majority of American's opinions in this war. Just saying. Is it REALLY the majority of American's opinion? I'd answer carefully on that.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Mar 21, 2006 -> 04:33 PM) Isn't all religion man made? Strictly by definition, why yes, it is. But I put that there for the emphasis.
-
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 21, 2006 -> 04:12 PM) Nice religion of peace. If you draw cartoons of our prophet, you must die. If you are another religion, you must die. I am surprised that they just dont rent some lions so we can go back to the good old Roman days. There's a lot of people out there that basically say the "muslim version" of the Crusades is what the Quran calls for. Everyone is to be purged that are "non-believers in the profit Muhammed". Meh. Tom-ah-toe, tom-ay-toe. MAN MADE religion is horrible.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 20, 2006 -> 08:21 PM) Um, what exactly is the alternative? Pull aid out of Iraq, let the insurgents spend another 2-3 years building up money (and weapons) from the oil reserves, and then watch the Central Government fall, followed by more years of civil war or a return of the Saddamists? I fixed that for you.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 21, 2006 -> 10:51 AM) What is hilariously funny about this while censure thing is that the President DID NOTHING ILLEGAL! He breathes. That's illegal enough.

ok how many of you midwest bastards had ZERO, NO, NONE, ZIP, ZILCH, NADA sorry ass big ten teams in the sweet 16? So, I guess the big ten was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY overrated this year, eh?
-
Kansas kicked my ass. If they would have won, I would be GOLDEN. But that's one final four down. That whole bracket sucks. Still 26 out of 30 is pretty good.

who is the provider for this stuff? -
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 17, 2006 -> 02:53 PM) Nah your cool dude. MSU will fall against UNC even if they beat George Mason, that's the best kind of upset pick you can make. yea, I had UNC coming out of there anyway. So we'll see.
-
QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Mar 17, 2006 -> 03:08 PM) If by the Democrats you mean 4 of them. Feingold strikes me as a man of principle - kinda like Wellstone was. Although he may have a bit more flair for the dramatic than Wellstone did, my gut feeling is that he's doing this out of genuine concern rather than pure grandstanding. But then again, I used to think the same thing about McCain and it turns out I was wrong about him... McCain's fame is just about done, I think.

QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Mar 17, 2006 -> 01:15 PM) after the late games I am still only down 1....today should be an interesting one though....couple of upsets i have....Kent St over Pitt, NC State over Cal, N Iowa over Georgetown....so we will still see if I am only down 1....anyways GO BUCKS!!! The big one I picked was George Mason over Michigan State today. In retrospect, I shouldn't have done that, because MSU usually plays well in the tournament. Other then that I didn't have too many upsets today if I remember right. Most of my upset picks were yesterday and they happened, amazingly enough.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 17, 2006 -> 02:03 PM) I don't remember much about that movie, other than this quote sure fits with the character she played. AQ was going to be my guess as well. Bogart and Hepburn. And so many memorable scenes from that movie. It was on not too long ago... and I watched it, which is the only reason I remembered that.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 17, 2006 -> 01:54 PM) I'm in your area right now. Yesterday was a beautiful day. Today looks like it will be nice, just cooler. Ahh. One of these times we'll have to hook up for a cold one. Not this time, though. I have 70 gazillion things on my plate right now.

African Queen. That movie rocks.
