  1. Wire reports indicate Kirby Puckett has died. RIP, Kirby. You played the game with class, and was a classy person to boot.
  2. This is simply terrific. Nice job to the Sox sales staff.
  3. And again, this proves my theory of they are all dirt scumbag trash.
  4. Good call. This was a lot of fun last year.
  5. weird - but this is an anything for $$ situation I suppose.
  6. I would say it was "questionable" but not dirty. I don't think he meant to catch him like he did, but he meant to hit him.
  7. This sure would be a good thing.
  8. QUOTE(samclemens @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 01:48 PM) carter = worst prez in american history. he has no credibility. apparently he'll say and do anything to stay in the spotlight. :rolly
  9. I'd like to throw this out there... if people have problems, let us know via PM instead of posting about it. Otherwise, people get "panicky" when there might not necessarily be any need. The admins will post anything that needs to be posted. Does this make sense to you all? Kap
  10. I always liked Kirby. I hope he recovers!
  11. I moved this to palehose. Normally I wouldn't, but in this case, we have a guy who is going to come from across the pond to see a Sox game. Can we help him out??!!??
  12. QUOTE(iWiN4PreP @ Mar 5, 2006 -> 01:45 AM) thanks for working so hard through all these "attacks" good webmaster! gee, thanks. oh wait, that was for Gage.
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 03:23 AM) Well this should be a fun night, I'm about to bike out in this: What are you b****ing about? The radar's clear! (that's what I get for reading this three days later, )
  14. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Mar 5, 2006 -> 12:57 AM) Did the server just go down momentarily? I got a blank white page with a PH NUKE sign in the middle, and it said the MySQL server is down for a few minutes. Wierd. edit: N/M, i read the thread ya, we were changing some security things around
  15. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 05:18 PM) I am using Mozilla, and it seems the page is always transferring data. Thats never happened to me before, it just seems to be taking extra long to load the page I don't know what would cause that. Let me know if that keeps up.
  16. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 04:29 PM) If you open it, but don't click on the link, are you at risk? No. (unless you have something that automatically opens email extensions, and that's not good anyway)
  17. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 02:01 PM) That was what I kept getting Thursday morning. It kept telling me to DL something...I was ummmm should I...I dont know?!?!? And then I tried to go straight to the forums and that didnt work either so I figured it was a glitch. I called a friend had them try to get in later in the morning and they said they got a page saying forbidden. That was unrelated... the Thursday morning incident wasn't us being hacked, it was the server. We then change the opening page to reflect the "forbidden" so not as many people would get that. We'll get this (other issue) fixed this weekend.
  18. QUOTE(WCSox @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 09:41 PM) Kind of like how Ozzie "called out" A-Rod and Nomar last week, but then later said that he was just joking? This is another case of "Ozzie being Ozzie" and while I do not condone what he said, I don't think that his intention to hurt Jenks' feelings. JMO. No kidding. I can't remember how many times I got "called out" by my high school football coach for missing a block. :rolly When you don't play by his rules, your coach will say something to you and whoever else is around to hear it. It's just part of sports. If it's a part of sports ... then leave it on the field or locker room, and not talk crap to the media.
  19. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 09:32 PM) *sigh* And that just makes it alright, doesn't it?
  20. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 08:56 PM) You'd think so, but 1/2 of Americans don't care. The bedwetting wingnuts have been hiding under their beds since 9-11, letting the administration operate unchecked and unquestioned in the name of national security, and continue to think nothing of the erosion of our civil liberties. *sigh*
  21. this is becoming a stupid thread.
  22. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 08:38 PM) As far as I know...we don't have a clue what the lobbying firm Mr. Dole works for has done in terms of lobbying for that company, because they've refused to say. So it has to be the worst case, because of party affiliation. Wow.
  23. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 08:14 PM) What radio? U.S.? Pakistani? I was out and about during lunchtime, and ABC news had a brief on and it had Richard Clarke on there saying that this is THE time for Al Queda to strike, and that it's likely that the same army guarding the President could be infiltrated.
  24. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 08:17 PM) I'll have to check that out. I've been gettting into some of his solo stuff little by little. I traded for some Knopfler/Clapton Tour stuff from the late 80s recently & I'm expecting those discs to arrive any day now. It should be an interesting lead guitar exchange, perhaps damn near Allman/Betts. Actually, it's kind of hard for anyone to even begin to approach the Allman/Betts Duo, isn't it? Fast fact, Betts spent some time in Wabash, IN. My dad played in a band with some guys that played with him.
  25. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 08:23 PM) I've finaly convinced my other half that a 10 hour drive from Chicago to Virginia is a great way to see more of America than we usualy get when visiting my in-laws. So this coming August we're flying into Chicago, spending a couple of days there and then driving down to her family in Virginia. So to all you regulars I need some help. Where are the best seats in the stadium? I'll be raking my son (13 yrs) so please bare that in mind. When watching football over here there are certain areas of the ground that I wouldn't want to take him. Are American stadiums similar? Where's the best place to buy tickets? Best place for a beer? Can you drink inside the stadium? Where's the best food located? Which is the best fast food outside the stadium/ To sum this post up, where should we go, what should we do to experiance a typical White Sox ball game? While your at it, any suggestions for a great family night out, restaurants, entertainment?(Bar for Dad?) Sweet! Beer's of course allowed in the stadium, but bring the cash for that, it's expensive. I'll let the other experts tell you the rest, but it's very cool that you'll get to see a game. Kap
