  1. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 17, 2006 -> 03:06 PM) I might agree on Gore and Clinton. But me thinks Mr. Nagin is kind of on his own planet. Also, remember, yesterday was MLK Day, so the issues of freedoms and civil rights were naturally going to be at the forefront. You're probably right about Nagin. That guy is an IDIOT.
  2. Let's see. Idiot Mayor talks about God punishing us for Iraq, etc. and NO needs to be rebuilt 'chocolates'. Algore screams about our freedoms being taken away. Hillary calls the GOP House a "Plantation"... all yesterday... Coincidence? I think not.
  3. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 09:42 PM) What if we just do it repeatedly but not over and over? Point taken Kaps. Ooops, that was a wee bit redundant, wasn't it?
  4. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060116/ap_on_...s/katrina_nagin This guy is a plain fruitloop.
  5. To laugh and kid around is one thing, to kick the s*** out of a dead horse, repeatedly, over and over again, is another.
  6. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 08:30 PM) Why do we have to be so serious all the time anyway. Way I see it a bunch of folks need to just lighten up. Theres no reason why posters have to walk on eggshells when they want to joke around about members of the Sox. As opposed to running around posting stuff like idiots? Meh. I'd favor fun, but in a more tactful way. You know how this is going to play out... and it does make sense.
  7. Oh, Milkman's right. It *IS* an issue, whether you want to admit it or not. I'm not going to get all "authoritative" (yet) and say that it should stop, but shouldn't it, joking or not? It just makes the site look like a bunch of 14 year olds, and trust me, it doesn't need much help most of the time.
  8. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 06:17 PM) Huge in what direction? I was under the impression it was hugely anti-Delay compared to all of the previous years. It's still a ton of votes that need to swing to remove him, but that's still a very large step. In 2002 it was something in the 60's to something in the 30's. It's very populated... it would be in the tens of thousands of votes IIRC. Also, though, I think that the redisctricing actually picked up some more Democtratic areas for DeLay (how ironic is that) so that may have skewed the #'s a little.
  9. This is something I've stayed out of for a long time, because I know that the posters who do it aren't intending to be 'racist'. It is, however (as has been stated), ignorant and demeaning. Also, though, there would be a lot of Hispanics that would probably be offended if they did read through these threads not understanding what it was all about. I realize that this was a gag from the start of the season and it's just kept going, but some guests or others probably would not.
  10. 55% to 41% in that district is HUGE #'s for what it's worth.
  11. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 12:28 PM) The campaign hasn't really started, once the campaign heats up, and the Hammer comes out, they will fall by the wayside. No way a Dem gets elected in Sugarland. The anti-DeLay vote will get split and Terrific Tom the Exterminator is back in Washington. And this time, he's pissed. This will be the Dems worse nightmare. Send me some of that whaky weed you're smoking. It must be good.
  12. dude, it had a lot of twists and turns... and I missed the first 10 minutes, SOB... so I don't know what brought Jack back from the dead. but i was very shocked at some of the stuff that happened.
  13. ok great - i don't trust downloading that s***... is it going to give me spyware up the ass?
  14. I wanted to know the same thing...
  15. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 02:00 AM) Yeah, you're just now getting even after your Slackhawks predictions. Yea, you got me there.
  16. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 05:24 PM) There's no way Chicago wins the Super Bowl. No way. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 07:36 PM) Thanks now I won't have to watch the games. Remind me...what wins championships? QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 07:49 PM) No, it's not because of any other team. The Bears do not have a championship team. That's all. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) I love how people are drinking the kool aid around here. They do not have enough offense to win. Defense wins championships, sure, but you have to score points to get to the championships. And furthermore, they play in a pretty weak division. And even more furthermore, when someone plays smashmouth football against them, they become Cubs, not Bears. Don't get me wrong, they are much improved over last year. But they are NOT a Super Bowl winning team, IMO. Last time I checked, the playoffs are a lot more smashmouth. That's why I have a hard time thinking Indianapolis will win. I admit, I'm a Colts fan, but I'm not sure they have the toughness to win it all, either. Personally, I like Seattle right now. But so many things can change, depending on matchups and what not in the playoffs. The Bears are decent, but not championship calibur, yet. Is that a little better substance, sir Kalapse? Well, damn, I turned out to be a lot more right then I wanted to be with that last post... but I must say, **I TOLD YOU SO**, and a special shout to SoxFan1 on this one.
  17. After the ass whoopin' the Colts took today, I'm slightly vinicated by saying what I've been saying all year. That defense was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay over-rated. And so was the Colts offense.
  18. GO CAROLINA! Actually in all seriousness, besides wanting to shut you all up, John Fox of Carolina is a freind of a friend of mine. So I'm rooting for them to go all the way now.
  19. Pittsburgh ABSOLUTELY was the better team out there today. No doubt about it. And yes, I'm a Colts fan.
  20. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 15, 2006 -> 09:37 PM) Well it looks like everyone on SoxTalk is happy. Good for you guys. The Colts had a lot of gifts and did nothing with them. Vanderjagt is still an idiot kicker. And the Colts are still the Atlanta Braves of the NFL. Well, this coming from a Colts fan, Payton Manning STILL can't play in a big game. Marvin Harrison? Anyone see him today? Damn, this one hurts, but Pittsburgh was definitely better today. And I want to see the f***ing Bears lose so bad it's pathetic.
  21. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 15, 2006 -> 08:13 PM) I never joined the circle. But, I'm willing to see how all this plays out before I just state that our president broke the law. I'm certain the legality of this was discussed in great detail before any action was taken. Now it's a matter of interpretation of the law. We'll see what happens. That's my stance too. And waaaaaaaaay too many want this to be something that they can hang GWB for so bad, they can taste it. That's the part that gets me mad.
  22. I think we're planning on option #2 - and a lot of that was based on this input - thanks to everyone for posting their two cents worth!! However, before we do that, we're going to go through a lot of other changes, and unveil them all at the same time. This new version soxtalk that's coming is going to totally kick ass. Stay tuned.

Hey cheat, can you forward me info on the newswire thing?
  24. It's not a "unbannable forum", FWIW. It's not an "anything goes" forum, either. The disclaimer simply means if we don't want to deal with the petty bulls***, we won't, but we still reserve that right, ESPECIALLY if it carries over to other forums.
