  1. Yep, the whole damn thing is Bush's fault. ALL of it. That motherf***ing prick asshole. How dare he f***ing breathe while he's taking a s*** so that people can second guess his every move.
  2. How many Americans would give up their life for a lot of things, such as freedom (TRUE freedom) of religion? Or some other things, that I'm too tired right now to contemplate? We are so damn spoiled.
  3. Wow. That puts a lot more pressure on the political climate in a time that really doesn't need it. However, let's not think about that for a couple of days, Mr. Rehnquist, we thank you for your years of service to your country. You will be missed.
  4. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:57 AM) And they're bulls***. You did not pay several hundred dollars for a class to take a crappy-ass Syllabus quiz. Hey prof--teach them something.
  5. Oh, thanks Soxy, and also to little southsiderette on the way!
  6. Happy Birthday to a great poster and a person who I consider to be a good friend!
  7. To southsider and mrs. southsider... May you all have very happy memories in your brand new house! (Oh, for those who have been paying attention, THEY HAVE THEIR NEW HOUSE NOW!)
  8. I hate my country when these douchebags start saying "so and so" deserved this. To clarify the point, I hate the citizens of my country. There's no need for this, and it TOTALLY disgusts me when people start talking like this. I'd just as soon kick these people upside the head then listen to their hate and spew. NO ONE deserves this. These people have lost everything, and all people can do is say "we deserved this". Again, I say, F*** YOU!
  9. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 11:55 PM) I just realized that a lot of people who lost people in the flood also probably lost everything else. So, they won't have pictures of loved ones, or any souviners (in the true meaning of the word) of them. How horrible. Being from here, I know a lot of people from my wife's work and my work that have relatives there. My cousin's from where Mississippi and Alabama meet right on the gulf. No one has heard from him for days. The stuff that is coming out of there just crushes me, the things I'm hearing. I am seriously thinking of going to the shelters here (there are a LOT of people here) this weekend and spending some time with these people.
  10. Hold the phone. I have a major announcement. f*** YOU to every one of these assholes who start this s*** right now. Man, I hate our country when this s*** starts, I really do.
  11. Cingular bites ass, at least here. I dropped at least two calls a day on it.
  12. I had trouble with T-Mobile as well, especially their billing. Back with Verizon, I am, I am. Can you hear me now? GOOD!
  13. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 10:20 AM) Regarding? Probably that the faint hopes of him playing this year just dropped from slight to absolutely nil.
  14. I was pretty busy, but I did look at the box scores and saw the highlights on the local news. Here's some thoughts. 19 RUNS OVER THREE GAMES: the offesnse seemed to hit their stride a little. It's about damn time. Maybe this is enough to kick start us a little. BMAC - I can't count how many people who were running around here saying he was going to get shelled, and he didn't deserve this start, etc etc etc... props to you, BMAC. His confidence has to be up because this is the team that had his number and he has to feel like the money is off his back. FIRST TWO GAMES - Guys and gals, we had SIX errors. We will NOT win many games with six errors over two games. Elminiate those errors and we are probably going to win one of those two games. As we've said many times, this team is built on defense and pitching. If we have six errors over two games, we won't win. We don't have any errors in game three, and we win 8-0. Mentally, the pitchers on this team do have trouble pitching over mistakes, and they get crushed on this board for it. That's one of the hardest things to do IMO as a pitcher. Yea, it's the major leagues, but teams at this level usually capitalize on mistakes. BOTTOM LINE - I see some positives coming out of this series, sans the defense, which is paying attention to the little things. Get that focus back on the defense, and we're doing ok, especially at the plate. There you go. You can debate it. Kap
  15. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 12:12 AM) Verizon rocks, although its a little more expensive than cingular/tmobile/att/etc I'm really happy with it though. We went with Verizon. West Texas is covered. I got the phone with the TV plan... that phone kicks ass. So now I get to watch TV on my cell phone.
  16. QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 09:44 PM) A.) To the idiots in the Ranger's organization who think McAllen, 750 miles away is part of their "local market" f*** You! B.) To the idiots at Time Warner who do not offer Ranger games here in the Rio Grande Valley, 750 miles south of Dallas, f*** You! C.) To the idiots at mlb.tv who have blocked me from today's games because of A and who don't care about B, f*** You! I cleared my schedule, stocked up on snacks and beverages, and patiently awaited BMac taking the mound with Garland as the opening act, and wham! I'm screwed. LMAO. /going home to turn on the game right now... I'm running a little late.
  17. I know many of you have asked this question before... but I'm sick of Cingular (dropped calls like crazy) and I want to switch. I think we're going with Verizon (BTW - I'm in Texas so local Chicago companies won't work - ie. US Cellular). Which nationwide company do you all recommend? Who has verizon? Are ya'll ok with it? I used to have Verizon and didn't have any issues with them... are they still pretty reliable?
  18. I'm going to go ahead and close this. I think it's pretty clear what we're after here, and I really appreciate the conversation that has taken place with this. Remember, it's all about respect. PM us with any questions, comments, concerns, or issues. Kap
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 07:37 PM) One thing I always respected about this site was that it was soxTALK.com, and not soxCHEERLEADING.com. pssst/// here comes Soxy//// maybe she can be our soxcheerleading.com rep!
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 07:37 PM) One thing I always respected about this site was that it was soxTALK.com, and not soxCHEERLEADING.com. Good point. And it will remain so, as long as there is respect behind it.
  21. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 07:17 PM) There was a reason I quit for a while... It wasn't worth it anymore. And if it can make me stop, its gotta be bad Ditto. Which is why I (among some others) felt so strongly about getting this brought under control. I like what you said about respect, ss. Gonna leave this open for about 30 more minutes, and that's it. Enough's enough. You all get this, I know you do. We're not going to be stupid about this. You all have to hold us accountable, and I would expect that from this community. It would be adviseable to stop looking for holes. RESPECT the site and the posters, and you're going to be fine. Surely, that's not so hard.
  22. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 07:10 PM) I hope these new guidelines don't create a crew of jackbooted mods tossing out threats of suspension every time they see something they disagree with. That's why WSI blows. (personal attack!) Today, I've already seen one mod threaten to suspend someone new for calling Konkerko "pop up Paulie" and asking if another poster is having a bad day, just because they were debating a point. I love reading the debates in here and occasionally jumping into the scrum. If there's a thread I don't like I treat it like the 700 Club -- I change the channel. Certainly calls for players to drop dead or that sort of thing should be treated differently. As should name calling. But there seems to be a rather large gray area here. Let's hope it's not abused. And that admin who "threatened" asked for it to not be used, not suspend someone. And in fact, we discussed it and clarified that it's ok as long it is not abused. This will be something that changes. RESPECT and not abusing people is what this is about. Again, I ask, why is that so hard for people to accept? And a "mod" (that was me who was interacting in that thread) didn't ask if another poster was having a bad day. Re-read the thread. R-E-S-P-E-C-T is what we are asking for. That's all.
  23. These people should be shot on site.
  24. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 06:37 PM) I like knowing that you guys are going to crack down on the personal attacks. However that is really only one of the many problems that have plagued this site lately. I realize that the Sox might not have the biggest track record of success lately, but it's almost sickening that you can come on a White Sox fan site and see so much negativity directed at the team. Now I'm not talking about guys like Fathom, I at least respect him because he always stays consistant with his opinions even if I don't agree with him. I'm talking about the ones that change their minds at the drop of a hat. ...and before one of you has a chance to point it out yes I was guilty of not being the most positive person myself for the first 6 months or so that I joined the site, but I was far from bashing a first place team into the ground. I'd like to think that I was at least consistant in my opinions. I'm just so darn sick of seeing the same people who bash the offense and demand KGJ when we lose praise the offense and act like were world beaters when we win. I agree, Jeckle, but that's something that we have to live with. Pale Hose Talk is a "pulse" of the White Sox, good, bad, or ugly. And that's the reality of it. But we don't want the "pulse" to become a cancer and it was starting to get that way.
  25. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 06:31 PM) ???? I'm not up on your hip Internet lingo. Great Minds Think Alike. We posted about the same thing at the same time.
