QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 07:22 PM) I mean, could it be posted/updated on the top of the game thread page or on the home page? Interesting idea, Buffalo. I will work on something later.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 05:00 PM) When did Iguchi become our best hitter? He is batting a WHOPPING 6 points higher than Konerko. What about his clutch stats, you know the thing that Konerko gets bashed so much for? Iguchi's batting ROBUST .237 w/RISP. He strikes out at a higher rate than any of our other hitters. Walks less than Konerko, and hits for less power than Konerko. Tell me again, How is this guy 'our best hitter?' Pwned.

QUOTE(ceffa2000 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 04:18 PM) Its interesting b/c the Playoffs are all about Big Game pitchers and stepping up to the plate. If you look down our rotation, the only one (and I'm going to be jumped on) who hasn't shown that side of himself yet this year is Buehrle. Now I'm not saying that he isn't our ace or anything but look at who has given us huge starts lately, minus last night. Garcia, Contreras and El Duque. Garland has been shakey but he's come through in the clutch this season. This is why it presents a difficult (but welcome) problem of who to start in the post season. And I certainly don't have the answer. But I give the pitching staff an A+ this year on making the adjustments needed to be competetive. I wish the hitters would adjust their game as well at the plate. If that were to happen, this team will knock some heads come playoff time.

I think he'll do just fine. So when are you all coming to see me?

Hey man, you all get here, we've got plenty of room. PARTAY AT KAP'S HOUSE!

The banner works. We win with it. This will be the banner for October, focking dammit.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) Sorry, being in Texas and all, it looked a lot like a Nolan Ryan v. Robin Ventura fight. Damn, now I really want to make the 1000 mile round trip to Dallas. Hey Kap, got a guest room? I think a Bmac start is just what the team needs. LMAO. Yep. We have too much room in this damn house. I want to go but I think I have almost no shot at going - I can't get off work as it's budget season.

Source Now THIS is funny. Maybe we need it for our eyes in Palehose forum.

Cleveland is STACKED in their system. They get a couple of more arms, and look out, it's the 90's stranglehold on the Central coming right back at us.

QUOTE(winodj @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 01:58 PM) I hate gas is a bargain comparisons. That's such bullcrap. Yeah, gas is still cheaper than milk, but how often do you buy 10 gallons of milk to go to work? Word.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 02:40 PM) Any word on Shannon Stewart playing tonight? I had read somewhere this morning that he was a no-go.

QUOTE(TheDybber @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 09:44 PM) And trade him to the Thrashers for Dany Heatley. Hossa to Thrashers Wow, I'm surprised Waddell did this. Ballsy move, and probably a good one, for all parties. -
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 06:49 PM) OMG...I was about to post something so bad I would get banned from not only SoxTalk but every message board on the internet! Then, I scrolled down and my rage subsided. Take some anger management classes, you little, young, don't know anything whippersnapper.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 07:51 PM) Unless you're on the White House staff. ZING. I was wondering when that was coming. It didn't take too long.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 04:20 PM) No not at all. I want a canditate on the other side that will force this group to get back to some true conservative values that I believe in. I want to see them talking about smaller government, less taxes, less intrusion, etc. With Kerry all they will do is run another soundbyte campaign, with no substance in response to Kerry's "I'm not Bush" campaign. I don't give a micros*** if this person is a Democrat or Republican, they get my vote if they REALLY stand for these beliefs. The problem is, no such candidate exists because all the damn dollars start telling them how they think right after they get nominated. I HATE our government right now, because it's so corrupt. But I don't Terry McVeigh hate it - better put that disclaimer in there before the FBI comes knocking on my door.

Oh, and this just in, we are all 100% going to die. Some statisitcs can't be manipulated.
-
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 05:52 PM) Since some are comparing smoking to driving a car and sky diving, does anyone have the statistics? I would assume that the statistics would be much higher for dying from smoking than from driving, especially when considering the large volume of people that drive and the fact that driving takes up much more time than smoking, but I'm not sure. Then you would have to look at the population, and determine the number of smokers vs. skydivers vs. drivers and figure out the rates directly attributable to dying from each. Too much damn work and it's rather pointless, as steff has said I think 4 times in this thread now.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 04:04 AM) Well, that is your opinion. And I respect that last sentence you put in your post...unless your bulls***ting me. No. I seriously am glad that you have things figured out as to what you want to do. Some people go through life not knowing at all. It's a compliment. Just don't be afraid of the curveballs you're going to get thrown, because there will be some. You don't have it all figured out, no one does, from that sense.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 02:28 AM) It is pretty high amongst the more observant Shia, but like you I don't know what percentage of the population that really is. It is important, and a positive point I think, tht as al-Hasani pointeed out, the compromise langiage on the role of Shariah wnt into the draft - invokint that Islam is "a" main soiurce of law and not "the" main source of law. What that concession would actually mean for women's rights, etc., remains to be seen. It wil be quite the kick in the pants if it turns out we're just getting another Iran for all our trouble. I think that is what a lot of folks in the higher levels of government are starting to think.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 03:59 AM) WHAT!?!?! :banghead :banghead :banghead :headshake :headshake :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead If you'd stop reacting to individual sentances out of context, maybe you'd stop having a heart attack every time you read one of my posts. I like the 250,000 mg chill pill, that's pretty damn funny.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 03:51 AM) Oh my god. If I hear one more thing about how f***ing young I am I am going to hang myself. Seriosuly, I am going through the same s*** he is. Can you please get off my back about my age already. I am 15 and I will be 16 this Saturday. 5 days away. I will be a junior in high school this coming year and I will be taking my ACT's and SAT's and I will be applying to colleges and I HAVE been talking to colleges such as Grand Valley State, Rutgers, UMinn, So. Miss, and a number of other schools about accepting me into their college and talking them about the major that I have chosen. Yes, I have already chosen my major. Wow. Holy s***. He chose his major. But wait, I am like 7 years old right? How have I already chosen my major. I have. It's Broadcast Journalism and Communication. Are you happy? I hope that answers your damn question! Besides, I never told him what to do. Did you read the post? Did you skip the "in the end, it is all up to you" part!?!?!? :End of Rant: Now, Tadahito15, sorry for high-jacking the thread a bit, but like I said, do what your heart says and do what you will enjoy... Your rant is misdirected. The point is you act like you know everything about everything, and then you have to qualify it by how many university letters you have. I'll leave you alone now, since you know it all anyway. I was originally just joking with you earlier hence the "although your premise is mostly right" line, but you read right over that. I'm glad you have everything figured out; you're ahead of the rest of us old bastards around here, anyway.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 03:33 AM) Always go with the head. Oh, wait, that's not what you're talking about. Nevermind then... Honestly and seriously though...go with your heart IMO. Think about it long-term. Who in their right god-damn minds wants to wake up and think "MOTHERf***ER! I GOTTA GO TO WORK TODAY! AHH!" You should always do thinkgs in life that you enjoy IMO. Go for the sport's management but remember, in the end, it is all up to you. Do what you love and enjoy it and savor it because you never know what the future holds...good luck buddy. No offense, but how old are you again? And you're telling people what to do in life? Hmmmmm. Although, your premise is mostly right. Here's the thing. When you are in college, you will start to make financial choices. MAKE THOSE CHOICES BASED ON THE LIFESTYLE YOU WANT OR CAN AFFORD when you get out. For example, if you borrow a lot to get through school, sports management unless you get really lucky and get hooked up through an internship or get a contact while in school might not pay the bills. Whereas if you work your way through school with some hard work and have little debt and don't get some hot chick pregnant or something (in other words few responsibilities - and YES drive that clunker, forget the new car right out of school) you are a little more flexible to pursue your dreams. I hope that makes sense. Bottom line, life is about choices. Be smart, and dream big.
