So we're "fighting for" an Islamic State - very similiar to Iran. No surprise there.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 12:06 PM) I am expanding celebrity here a bit to include Hot Chicks III - THE REVENGE OF THE POWER WOMAN! Only women in power suits can be posted. Something tells me that this contest is over before it starts, oh what a shame.

If it is Clemens, I'm really sad about it. The guy is incredible and doesn't need that crap to play at a level above. Seriously, that leaves me TERRIBLY disappointed.

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 06:44 PM) Uhhh.. yea. He, as a private owner, would be delivering directly to the final customer. Which is why I said... "As the owner of a private trucking company I don't think his customers would be the type to be passing anything onto consumers." You and your damn semantics. We all need to have a Steff Semantics class so we can make our time more enjoyable at soxtalk. P.S. I got what you said the first time, but if you read it quick, you won't.

Jumping in here late, but I think the scouting of this team has finally caught up with it. "Flying under the radar" works when you don't have the best record in baseball. This team since right before the ASB has been scouted, rescouted, and I bet that the scouts can pretty much tell you when our batters are scheduled to take a s***. They know every tendency, every everything. GOOD TEAMS adjust. Let's see how long it takes. If they don't, it tells you something.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 08:15 PM) Remember you are talking to the guy who predicted $3 gas earlier this spring... $5 gas isn't that far out of the question. If we get one terror attack in the United States on the energy sector (a refinary would be the worst) Crude Oil at $100 a barrel would not shock me at all. Most likely without an extraordinary happening, we won't see anything more than where we are now. Really these prices are going to start to cripple sectors of the economy and reduce demand that way. These price levels are pretty unsustainable long term, and if they do stay here long term, we are going to have an ugly recession. And a recession wouldn't be a pretty thing now because so many people are so far in debt, that bankruptcies and foreclosures would go nuts. Like I said, personally I think we are at, or near, the highs unless we get attacked. If that happens all bets are off. Oh really? No one will be able to declare bankruptcy because of the new laws. Funny how THAT works.

http://www.suntimes.com/output/news/cst-nws-gas17.html If this happens, call it the Great Depression II, because we will have triple the unemployment rate currently, and about 15% inflation on top of it.

You know, if you all can put this link in your blog with "Storm Ice Hockey" that would be GREAT. (shameless self promotion). This is something that will be special in due course, and I know that some aren't hockey fans, but if you can help out, that's a great thing right now.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 10:06 PM) Anyone with a blog on Blogger, create a post titled Storm Ice Hockey Academy with this as the body. Google owns Blogger, so it's indexed within the hour... Kap I suggest you make some spam blogs to get it indexed quickly. <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey Academdy</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey Academdy</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey Academdy</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey Academdy</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey Academdy</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey Academdy</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey Academdy</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey Academdy</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey Academdy</a> Ok, I get it, but I don't. Do I just go create a bunch of blogs and put those links in there?

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 08:17 PM) I can understand the sentiment. At the same time I think the no panhandling laws can really screw up the vibe of a city if they get carried away. When they started making the street musicians all wear badges and work assigned corners in downtown chicago in the 80s it was odd but I got used to it. But in places down here like St. Augustine, they have gone draconian and have outright banned street performers. St. Augustine is a really neat old city (the oldest in America actually), and the street musicians along the major walking boulevard added a huge amount of character. Now they're just trying to sterilize the place and the cultural feel of the town has suffered for it. I would agree that goes too far. I don't know if the law as written goes that far here in Dallas or not. Interesting thought.
-
I know I will probably come off as an insensitive bastard, but I think this law is a good thing. They did this in Dallas a year ago, and it makes a big difference on the street corners, it really does. Besides that, if I want to help out a homeless person, there's a lot of ways besides giving money to someone on a street corner, and often times that money is used to support habits and such that put them right back on the street corner the next day. The only time I think it sucks is Labor Day, when the fireman can't collect for Jerry's kids.

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 07:51 PM) I have a "lump" that doean't feel right and seems to be the source of the pain. I'll deal with it a few days and see how it goes. Thanks 562004 It sounds to me like you have a small strain and generally, your bodies' muscles usually bunch up to protect things like that, which might explain the bunching up of the muscles. If that's the case, you'll feel better in about two days after the muscles let go. But I ain't no doc, this is just from personal experience.

Wow, so MB sucks now? God, I love this f***ing board.

QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 07:48 PM) I am not sure why people are getting their shorts in a twist because some posters don't think she is this great writer. She seem decent at what she does, but considering it's her profession, I would hope she would be at least decent. Because people on this site are f***ing hypocrites. They are so quick to b**** about everything under the sun and they can't do any better. Sleepy, no one here said they could do any better, no one is trying. And not you in particular, but most people in this thread bash s*** just because they have no CLUE what it takes to be successful in ANYTHING but sitting here b****ing about what is and is not f***ed up and stupid. It's just like the game threads, and the posts about the players. No one on this damn board, except the players that are signed up, can play baseball (professionally), but boy, we sure are good at talking about what pieces of s*** they all are. It's f***ed up. People need to get a real good idea of real life, and stop hiding behind their damn computer screens criticizing everything and anything.
