  1. Every president says what they want, when they want. It's not just our "cowboy" president.
  2. According to the Supreme Court, this violates the separation of church and state. So... better get those mf'in sand blasters out and start sand blasting all those buildings in DC that have ANYTHING to do with religion of any kind.
  3. So if we enter into talks with North Korea, we're negotiating with terrorists there, too, aren't we? There's no winning with anyone.
  4. That is something I remember when I was stuck in Indiana looking in Chicago... if you want to live downtown it's crazy expensive, but you don't have to have a car. So, either way I guess you make do. I love the city of Chicago - but I do know that October 15 - March 15, I'm glad I'm here. Edit: As far as IT goes, you will find that Dallas is a better market then Chicago, although Chicago you'd make a little more because there's less jobs (see supply and demand). It's easier to find an IT job here then it is up there, that much I can tell you for sure. Good luck!
  5. Unfortunately, he will have a hard time. It's NOT what he could have done, it's what he did do. And based on that, he has a hard time getting in. Albert was a damn good hitter, no doubt. But I'm not sure about being good enough on his actual career to get in the HoF.
  6. Now other then the Sox and summer, why in the HELL would you want to go back to Chicago from Dallas?

    Favorite airport?

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 04:48 PM) Manchester airport in New Hampshire. You can be in or out of that place in 5 minutes. Plus, there's no tax on the magazines, gum, etc. That's right, I forgot about that. No sales tax in New Hampshire.
  8. QUOTE(POPPY_HIDALGO @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 01:17 AM) Who would have predicted that happening? POOOOOOOOOOOPPPPPY! Holy s***, where have you been? Oh, I know. The team's been winning, and the first scent of them losing anything brings your ass back out. Nice to see you again!
  9. I turned on the game - one of the few I have tuned in specifically on WGN today (usually I watch on mlb.tv)... and all I have to say is f***. It's my fault. The game's off now. Time for a comback.

    Favorite airport?

People crack me up. "you mean, we're supposed to take off our shoes"? "yes maam" "oh my god, I CAN'T do that. my feet will get dirty!" I've heard that at an airport. Bunch of stupid asses.
  11. I tend to agree that a POWER PITCHER is what we lack. We have a lot of guys who are more the "finesse" type, which candidly don't have as much success in the playoffs when the strike zone mysteriously becomes a little smaller. We need a guy who can take the ball in a game when we need it and put the opponents on the defensive. I don't give a damn if he's a #1 or a #5 right now - as long as that requirement is met, go get him, and trade talent to get it, because it will put us "over the top".
  12. You have to like the way the role players on this team fit right in the kog that is the 2005 White Sox. No matter who plays, it seems (except thise third games in a series, hehe) we keep right on chugging. And I think that's a great sign of a very fundamentally sound ballclub. That's Ozzie's doing, whether or not you want to admit it.
  13. QUOTE(VAfan @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 01:57 AM) Okay. Good suggestion. But I don't see where to do it. The only Avatar or signature links I see under My Controls are for my own. I don't see how to turn off everyone elses. I think I have figured it out. Thanks. So at this point I would be happy to delete this post, though I still think people should try to write less personal chit chat and more baseball info that a stranger might be interested in reading. Your words are well taken. However, I would like you to consider that the pride we have in soxtalk is to allow Sox fans of all flavors, young, old, knowledgeable, and some newbies to converse in a place that there are little restrictions on content. Some good relationships and friendships away from the game have blossomed from this site, and that's why we try to let the content take a course of its own. Please do, however, keep the comments and ideas coming. If you would ever want to talk more with any of the admins here, click on the red names at the bottom and shoot them a private message. Again, thanks for the comments. We appreciate it. Kap
  14. Had to "clean the thread" now I'm all supersticious...
  15. Greeeeeat, just what we need, a hardline extremeist in Iran... it'll be a wonder if we're here in 10 years to talk about this so-called Earth after we're all blown to smithereens by nuking the s*** out of each other. Ah hell, Putin will give his friends nuclear material, no problem!
  16. I will say this too (then I got to get on the road to home)... The weather's hot, and the Sox bats come alive. Happens every year like this. I don't know why I always worry in April when it's cold. Difference is this year we have a pitching staff to back it up. Ain't that a nice thing to have after all this time? Anyway, I'm off to home. Check back in later... And assuming they win today... HELL YEA!
  17. QUOTE(BuehrleTheAce @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 10:25 PM) He'll probably blame this treatment by the White Sox for ruining the rest of the Cubbies season. I hope he's stupid enough to say that because he'd never live it down. The only way this game really matters is to back it up over the weekend. Period.
  18. Just saw the score... HOLY EAT s*** BATMAN!!!! HELL YEA!!!!!!!! I know it ain't over yet but damn... what news to see!

    Favorite airport?

I like Casablanca's airport. That place was amazing. They had gold lined walls with cascading water from ceiling to floor. I was shocked to see that.
  20. Of course I'll talk out of both sides of my mouth, but what about the houses that are being destroyed in Arlington Texas for a new Cowboys Stadium? How's this different? Just curious about the responses about this.
  21. I read the case and (parts) of the opinion by John Paul Stevens and I just about died. I'll give you that the parts may have been the juicy parts and out of context, but I don't think so from what I've read. I just can't see how property tax considerations gives a local government the right to excercise emminent domain, which is what this boils down to.
  22. QUOTE(Yossarian @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 06:15 PM) A horrible, abominable decision that could lead to bloodshed. There has to be some legislative relief. First you have so called conservatives taking medical marijuana away from pain wracked, terminally ill patients. Now you have so called liberals taking away grandma's house so someone can build a stripmall. It's high time for a real third party to take charge in this country. Remember Peter Finch in the movie Network? Well everyone should be "mad as hell." Yea, we're mad as hell and powerless. Or something. All kidding aside, too many people in this people are baaaa baaaaaa baaaaa sheep. They don't know enough to be mad. And that's the most pathetic of all. Now you have that representation in the highest court of the land, on both sides of many issues. These assf***s have no concern what-so-ever of a document written 216 years ago, they only care about society today. It's that short-sitedness that will lead to the downfall of this country.

    Favorite airport?

Dallas is either really good or really bad. There's usually not an in between. Personally, I like DFW but I know it probably better then any other airport in the country. Boston SUCKS. So does Newark. LAX, meh, it's ok, but I've only been there once. IAH is pretty good. MIA is nuts. Watch your crap when you walk around there. MCO (Orlando) is pretty cool. Man, if I had to list all the airports I've been to... it'd take me a page. Detroit was the worst airport in the country before the renovations. Now it's not so bad. Anyway... enough about that, huh?
