LMAO, 1. Your ideal theoretical candidate. (100%) Click here for info 2. Bush, President George W. - Republican (63%) Click here for info 3. Kerry, Senator John, MA - Democrat (52%) Click here for info So that means I am on the fence on every issue. I love these.

I don't think either will happen.
-
I'm not a Jose fan, but he sucks 'em up pretty good, where he gets in trouble is when he has to throw the ball. He's done a lot better last and this year, though.
-
Minnesota generally plays its best ball this time of year. The sox don't. The Cubs are no slouch, and Arizona is. As long as we keep pace, the second half, as others have said, will separate the pretenders from the real deal.

That part I agree with, but you can't pin the blame solely on this Administration. Congress voted for it as well, the blame lies with the entire government. One John Kerry voted FOR this measure. That's why I have real issues with our government in general, all of them, because as Apu has stated so many times in the last couple of weeks, they are all in the pockets of the same people at the end of it all, and it's sad, because us common folks mean virtually nothing.

And some would say that Bush is taking us down the same path, without the public speaking skills, of course.

Gawn...

It's a little early until tomorrrow but since the board says it, Happy Birthday!!

It really scares me the way these so-called politicans, I don't care what party you're from, are taking this country. The rich get fatter, democrat or republican. I guess it really bugs me when I hear Hillary say (paraphrasing) in front of her party faithful, that they are all going to pay more in taxes so the wealth can be redistributed. Since when does our government owe that to us? We are becoming a more socialized state in many respects. Nationalism runs rampant here, because by God, we're Americans, and God mandated us to be what we are today (cough, cough). I hear that a lot on right-wing talk shows and it makes me want to vomit. :puke :puke (there I feel better). To take us down the path of creating a bigger government where they have more control, just scares me, and with Patriot Act, etc. that is the direction we are heading. Then, to push it on other countries, ie Iraq, shows us as rather arrogant, me thinks. That's the seeds that can be comared to empires, and they all fall down at some point.

You let me know when "BUSH/CHENEY" actually SUES churches for not following their mandate. I'll be waiting for a while. I know what you're saying, but you're parsing something here, and slivering it to fit your needs. Yes, mommy, they all do it. But *gasp*, "My Democrats are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo righteous" that they would never push to eliminate military votes. I don't mean to start that whole thing again, because both sides were completely wrong in 2000, we know it. But let me guess. The 2000 election "was stolen". Bitter, table of one? That would be why all this stuff gets parsed to make everything so one sided. Bush sucks balls, Cheney hangs off of them. (or the other way around... ) We all know it. But it strikes me as quite funny when Dems never, ever, do no wrong, in less inconspicuous ways. The only thing is Bush/Cheney are dumbasses for flaunting it, but you know what they are up to, as opposed to the Dems, who do the same things without it going public. So, yes, mommy, THEY ALL DO IT. And last but not least, Bush/Cheney are wrong for this. I think the action itself is despicable, tasteless, shameless, desparate, etc. But remember, mommy, they all do it. You just won't see the dems get the press on it.

Let me rephrase, as I see what you're saying, but I'm talking about the spirit of what's happening here and not necessarily the act itself. In most inner city churches that I have been exposed to, the same types of things happen - at least the ones I've seen down here, but it's not nearly as clear in terms of "lawbreaking" as you're putting it, but when the "get out the vote" mantra is happening, it's to push a Democratic Agenda. I have a good set of freinds that attend a congregation down here that while they are never told which party to vote for, you know where the message is coming from, because "that other party" is getting the message out there and, "we're not gonna let that stand, are we", stuff starts going on. Low and behold, Dem flyers start showing up in their mailboxes because they're considered "inner city folks" who tend to vote Democratic. It's not a direct correlation, but, c'mon... again it happens both ways, just not specific to this law you're pointing out. As I said above, I agree with FSJ's assessment. You are taking a particular facet of this and making it sound like it's totally unique. In this instance, yes, it's a violation or intent to violate what the spirit of the law that was intended, but the other side does too, that was my point.

Aboz, and Confed, do you listen to talk radio much?

I don't know if I said this here or not, but. I of course haven't seen the film, as I stated, I would like to but I am not going to spend money on it. I'll see it before the election I am sure. The reason we went into Iraq is we had to get the economy going. Anytime there is a war, the government has to spend money on it, therein turning money through the economy and making it grow. War makes money. Take defense spending out of all these "GREAT ECONOMIC NUMBERS" and see what you're left with. For all you "blind Bush supporters", think about that. I DO support Bush more then I do Kerry, that's obvious, but see the other side too. I could expand on the above paragraph for hours and point out a lot more things behind it, but time I do not have right now, but the thought is definitely true.
-
I actually agree with you on this one, FSJ. As Baggio rightly points out, though, let's not use Jesse Jackson, but what about the Rev. Al Sharpton? Now you KNOW the same type of thing is going on in reverse. But, to try to bring people along in a political spin, either Dem or Repub, and tie that to their "faith" is rediculous, and downright shameful, no matter which party is doing it, and it HAPPENS BOTH WAYS.

Priest Steals $46,000+ from Parish in Joliet

Tell us how you really feel... Seriously, though, that is one despicable act. -
Yea, he'll bust his ass running down a fly ball. He'll bust his ass in a gapper situation to get to second, etc. The point is though, when you hit the ball, GO. In other words, go about your business, don't stand there and admire. It's bad sportsmanship, IMO. Whether it's Berroids swinging and strutting, or ShamME doing his hop on a fly ball, or Carlos standing there and admiring, it's bad class. Other areas of his game can overshadow that, but how many people on here would scream bloody murder if in the playoffs it cost him a potential game tying double? That's what I am talking about. It's rare, yea, but it's a BAD habit. It's not bashing the snot out of Carlos. It's me wishing that he would work on a weakness that can be dearly costly down the road. If it were once, it would be one thing, but more then that, bad habits can cost you and your team games.

Met Barnaby a while back, and like most of them, off the ice they're pretty cool. I really don't like Barnaby's antics either, but, actually, when he wants to play he's pretty decent.
-
Why don't people think showboating is bad? Don't EVER b**** about Sammy on this board ever again if it's ok for Carlos to do it, because if you do you're a hypocrite.
-
Sliced bread is over-rated too.
-
Indeed, I'm being a hard ass, but that stuff makes me sick. It's a bad pet peeve of mine, so I jumped on the soapbox.
-
Any of you "baseball purists" out there should be sickened by "hot dogging". PERIOD. This is a game that's meant to be played hard, not just admiring yourself. That's why I can't stand Berroids or ShamME. Damn egos. And I really don't want to think of Carlos that way, but frankly, he is, and not near as good.
