Mmm... OK, thanks for clearing that up jackie.

Can anyone alude (sp?) as to why Brice (in limited ABs) only put up a .333 OBP at Winston Salem, while at all other levels, he was putting up a much higher OBP? Or am I reading too much into 167 ABs?
-
Paully is FAR from a star... Stars are able to do a little better than a .239 AVG on the road... And comparing Konerko to the likes of Mays and Bonds is just silly.
-
You're kidding, right? What shortstop is better? You should have said, which shortstops "aren't" better, but anyways... Miguel Tejada, Bobby Crosby, Edgar Renteria, Derek Jeter, Jack Wilson, Rafeal Furcal, Julio Lugo. Need I keep going, because there's still a lot more too... I can do the same for second basemen and third basemen too, but I figure I'll save you a little respect. BTW - the question "What of is better" - makes absolutely no sense... It would help if, at the very least, you could make sense out of your sentences...

Unfortunately, the money that was freed up by Maggs has already been used in the Garcia extension and in Contreras' next two years on the Sox...
-
That's what we thought in 2003 when we acquired Colon... That's what we thought midseason 2004 when we acquired Garcia (though injuries to Thomas and Ordonez didn't help much...). You have seen Konerko's road splits, correct? Not good at all. We can win at home. We need to become a better road team. We have too many right handed sluggers, and if trading Paully means an upgrade in our rotation, bullpen, or even getting a leadoff hitter, you gotta do it...

Damn, just two more days until this game hits the shelves. f***, I'm so pumped up, I already got GTA, now I'll have Halo 2. It's gonna be such an awesome game, I cannot wait... Halo 2!!!! YES!

I agree with you, Cabrera would hit well here. However, we need to get away from the low-OBP, good power guys. And, I do agree with you that four million per year might be a bit too much for Omar -- however, it's only a two year deal, so I don't think it should cripple us (financially) too much.

How is he a better player? His mediocre OBP compared to Vizquel's (.316 career to .341 career)...? Or is it Cabrera's gold glove caliber skills at shortstop that make him the better player (even though Cabrera only ranks better than Vizquel in RF, Vizquel with the better F% and ZR)...? Or is it Cabrera's "uncanny" leadership skills that make him better than Vizquel? :rolly
-
Go right ahead, Jason. Hell, most of you guys know more about Lucy (and other prospects in general) than I do, so feel free to add anything you'd like...
-
I assume Cabrera showed these 'leadership' skills in throwing an elbow at Renteria in Game One of the ALCS...? :rolly Saying Cabrera is as much of a leader as Vizquel is pretty silly, to say the least... JMHO. EDIT: And offensively, how can you call Cabrera "three times the hitter" Vizquel is? Cabrera has only had one year with a respectable OBP (.347 in '03, most other times 20+ points less than that, if not more), and only twice in his career has he hit above .290. While Vizquel in not the man he once was with the stick, he still is able to draw his share of walks (leading to a much higher OBP than Cabrera -- putting it another way, if Vizquel were to have a bad year OBP-wise -- .320 or so -- that's where Cabrera is normally at). Plus, Vizquel is able to do all the little things right, which is exactly what this team needs... And if you're going to argue against stats, it's pointless in even having a discussion with you.

I thought that was Mulder, but I could definitely be wrong about that...

Donny Lucy got off to a bit of a slow start last year in the Pioneer League with Great Falls, but hopefully he'll be able to rebound. Per Minorleaguebaseball.com: AVG G AB R H RBI 2B 3B HR BB SO SB CS .239 50 176 19 42 26 7 1 1 17 36 13 1 Pretty good speed though for a catcher -- 13 SB, only one caught stealing. Also, showed some pretty good discipline at the plate. Then again, this is an awfully small sample size to take anything from it.

Not true at all. While he has his mental lapses, no one on this team outside of Aaron Rowand goes harder into second base than Carlos Lee. Secondly, you say that he's 'lazy' in getting to balls hit in the outfield, yet he was in the top of the league for left fielders in range factor and zone rating. So, that isn't true either. Finally, Lee has shown us all aspects of his game. He just has to put it all together for one season, which, IMHO, and the opinion of many others, he's ready to do. He's shown us the ability to draw walks (2002 second half, a ton of walks), he's shown the ability to flat out hit the ball (27 game hit streak), and he's shown the ability to pop the ball out of the yard (30+ homers each of the last two seasons). So, to say that he's lazy, or that he hasn't improved his all-around game, is complete and utter bulls***.

The "I Can't Fucking Wait Till Tuesday" Thread

For Z's mission in San Fierro, anyone have any advice on how to fly the plane? I've tried it a couple of times, and it's a real b****... -
A team gelling together because of a fight is a lot different than one guy intentionally going out and hurting a guy purposely...

One of the oysters that could be found is in that one guy's pool, the mission where you have to steal that one guy's Rhyme Book in Los Santos. -
Bulls off to a poor start from the field. A couple of nice looks, but some real ugly misses...
-
OK - thanks for getting me up to date, Qwert. How good is he, and how old is he? Well, he starts the Bulls off with a 2-0 start.
-
OK then, a couple more questions. Why isn't he starting, and where is Eddie Curry? I assume Kidd is injured, but why wasn't Curry even announced as a bench player? Last thing, I promise -- how did the Bulls aquire Othella Harrington, and how good of a player is he? What does he do well? Sorry, I'm just trying to catch up a bit here...
-
Forgive me for being NBA stupid this offseason, but where is Jason Kidd?
-
True -- because no one on this board -- not Knuckle, not anyone -- knows what really is going on inside Billy Beane's head at this point. I'm just saying, you guys (hi8, knuckle) can't say he's not going to trade one of the Three just because of a quote...

Here's the Link.

LOL! What do you expect him to say? "I'm looking into trading Tim Hudson or Barry Zito. We're not gonna resign Hudson, so we definitely want to trade one of the two..." :rolly

Pitcher Buddy Groom's option has been declined by the Orioles. I'll find a link in a minute. EDIT: Link from Rotoworld
