QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 04:31 PM) "Flirting with 300" Is that 30 very hot chicks? Well he nailed 10 of them who were stunning, and the other 20 were decent to meh, so he's hitting a legit homerun 3 out of every 10 at bats. BTW Steve, you suck for starting this thread basically jinxing Slayer today.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 01:34 AM) Jon Link, Jhonny Nunez, Fernando Hernandez, Carlos Torres, Derek Rodriguez, Adam Russell... If you're not going to use him, send him to AAA and let him continue working as a SP. I was thinking of those guys as well.... until the sox traded Brandon Allen away to get Tony Pena, so I'm thinking the org. doesn't have any confidence in the others/aren't high on the relievers/or don't think the younger pitchers are quite ready yet.

Minor League Catch-All thread 2009 edition

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 12:55 AM) Wait, I don't think anyone thought Posey was going to fall to the Sox pick. I remember gushing over the thought of Posey falling, in fact, Posey "fell" to the Giants IIRC. Jason Castro was the catcher everyone was surprised went as high as he did (to the Astros). Castro has been exceptional in the minors thus far as well. God damn Jas you are correct. I had them both confused. It was Castro. He is the one who is making alot of people look stupid so far. -

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 11:01 PM) Buster Posey has put up some awesome numbers in the minors. The future is bright in San Francisco. He and SF are making alot of people look stupid so far. Many scouts, analyst, and many people here (inc. myself) thought he was picked way too high/alot higher than he was projected to fall. SF scouts saw something in him to think otherwise, and so far.. he's showing what they saw. -
Holmberg with a nice outing in relief for Bristol.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 05:36 PM) Thank you lord. You must have gotten a new job or something you black asshole.

1.5 back b****es.

Bobby's era was 7+ in his career vs these guys. That's probably gonna rise a bit.
-
Fastball strike 3 (**throw's a curve**) Thank god Mark Grace is in the booth.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 05:28 PM) Jenks looking rusty? He's been terrible in his career versus the Orioles. One of those teams that has a pitcher's number.

QUOTE (beautox @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 05:24 PM) yup do you think the rays are kicking themselves a little bit, i realize they've got bartlett and brignac but still. Gordon Beckham > Tim Beckham No. The Cincinatti Reds made the big mistake on passing for Beckham to get Alonzo when they had Votto already manning 1B and had no middle IF spects. So far.. really hasn't worked out for them, and might regret that for a long time.

Slayer.. 3-4, RBI, run.

QUOTE (ChiSox420* @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 05:14 PM) Ball 4... Strike 3!!!!!! Ya I LOL'd that.

We mighta gotten a break on that high call, but we'll take it!
-
If the sox lose this game, it'll be for two reasons. 9 LOB, Ozzie's managing.
-
I don't think there is or will ever be a sox fan alive that hates Mark Buehrle.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 04:44 PM) Fixed. But.. But... I thought it was amazing what a bunt can do?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 04:36 PM) He's hitting .327 with a .881 OPS in July. I'd be impressed, except Getz is showing him up by hitting .375 with a .932 OPS in July. I'll say it again. I want those two manning 2B and SS for a long time here. They look like they have good chemistry together, especially the communication on the field.

QUOTE (beautox @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 04:32 PM) beckham up to .290 God damn he's such a stud.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 04:04 PM) I’m at the point where I’m angrier at Wises’ presence on this team then I was at Jerry Owens’. I think it's because Wise had a prior track record of suck. where as the reasonable assumption was that Owens would be terrible. I still blame the organization more than Wise. He is what he is, and if people thought he would be better, especially for a 8+ year journeymen, than that's sad. He and Owens have no buisness on an MLB team anyways.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 17, 2009 -> 06:04 PM) No s***. I never knew you were interested in law enforcement. Unless certified officer applies to some other profession I'm too stupid to figure out. Either way, good luck. Well I wasn't at first, actually... I HATE the police, but when you get older, you learn to forgive and mature it out. I'm already a ceritifed armed security officer. Mighta made that % too big cause I got a looong ways to go. But so far, good step. And if anybody tries to f*** with me, me and my 100% gun accuracy will take care of your ass.

These last weeks have been hell for me, but like they say.. there's a light at the end of the tunnel. I am 70% close on becomming a certified officer in Chicago.

QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 15, 2009 -> 06:54 PM) The issue isn't where Richard falls in the rotation, it is that Richard is in the rotation at all. OT:God damn Willie is back posting again. W00T! ST isn't fooling around with the sexy posters comming back. FOP, SuperSteve, WHarris1, Hammerhead Johnson from time to time. Now back to on topic, even though Richard has been pitching poorly of late, I still like him. Sure he and Poreda should/could have reversed, but I still think Poreda is still some kind of plan for the brass whether it's moving him along slowly, or trade bait to not reduce value.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 14, 2009 -> 04:57 PM) Eh, if you were still in Iowa, you'd have known about her a couple of years ago. She's a HUGE deal in this state, and you'd be hard pressed to find someone who doesn't know of her here. Well you guys don't have much out there. I mean the only crime that is there constantly is if a cow has too much milk.

QUOTE (Mr. Showtime @ Jul 13, 2009 -> 11:14 PM) I wouldn't be shocked if Tallon was fired at some point in the next few months, but not less then a week before the Hawks convention. Certainly not in the same week they have the press conference for Hossa. Talk about a 3 ring circus. McDonugh has his hands in the pie, but the timing of this if true is not his M.O I don't see him taking the pr hit so close to the convention. Wasn't it not right when Savard was removed so early in the season last year as well? It was quite a story if I remember especially considering he's such an ambassador in the city. Josh Mora is also reporting this.
