Edmonds was on his way to the Sox
QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 12, 2008 -> 10:30 PM) This is the first year that we haven't gone trolling for old, injury-prone hitters that are coming off of a down year. Quentin's young. Or we might have, but the trade got nitched somehow.

Edmonds was on his way to the Sox
QUOTE(bmags @ Feb 12, 2008 -> 04:46 PM) i can't believe this. Believe it. Hell, we were a solid physical short of getting Otsuka for Chris Carter earlier this offseason but he miserably failed it. (he was released days later, luckally we turn the deal into Quentin) The best trades are the ones not made for some instances.

Livan Hernandez-To The Twins
Well, it looks like some of our guys (mainly young players) will get some stats up alittle bit now (doesn't hurt that Johan is gone as well.) QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 12, 2008 -> 04:45 PM) The Twins should have just gone with one of their young starters such as Glen Perkins, and use the $5M more wisely (e.g on relievers, a hitter for their lineup). Definitely. Hell, even a signing bonus for a high/overslot draft pick would have helped for the future (even if that really isn't their M.O.)

Who is your favorite player currently on the Sox's MLB level team?
Any player that is born in the 80's, since you know, it's the best decade. So yes, Fields, Danks, Quentin, Booner, Swisher-house, Jenks etc... even Owens. (The young, the proud, the future) Only players I like that are older... Buehrle, (who is pretty damn close to the 80's anyway) Vazquez, Thome.

2007-08 NBA Thread
God I hope the Bulls do the Utah deal instead of the Knicks deal, even though AK's contract is horrid (unless we get some 1st round talent since Thomas is horrendously stupid) I LOVE AK-47.

Blue Jeans
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 08:01 PM) Also, I don't really understand why any guys would wear skinny jeans. Looks weird to me, along with very uncomfortable. It's horrendously stupid. Your basically seeing the dude's junk and backside from the waist down. I have an "aquatience" who wears real tight jeans, and your course he stands out from it. (maybe a fashion sense I guess) I don't want to say what's up and you turn around and people can see your shlong. (in his case, small) It's f***ing discusting. Same with dudes who bag their jeans (I'm talkin about serious jail-type baggin) I used to do it back in H.S., but it wasn't to my freakin knee caps basically. Just to show-off/fashion sense/make a point I guess.

Look, if you guys want to talk about religion and such, just request an admin to move some of this talk to Slam then yak it up. I will say it again, this is a non-story just like Pedro and the cock fighting from the DR IMO.

Blue Jeans
Since Wranglers is the only one on that list I get, then Wranglers hands down. Others: Levi, Inner City Energy, City Streets (mostly for dress pants). 2 cents, other than maybe dress pants/clothes, anyone who spends over 75 bucks for a pair of pants should be shot. BTW, I'll plan my burning of the Navy store very soon. EDIT: just saw Levi on the list Man I shouldn't just quick scan the list. Levi... probably my fav, but voted for Wranglers (usually my work jeans)

2007-08 NBA Thread
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 12:12 AM) Well, one positive of the Bulls losing the big 3 is for the first time not including Pistons games, I think they are playing hard. Two straight very good efforts in terms of trying, and a very nice win tonight at Golden State, who was 29-19 and 29-13 with Stephen Jackson. Not sure where the hell that performance came from for Duhon (luck, but hey he lit it up from the field), but Tyrus, Joe Smith, and to a lesser extent Noah and Thabo played well. Amen to that. Duhon should get a tape of this game, and put it in his house. We will probably never see that out of him again. Joe Smith had a hellova game. Props to Jim Boylan for letting the young guys play. (minus Gray) Oh, and Tyrus.....

Yahoo report; Coming of age
They have both players who are 27 years old (Owens turns 27 this season) and not Fields/Quentin who are/will be 25? Mmmmm k.

He was "having doubts" about this two years ago. TWO YEARS AGO PEOPLE!!! Non-story. Like elrockinMT said, probably out of context.

2007-08 NBA Thread
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 04:14 PM) Yea. Supposedly, for the 10 minutes or so he played, TT looked good also. But as usual, TT, Noah, and Gray, 3 of the 4 guys we should be playing more, split about 30 minutes between them. Thank you. Everyone talks about Skiles, but Boylan is horrid especially with young players. He's basically screwed up their development. If it wasn't for injuries and Sefo stepping up, he would also be in the same predicament.

Fields thought about walking away
QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 01:48 PM) Maybe this is taken out of context. Bingo. This is not even considering his good friend Quentin is on the team now. He'll be fine.

AL Central Offseason Analysis
QUOTE(bighurt4life @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 12:00 AM) Obviously KW did a good job in getting players that will help us this coming season. He upgraded our bullpen, our infield and our outfield. Thats a pretty good offseason, what the article doesn't mention however is that KW stripped our minors to the bone to make these deals happen. How good will we be in 3 years when team is getting older and we have no legitimate in-house options for replacement? You could say the same thing about the Tigers and their old guys. Other than Porcello (whose a pitcher) they don't have much down there especially position spects who are the future. In three years, who knows if Miggy will still be with that organization. They too (along with Cleveland) will have to draft good. (hopefully with our change in personel, we will draft better since the other two teams do draft pretty well usually) Not assuming of course, good trades in the future who could net us (or them) part of our (or their) future.
