  1. Remember we started off 3-9 last year and still made the playoffs. I'm definitely not off the bulls bandwagon but they better step it up and soon. There TOs and defense has been bad so far. Not to mention inconsistant shooting and not stepping up to the FT line.
  2. This is probably the first time in a while I've agreed on basically every award that was given.
  3. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 03:37 PM) ok, ive softened on this. Excellent. Glad some people here who don't mind the trade are convincing you considering I like the trade myself. Now if we can get the other 80% of people here to stop overreating were gonna be in good shape. In all honesty, I'm surprised the Angels boards hate the deal even though they are filling up a strength. Garland will be a very good 4th-5th starter for them and this almost means E. Santana is basically gone. They can get a real sexy package up to land Miguel Cabrera.
  4. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 03:32 PM) Hate to say it, but I think the starting rotation is probably set unless either we gamble on a Garcia/Colon/Clement coming off an injury.. I don't think you do this deal as is unless you think Floyd and Danks are taking those last 2 spots and you're still counting on Jose. Because the next option on the list seems to be Broadway and Gio, and I find it hard to believe we're penciling either of those 2 into the rotation yet. Good post. I'm surprised most didn't see this comming. 90% of us (and damn near most GM's) knew Garland or Contreras was going to be dealt. So that would have left a hole in the rotation anyways. I doubt any of us were expecting another pitcher back in return as far as MLB ready (or even stud spect perhaps a B- but moslty a C+/C- type) It's a damn shame most posters here are down on Danks considering he wasn't even suppose to be up with us last season and showed most here during the first half the man has a s***load of talent. I'm confident he can put up Garland's numbers easily (it might not be this comming season, who knows, but he will be a better pitcher down the road IMHO) Gavin Floyd is the real wildcard here and I won't be surprised to see a veteran signing/trade that can compete with the youngsters or even be in the rotation spot. Jon Garland was nothing more than an average pitcher. It's a damn shame for him he couldn't go to the NL (or the Dodgers in Cali) which possibly would have made him even better.
  5. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 03:10 PM) As alluded to, the soul patch will be missed. Eh... I won't be too disappointed considering we got Danks now and he rocks his out pretty nicely.
  6. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 03:12 PM) And the signing of Uribe told you that he would be our starting SS, that should show you how accurate your feelings are. ^^^^^^^^^^^ Jesus, it's only November. And if some people read alittle more on this thread Kenny has already stated he's looking to trade Uribe which would make this trade look even better. I've already stated that I don't mind this trade one bit. I love O.Cabrera. It just sucks that we couldnt get back at least a spect (or two) But taking 12 mil off the books and getting upgraded at SS is solid. Kenny definitely has something else up his sleeve. This is soxtalk so I do expect overreaction and stubborness.
  7. Saw it on ESPN Bottom line. I love Cabrera and don't mind this deal at all. I just wish they would have at least thrown in a spect (perhaps C+ type) or two. Now sure how much $$$ were getting back either from the Angels. BTW, Tru is gonna be pissed.
  8. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 18, 2007 -> 11:32 PM) What was wrong with Hinrich's game tonight Ace? Other than him not being a true point guard, his bone headed mistakes and consistant turnovers are very horrid to watch (not the TOs he's making is like if he was a rookie in this league not someone whose been in the NBA for 4+ seasons) I'm not gonna even mention him basically missing most of the shots he throws up there. He has some positives going for him but it looks like he's regressing instead of progressing in specific areas and it shows. I seriously hope he picks it up and quickly cause even if he becomes solid, I want to see him part of a package to get Kobe and this is comming from me who hates Duhon worse but at least he is a truer PG and can be serviceable. (and when you have Kobe, you do need to do much scoring just get your assist in/play good defense) The money also plays a part unfortunitely for Kirk but it is a buisness.
  9. The Bulls got seriously owned tonight. And oh yea... Kirk Hinrich is horrible.
  10. Ben Wallace actually showed up. What a freakin game he put on. And kudos to Skiles for basically leaving the starting line-up the whole game. Now when Kobe scores 50 on us later on tonight (but hopefully we win) we will probably hear more rumors..
  11. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Nov 15, 2007 -> 04:07 PM) OHHHHHH NO ^^^^^^^^ This is HORRIBLE news. I see the Bonds Haters are up and at it again here..
  12. QUOTE(qwerty @ Nov 15, 2007 -> 09:30 PM) Anything open? I am not experienced but i will give it a try... Wouldn't be the first time.... O! Giggady Giggady!!!
  13. QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Nov 15, 2007 -> 12:41 AM) is that supposed to be in green? for every 1 assist there are probably 2 maybe 3 balls he takes an awful angle to an ends up a double. Soriano is a dynamic offensive player when he is on... but lets not mistake assists for good defense. ^^^^^^^^^^^^ He speaks the truth. He would be an outstanding DH. (can't field anywhere) With his offensive numbers, stolen bases, etc.. he could set records (DH wise) for such a little guy.
  14. QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 14, 2007 -> 09:29 AM) I don't mean this in a negative way towards you, but really, what difference does it make? Thank you Yas. Seriously.
  15. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 09:59 PM) See, the problem is...against a lefty, they can just sit Jones and put in Rayburn or Thames, and Thames at least has a .826 OPS against MB. Oh I know they can bench him (hell the Twins did it when he was there) I was just making light of the situation.
  16. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 09:43 PM) Since 2005, Jones has, in 61 at bats, put up 5 home runs and a 1.005 OPS against the White Sox. In that time, Jones has hit 5 home runs against 2 other team; the St. Louis Cardinals and the Reds. In 120 and 109 at bats, respectively. He has not hit more than 4 against any other team in that stretch. He has a higher OPS against us than against anyone else he's seen more than 25 times. At least Buehrle PWNS the s*** out of him.
  17. QUOTE(knightni @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 01:08 PM) I love my new avatar. Gotta love snoo-snoo.

  19. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Nov 9, 2007 -> 09:13 PM) *raises hand* How the hell did I forget chu Willie? Your a big fan. My apologies.
  20. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Nov 9, 2007 -> 10:13 AM) I am one of the few. Bmags, mhizzle, and hammerhead johnson are some others. I'm definitely one even though I'm a bigger fan of true hip-hop. There's others. CWSGuy406, SoxFan1, etc..
  21. I have never seen a sadder effort of a team than what the Wizards are doing tonight. They are getting their asses kicked but just basically letting Camby get offensive boards. They are playing to lose basically and everyone can now see that.
  22. I would have done it as well. A part of me also is glad it didn't go through because it gives us leverage to use Sweeney to sweeten the pot on another particular trade that could help us down the road.
  23. The only joke here is this thread (no offense at all Steve ) and I'm half-way saying this cause I'm one of the biggest (if not, THE biggest) Tyrus Thomas fan on this board. DBAH0, SoxFan1, or others can definitely tell you that.
