QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 12:41 PM) Crisp is batting .318 in his last 5 games and .289 for the season, but he hasn't show much productivity HR RBI wise since returning from the DL in May. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=6983 Holy s*** has he gotten hot. Last time I saw him he was hitting .252 and that was before he went 4-5 against Atlanta. (the game I also saw)

I'll say this, if we get the #1 pick next year (which is a good possibility) and Oden declares.... I can gladly say we'll have a couple of Bulls championships back here in Chicago. -

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 09:41 PM) I love how he went the other way with one of his hits. Thats something that was missing during his mini-funk. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 09:41 PM) Which means he's getting ready to bust a hot string, IMO. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 12:07 AM) LOL, that sounds so....wrong! QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 12:40 AM) They have Boston taking Marcus Williams at #7. Suppose their logic is the Celts need a pure PG, so Delonte West can become the 6th man off the bench. I'll dispute that, and I know I'll get flamed for it around here. The Bulls in my mind won't be serious contenders in the East for another season or 2 at least. You'll need guys like Deng to actually hit their prime first. Don't forget that Chicago is still a very young team in terms of guys you have in your starting lineup etc. I'll go easy on you.. But all seriousness what you said is true but you have to remember the East is extremely weak. You can basically compare it to the NL in baseball. It's up to the West to see how much it improves. The Bulls gave serious fits to the now World Champs. Imagine if they have a go to type big man whether it's from a trade (KG, O'Neal, Marion) or the draft. And going back to Deng, this will be his third year so his potential will continue to blossom at only the tender age of 21. -
Dan, Alex, I know not too many people say this much, but I really do appreciate these threads saying how our spects do in each game. It's a very underrated job you guys do to let posters here who love prospects (like myself) keep informed of it.. Nice work. :

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 12:18 AM) We don't have the time to wait on Thomas like a team lile Portland can. We need someone to step in and contribute now, not in 3 years. We are a contender looking to add pieces to the puzzle, not a garbage team look to build around someone who could be good in 3 years. That's why I said he wouldn't be the player that would fit the bulls need NOW because of this. He will be a stud though. Bank that. Must I pull a Mr. Oizo on your ass?! -
You know you suck if KC (who is the worst AL team) is beating the best NL teams (swept the Brew Crew and are probably gonna sweep/take 2-3 from the Reds)

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 12:02 AM) I agree on the Garnett part but I just hate Thomas. He is smaller than Rudy Gay. Come on. I'll say it like this. He is 6'8 only 19 years old. Luol Deng when he was drafted was 6'7. Deng grew 2 inches over last summer to get to 6'9 (alot of people forget about that) As a teenager yourself, do you honestly feel that he can't grow another inch or two and put on weight? (I don't know his desire though so I can be wrong about him mentally) When I played baseball my senior year, I weighed 120 pounds and grew 3 inches. I now weigh 155 but have only grown an inch. I'm not saying Tyrus will be able to do it and I'm not defending him at all cause I don't feel he is the best player for this team since we are in a win now type stage and aren't waiting two-four years till he finally is a beast. I'm just saying don't start a riot if he picks Thomas cause for all we know he could trade him, or for all you know we could trade Chandler who I still feel after 5 years and no college experience still can't sniff a jumper and Tyrus has 1 year and can hit a 15-18 footer regularly. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 12:02 AM) I agree on the Garnett part but I just hate Thomas. He is smaller than Rudy Gay. Come on. You have allowed ESPN to brainwash you. Saw a small portion but as soon as they said that Lowry was going to be better than Gay (except Anthony who is the only one I found credible) I just couldn't bear it. I honestly don't feel he'll be the best PG. (Williams will be) I just wish we weren't crowded at the SF spot cause Gay, but Deng IMO, will be better than Gay in 3 years. I'm just saying in THIS DRAFT, Gay will be better than anyone else. -
QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 11:57 PM) Could a Sox pitcher start the game for the 3rd time in 4 years?? I don't see why not. What's the record? That is still pretty amazing when you think about it.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 11:55 PM) You're happy about that? Oh yea. Several reasons but I won't get into it. I just laugh everytime you say he has no offensive game whatsoever and he can hit 15-18 foot jumper regularly where Chandler couldn't even sniff a jumper at all. He is what you call "raw" Chandler is "extremely raw" like of like Sene. I honeslty feel Pax will do whatever is best for the team if it's drafting Thomas, someone else, (I personally like Roy, Aldridge even though Rudy Gay will be the best player in this draft when it's all said and done) or trade (I still feel personally we will make a trade with someone) I will be at work unfortunitally so I won't see the draft so hopefully I'll come home tomorrow hearing that we got Garnett.. -

The Clock Countdown to Tyrus Thomas being a Chicago Bull. -
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 11:44 PM) First, I take offense to that comment. Their problem is pitching, they lost a lot of key cogs from that staff last year including: Millwood, Elarton(not huge here), Riske, Rhodes, Howry. Their bullpen was such a huge part of their success last year and when you lose three of your better bullpen arms and your ace..you're going to have some issues. Just tell them to look at Knightni's sig and they'll know..

What was the worst trade in baseball history?

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 12:45 PM) -pedro martinez for delino deshields Boy that was bad... That Randy Johnson deal they had a few years ago was awful too. -
QUOTE(Hurons @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 11:11 PM) You were 15 up and held on. The Tigers are 11 on the Twins and they will hold on as well. You just said that you don't like looking into the past. Now your saying since we managed to hold on to that lead in the end that the Tigers (who are a different team than us) will do the same from the Twins (my dark horse) team? Elaborate.
-
QUOTE(tigerfan @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 11:05 PM) For anyone who thinks we will fade or fail to win the division this year, consider this statistic. Through 78 games we are 53-25. That means that in order to reach 100 wins this year we only need to go 47-37 the rest of the way. If you don't think we can do that, or do better then that then you're kidding yourself. Boy I heard that alot. The sox had a better/about the same record as you guys do this season and the only thing we had to do is play .500 average ball the rest of the way to get to 98-100 wins. We did exactly that, but the Indians played outstanding ball the rest of the way. Could it happen this year? Keep your eye on the Twins who will probably be the dark horse when it's all said and done. Just take this into account. Three of our starters (Garcia-Garland-Vasquez) are underacheving before the break. If this guys figure it out after the break, I don't know how you guys can beat us at our best when they are on. Buehrle will be the same pitcher as his track record shows, and Contreras will pitch alittle better or alittle worse but will be about the same as he is right now. Your starters on the other hand are mysteries. Rogers is the only sure thing and we know he pitches worse after the break. Bonderman is probably going to be even better after the break but who knows how the Verlanders and the Maroths (how will he be after in injury) etc.. be afterwards.
-
QUOTE(Hurons @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 10:58 PM) If you think the Sox are going to manhadle the the Tigers based on the early season results, you may be mistaken. You may be mistaken yourself, that's why baseball is such a great game. IMO, we probably will beat us more than you will beat us, but at the same time, that doesn't mean we would win the division if you guys keep doing your part (beating up on the bad teams, which we haven't done too good this season) and if your pitching, bullpen, hitting, etc.. all hold up in a cohesent unit like it has pre-break, and if it can carry on post-break.

QUOTE(beautox @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 01:14 AM) I'm pretty sure Mackowiak can play first, i would think McCarthy would be the odd man out and would go back down to AAA to get starts. Then that begs the next question. Who is going to be the long relief man? IMO, they would option Gload first before they do McCarthy. QUOTE(Thunderin @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 01:15 AM) Iguchi is DA MAN!!!
