  1. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 14, 2006 -> 07:10 PM) Or Joakim Noah or Big Baby Or Kevin Durant, or Thaddeus Young, Josh McRoberts, etc.. etc.. My God you guys have to watch Durant play. He is a S-T-U-D. Never seen anyone's potential to be that good. He's a Tracy Mcgrady, Grant Hill (potentially Kevin Garnett) clone. He can really fly. But I would LOVE Oden. Oden will have the same impact in the NBA LeBron had. Book that.
  2. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 14, 2006 -> 10:25 PM) Maybe you should just stick to your "insight" on college basketball... (Kalapse @ May 14, 2006 -> 10:33 PM) PWNED!!!!!!!
  3. QUOTE(greg775 @ May 14, 2006 -> 10:12 PM) Great win obviously considering the 7 spot. History for Mark B. Nice. Thome equals amazing. Very historic, I'm glad I got to witness it. The Triple Play?!?!...
  4. Mark Buehrle might not even sniff the hall of fame, and were dissing a man who IS the greatest sox player in history just because he's not Ken Griffey Jr./Aaron Rowand-like in attitude? Ridiculous. I've said it a million times when Frank comes back here, if he plays, I will be one of the ones standing up and cheering when he comes up to the plate. He is an ambassidor to the game. I still will never forget when he and Griffey being the biggest backers in the steriod issue and Frank clearly saying at the time to be one of the first testers (as a matter of fact, the sox organization were the first testers in the steriod issue) He loves the sox. he did everything he can to help his team win, was outstanding with the fans (still have his autographed baseball and baseball card from years ago) and was not an asshole. (except to KW not JR who he respects and admires alot) I can go on and on, and something tells me when it's all said and done I'm going to have to.

QUOTE(Harry&JimmyRocked @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:53 PM) rape and pillage? i don't call trading a guy that will never help your team win a world series, for bullpen help raping and pillaging? obviously your life sucks bad enought to be the "tough talking message board guy", so these are my last thoughts on the subject. Anderson-4th outfielder Garland- one year wonder Crede-playing for contract what about danny wright? where's mckay christensen? what about super joe borchard? scott ruffcorn? rodney bolton? jon rauch? the great one year wonder mike caruso luis andujar arnie munoz? and the names go on and on spout all the names for me you'd like gutless wonder. the best you got is mr. one year jon garland???? looks like you'll have to take his sausage outta your mouth to respond. looks like the sox disagree with you as charlies ass we sent packing back down to the minors. now please give us a rant on kenny williams and why this was wrong. I honestly do not know where to begin with this quote.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:42 PM) From what I saw of him briefly on Baseball Tonight, his stuff looked fairly good. The Knuckle was breaking, and he throws it pretty hard as well at about 70MPH, a lot faster than say Tim Wakefield like you said. Yea same thing. And the pitches I saw him miss on were very close, not way high, or way low. I think that's another difference between AAA and the bigs. Most of their hitters would swing at those pitches. Just minor stuff like that he will learn from. He is going to be a stud come two years. Just 22 years old. My goodness..
  7. I believe he misunderstood his post entirely. Eigher that or he's high.
  8. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 10, 2006 -> 02:04 AM) Even if correct, giving up a 25 year old lefty who obviously had some potential for some toolsy bum named Bynum You got to be kidding me. And don't even bring age into that conversation cause Bynum was born the same year as Koronka (1980) Your a smart poster wsf101 (one of the better ones here) but your way off base on this one.
  9. My favorite line this season was Coop's quote which is in my sig.
  10. ^^^^^^ Ya I know, just wanted to throw that out there.
  11. Everybody seems to forget that Billy Wagner was a natural right-handed pitcher for a long time, broke his arm twice, taught himself to throw left-handed I believe (I think I do remember his story) by throwing nothing but fastballs against a barn wall, and now here he is as one of the most dominent closers in the game.
  12. To make it all worse for them, they will be part of history (I'm bookin that) and not the good history of giving Bonds his record from Ruth.
  13. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 9, 2006 -> 11:54 PM) I posted this nugget not too long ago: You know you could still be right though..
  14. QUOTE(3RDBASE @ May 9, 2006 -> 01:02 AM) I think before its said and done Joe will be remembered as one of the best 3B's in White Sox history!!!! World Series Rings. Crede-1 Ventura-0 To me, he will always be remembered for that.

    Righty? Lefty?

Write Left, Bat Left, Shoot Pool Left, Catch Left, Eat foods Left Drink Liquids Left need I go on? I'm probably one of the TRUE lefties here. I think the only thing I do right is shoot a basketball and think with the right side of my brain. To the lefties!!!
  16. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 8, 2006 -> 03:50 PM) In case you didn't know... I GRIFFEY Ditto. Besides Thomas, he was my favorite player to watch play. Hell, my batting stance as a kid (and I thank god I batted lefty) was an imitation of Griffeys. He was one of the true 5 tool studs. Hall of Famer no doubt.
  17. Yanks, Sawks series by far. I simply throw-up when they talk about them. WE ARE THE BEST TEAM IN BASEBALL. Why not us and the Injuns/Tiggers? I'm not a fan of Bonds, but the man is making history no matter if he took steriods or not. Hitting that many homeruns, and doing it this year with a f***ed up knee that will probably end his career is simply amazing. When he passes Ruth, I will be happy for him, but IF he passes Aaron, I will be pissed.
  18. Wow.. just wow... I'm glad I know this and I gotta say... wcw2323 heads up kid. You get alot of respect in my book. I'm also shocked of the bashing and head-hunting alot of posters had. Damn... I was laughing at this whole thread cause it was like we made a trade or something.
  19. My two favorite: Itailian Fiesta and Waldo Cooney's. (Slav, you know what I'm talkin bout. ) Capri's Pizza is up there too and so is Bob n Jacks. As far as on this list.. Pizzaria Uno I would have to say.
  20. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 5, 2006 -> 08:04 AM) Bulls should package their lottery pick from the Knicks and maybe Deng for Garnett. I'd rather trade Gordon. (hell he has more value and Deng has been semi-injury prone so far during his short career) Deng is gonna be a friggin stud come 2-3 years and is only 20 years old right now. But I'll tell you what. If they want Deng instead of Gordon and take Garnett... I would do it even though I would hate it.
  21. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 6, 2006 -> 12:16 AM) Its the f***ing royals, the worst team in baseball. We shouldnt be leading the season series 4-3 on a 20 loss team in the first week of may. Hey.. what can you say... Baseball is a crazy game. And I still remember a poster here who predicted that we would be 23-8 after we were done with the Royals, which I precisely shook my head. Like Ozzie said, every team is difficult. There are no easy teams in the MLB. Period. Some teams might just be alittle less talented than others.. It's crazy though every good team will have a team that they will struggle against (or be the b****.) It's common. That being said let's get a win Javier.
  22. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 5, 2006 -> 01:01 AM) Rowand got about as good of reads as anyone, Brian doesn't play as deep and is faster, no doubt. He might be a better defender but he certainly isn't ten times better. Agreed. The only true diffrence I see between the two is the arm. Anderson is more accurate and stronger. But I'll say this, Rowand and Crede should had won gold gloves last year. If Rowand would had won one, this discussion is mute. That's the only thing you would have to say. Gold Gloves Rowand: 1 Anderson: 0 Nuff said. But since that's not the case...
  23. Joe's play was simply outstanding but I have to give it to Gooch cause we've NEVER seen a play like his in baseball. I've seen a play like Credes' many times, might not have been like that exactly, but it was very similar plus in Gooch's play it was under better circumstances (bottom of the 9th tying run aboard, that ball was IN play, not a foul ball like Credes and the game was basically ova cause Count was lights out.) My vote clearly goes to Iguchis. Nice thread by the way. And I don't honestly say that to posters. We have to revist this when the sox win this again and show how we done it.

    20-8

That is wrong you know. I even have the Chicago Sun times paper today where it shows our record comparing our 2005 record and it says the same thing wite showed. We are 1 game off our pace from last season how the hell could we be 23-5 we weren't THAT dominent. EDIT: I'll even put it to you this way. His source=baseball reference. Your source=espn. Nuff said.
  25. Welcome to soxtalk. And I gotta say you have one of the best names to the site..
