That Sharp trade looks really bad now. Hopefully Goose is up permanently now. Scuderi is slow as molasses.

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 08:24 AM) I can't help but feel the same way. I don't think I have a good reason, but Frazier just seems like a guy who is really useful because he's good at a ton of things, but he's just BARELY good at them individually, so he just feels like a tiny slip in a skill or two would be make a huge difference. Agreed 100%. If this team was just a piece away, I would say go for it. Sox still have a few holes to fill to be able to compete. I'd rather have Lawrie just stay at 3B and Sanchez at 2B. Keep improving the defense and focus more on an OF/SS (hopefully get someone with a respectable OBP).

That was great anticipation by Fuller. Great INT.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 06:20 PM) So let me ask you guys what do we think the move to cf does to his individual worth in the advanced stats world? So much of his value is tied up into being the best rf on the planet that I'm interested what happens to that if he's just an above average cf? I honestly believe Theo/Jed are bluffing. Heyward is such a question mark in CF. There is no way they go into the season with Schwarber and Soler as the corner OFs. That D would be bad. I still think Heyward is their RF on opening day and Soler (or Baez) is dealt for a CF.

Fun fact. I actually found this site before WSI (never registered there either). Might be one of the very few who did. Was a lurker around February '03 and decided to register nearly a year later after seeing Jeremy Reed and the Barons (got an autograph too). Been a Soxtalk and FutureSox regular ever since I joined.

Even with a limited sample size, Brian Anderson never had the success in PA that Thompson did.

QUOTE (beautox @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 11:06 PM) Here are my thoughts 1.) Let the kids play - I want to see Trayce in CF and Sanchez at 2B both getting the lion's share of the ABs. The sox might have something in both of them but will need to play them everyday to find out. 100% agree. Sox desperate need the defense especially (as well as OBP and power). I actually like Lawrie at 3B much more than 2B. Get a defensive SS (with a good OBP.. shouldn't be too hard Hahn.. ) and a corner OF bat with good OBP and power. (Average to above D) and I like the way we're looking.

White Sox deal Jaye for LHP Will Lamb from Texas

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 10:47 AM) If you are talking Tyler Lumsden...I was never very happy with that pick. I consistently ripped the Sox for how they handled that year they had the multiple picks. Of course in comparison to the Wes whisler pick, the Lumsden pick looked great. Ah my mistake. Might of been Cerb then. In either case, I agree it was just that era of the low ceiling, low floor. Thank god for that 05 year. -
White Sox deal Jaye for LHP Will Lamb from Texas

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 10:36 AM) Would seem to miss a lot of bats, but he also misses the zone quite a bit. 4.94BB/9 in his minor league career vs. a 8.26 K/9. Career WHIP is pretty inflated at 1.41. Even his best season, which was in 2014, he had major control issues. Presume this is one of those, Sox like his arm and stuff and think he could profile as a good lefty reliever with some work from Coop. Hopefully he's not like the other tall, solid build lefty who missed bats but had control issues coming out of Clemson (whom we drafted) that you really liked. Good ol' past days of FutureSox. -
Dat Fire... Dat passion.. In all seriousness, he's got a lot of power in his swing.

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 09:12 AM) My friend whose a blue jays fans loved lawrie's personality. Though I think toronto fans in general like really aggressive arrogant players as some sort of compensation measure. Canadians loving other Canadians, what's wrong with that?

Rousey - Holm rematch July 9th "tentatively" agreed upon per Dana White.

I like Wendelken, but I like this deal even more.

Him and Melky were pretty tight when they were in Toronto IIRC.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 10:08 AM) Couple videos of Matsuda Couple things I noticed on other YouTube videos of his (as far as negatives). He struggled versus RH in the WBC. And he chases the breaking pitches down. With that said, obviously a small sample size.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 10:04 AM) Jon Heyman @JonHeymanCBS 5m5 minutes ago White sox, padres among teams in on japanese free agent infielder Matsuda Now Heyman is a much better source.

I just can't take that tweet seriously since it's Phil Rogers.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 04:52 PM) Hossa scores. Bickell with 5 hits in the 1st period. Annihilated big Buff too. That was awesome. I don't think I've ever seen Big Buff get drilled like that in his career. That was similar to the one Buff put on Pronger a few years ago in the Finals.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 09:23 AM) that is point. Anyone thinking some of the asks on here are crazy, I think that is wrong. It is exactly what it would take. You can't take maybes for Chris Sale. Once he is gone, he is gone, and to get someone near him back, it costs $200 million. Agreed. If I'm trading Sale, I want ML ready talent or young guys with experience already. (Think Betts, Bryant etc) We don't know how guys like the Dodgers Seager for example will pan out, especially in our system. We were fortunate with Eaton at the time when we got him.
-
"Justin" Turner eh? I guess Coop can fix him too.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 09:54 AM) And Miller is the pass catching TE who has pretty much taken away Bennetts targets And Martellus Bennett is essentially both. Not many TEs in the game who can block and catch. With that said, it seems the game favors more of the pass catching TE. Just don't know if the Bears should trust a guy whose been injury prone his whole career (Miller) prior to this season even with the money saved. We'll see what Pace does this offseason though, but Bennett is probably gone.

Not bad at all. Tyler Flowers being gone made my night yesterday though so I might be running on fumes.

Carolina Panthers only undefeated team left now. Who would've predicted that?
-
QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Nov 29, 2015 -> 10:42 PM) These refs doing their best effort to hand the W to the Broncos. Agreed, and I hate the Patriots. Oh.. and that Gronk injury did not look good.

I like Blash's tools alot back in the day. He was a former sox pick in high school, so I'm positive we'll be interested (especially with the lack of power already on our team).
