QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 28, 2016 -> 10:03 AM) As dead as this team looked after the winning streak ended, I am OK with that. Toews has played alot of hockey as well and hasn't had the best year. This is probably a blessing in disguise.

That crosscheck by Wideman was absolutely disgusting. He deserves to have the book thrown at him. EDIT: Saw before that play he got hit in the head.. might of gotten woozy and crosschecked the linesman last minute. Still hard to give him the benefit of the doubt at all though.

QUOTE (bjm676 @ Jan 27, 2016 -> 10:43 AM) I find it interesting, because I'm married to a Filipina, so it's nice to see the Philippines represented. So is the owner of this site. It's... what the cool kids do now.

Toews not on the bench. He's had the flu for several days now according to Edzo. Add him to the long list there. (Difference is he's playing through it)

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 26, 2016 -> 03:49 PM) The 13 year old boy inside of me hopes LJ Hoes is claimed by the White Sox just so I can giggle at headlines like "Sox claim Hoes" "Sox invite Hoes to spring training" "Sox need Hoes to step up game" QFT.

QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Jan 26, 2016 -> 02:53 PM) In 2023, I'm guessing at least two of Hossa, Keith, and Seabrook will be on LTIR. The recapture on those guys is awful. Keith? Dude is a fitness freak of nature and has arguably the best contract in the NHL. I can see him playing at an elite level well into his contract. Not saying he'll be winning a Norris when he's 40 like Lidström, but he'll still be very good.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 26, 2016 -> 01:04 PM) Intentional walks and HBP help Abreu tremendously. Yep. Actually looking closer at Hernandez there, he's intriguing me more from a hitting standpoint. Abreu's age 22-25 seasons, he had 105 IBB and 90 HBP. (Good god at those numbers btw) His highest walk total in Cuba those years was 75. Hernandez's age 23-26 seasons, he had 34 IBB and 19 HBP. His highest walk total in those years was 80. Guy is just a much more patient hitter in Cuba, just wasn't as dangerous. (which we wouldn't need him to be here) No idea about his defense obviously and he wasn't much of a base stealer in Cuba and not sure about his speed either. But I hope the sox are doing their homework on this guy. (And even Jose Miguel Fernandez for that matter with his miniscule K rate)

Who/what are our trade assets?
QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Jan 26, 2016 -> 11:49 AM) I suggested earlier Jordan Guerrero. Young lefty who had a breakout year in A ball. Yep, Although I say it with some bias as I've been a Guerrero fan before it became cool. He also seems like a De Los Santos sell high type as well. Danish is solid as well. Engel too.

Mark Lazerus @MarkLazerus Kris Versteeg casually mentions the #Blackhawks have "five" future Hall of Famers. He adds Seabrook to Hossa, Keith, Toews and Kane. Nice praise for Seabrook from Steeger.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 25, 2016 -> 08:43 PM) There's zero doubt in my mind it was a full on joke at an old friend. Pretty obvious really. Steeger and Toews are great friends.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 25, 2016 -> 08:21 PM) So Rose injures hamstring and will not return tonight (I was a little confused by what Stacy King said but I think that is what he meant). Hamstrings can linger for a long time if it remotely serious. No he said lower back. He's out with a lower back and hamstring injury.

QUOTE (Tony @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 11:39 AM) Panik overslept and missed practice, so is scratched tonight. Not a great way to make some good first week impressions. That's a shame. Dude was one of our more productive players in the bottom 6 with minimal ice time and system adjustment. That's how guys get in Q's doghouse quick.

QUOTE (Tony @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 09:34 AM) Stan is really washing his hands of that entire Sharp trade... He has no choice. I like it though. This is the first trade in a while Stan gets the younger player back.

Infield Defense
Still feel the team is better with Sanchez at 2B and should of gotten an upgrade (even slight) at SS, but we'll see how Lawrie does with the glove. He should at least be better with the bat.

2015-16 NHL thread
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 02:20 PM) It would be a lot easier if they didn't give a certain D-man a very long extension this past offseason. I still think that one is gonna bite the most. They got Bickell and Scuderi coming off the books after next season. That's 6 million right there. That's not counting Danault and Hartman who will both probably replace Kruger and Shaw.. they'll be fine.
