Official 2011-2012 NFL Thread
SoxAce replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Kreutz is not the same player as years past (in fact.. he was really bad last season). I hope the Bears go in another direction. At the same time, they are letting their options for the OL slip away. -
My buddy texted me (since I'm not watching the game) that Rios play made Lillibridge's play from earlier on in the season look better.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 08:33 PM) The Rockies stated all along they wanted four close to mlb ready players. The risk of injury is absolutely minimal. He could injure himself simply if the negotiations were to take place tomorrow instead of today. The Rockies were prepared to hold on to him if they didn't get exactly what they wanted, and so they pitched him, as they normally would, until they got exactly that. It is one thing when they state their demands and the sides are negotiating/far apart. Its another when the two sides have pretty much agreed to 95% of it and they wanted prospect A instead of prospect B as the 4th player and STILL pitch the guy they no longer will be their property.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 08:30 PM) Send De Aza out there right now, embarrass the s*** out of that bum. I still remember when me and you wanted him gone this offseason after his good year when we were lynched over it. (you more-so than me since you argued more about it)

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 08:29 PM) PULL RIOS NOW!!!! HOLY s***. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 08:29 PM) LOL Rios QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 08:29 PM) Lol Rios. What happened? I refuse to watch the games so i'm just following with updates here before I go out.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 08:22 PM) it was just one inning. i'm pretty sure the indians don't care that much. Yes I'm sure they don't care a guy they want is mentally unstable. (not to mention getting shelled doesn't feel too good to the psyche, and velocity was down 3 MPH) I feel for Ubaldo, but it is a business. Just don't like how the Rockies handled that one at all regardless of price demands. Other GMs also talk around the league about handling specific business. s***, getting either White or Pomeranz was a great deal for the Rockies, yet alone getting BOTH guys (though we'll see that comes to be true of the rumors).

This thread is full of win.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 08:09 PM) Rockies wanted more. They apparently called the Indians' bluff. And the Indians should fold that hand. The Rockies better hope for their sake Ubaldo doesn't get injured. Very weird seeing my second favorite team handling a trade situation like this.
-
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 07:44 PM) If that deal was done, there's just no way the Indians would be letting him start. Imagine if he got hurt tonight and then the deal hadn't been completed. OUCH. That might be a blessing in disguise for the Indians though.
-
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 07:28 PM) Humber will be okay. Probably will end up as more of a 3.75-4.25 ERA guy, but that's exactly what Hudson would be with us. He is the one guy I wish the sox would think outside the box and sell high on. I am still not sold on him having this kind of success in the future.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 07:29 PM) I hate defending KW. But I don't think he believes that anymore. Knives won't suffice during a shootout. KW likes to think he has all these cards to play. He just doesn't. Notice you never hear about potential prospects by name from our system in any trade rumors? Because there's nobody to name. Well except Viciedo. Only name I've seen. (unless you want to still count Sale)

Ubaldo is going to be fun to watch in the central. One of my personal favorite young pitchers.
-
QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 07:20 PM) Kenny working the phones as we speak He would have already made trades if the sox didn't have a good series against the Tigers and won the first game against Boston. My worst fear is the sox take 2/3 against Boston but then struggle a bit and KW loses out on more deals for the future cause of this usual "tease".

Ross Wilson is DH'ing for the Barons tonight.

QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 06:25 PM) ubaldo jiminez to indians Wow.. he's gonna be really fun to watch in the central.
-
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 06:15 PM) Win or lose, playoffs or not, I think we can agree on one thing. The 2011 Chicago White Sox are one of the toughest Sox teams to figure out in a LONG time. They are also one of the most boring. And I this is comming from someone who hasn't caught alot of games this year.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 29, 2011 -> 09:42 PM) You moan about our lousy offense and want to trade CQ, one of the two guys on our team that can hit? Confusing to me. 3 hits tonight and we win. We'll obviously take it, but wow, our offense is abysmal. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 29, 2011 -> 10:08 PM) I don't really want to see 10 more shutouts the rest of the season. Dealing CQ for pitching will not be good. Not all the time greg seriously PWNs a poster. Nicely done. -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 29, 2011 -> 10:52 PM) At least they know their baseball (for the most part). I say Cubs fans are worse. And you would be wrong.

Sox/Danks have talked numbers but "nothing too serious"

QUOTE (kageman129 @ Jul 29, 2011 -> 08:02 PM) Seriously, lets do this . . . I mean, I've been hoping for a rebuild mode for the last 4 years. I'm tired of watching this losing baseball (or barely winning baseball) . . . Lets get some young blood in here. Sell off Danks, Quentin, Thornton Since when the hell is 26 years of age old? Everyone here knows my feelings on Danks. I want this guy signed here for a few years. He still has alot of untapped potential. I'm by far the highest on him than anyone on our staff. -
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 29, 2011 -> 08:07 AM) Jacob Turner, and Nick Castellanos pretty much. Drew Smyly as well.. sad he is probably their 3rd best prospect.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 29, 2011 -> 12:15 AM) The safety tandem is better with Wright at FS and Harris at SS than it was with Manning at SS and Harris at FS. Sure, they'll lose an elite return man, but that hasn't been problem area for the Bears since Glyn Milburn. With Hester and Knox, they'll be just fine. Not to mention Manning is an awful Safety. Very athletic, but has a low football I.Q. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 29, 2011 -> 06:55 AM) I thought the Bears had interest in winning; I guess I was wrong. LOL, just noticed your sig. Wow, still rocking it eh? That's over a year of prime real estate! EDIT: Let me go and say that I'm disgusted that the Bears chased down Roy Williams with the amount of talent that's on the market. Had its 1 year anniversary not too long ago! -
Carlos "Lets up that trade value" Quentin.
