  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2011 -> 08:34 AM) If this was their window, then they're totally screwed anyway. In some instances, that isn't their fault. (well.. the players anyway) This front office has shown they are willing to spend though (at least in the draft), so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. But this is an org. that has been considered cheap for several years now. In some instances, ss2k5 is right once their young studs are gonna wanna be paid down the line before the Taillons, Allies, Sanchez, etc. of the world are established MLB players (if all goes right of course). In alot of ways most of their pitching is clicking (or having career years) at the right time. That may never happen again even with the young talent they could potentially have. They have to land quality FAs/trades though to help them. (which goes back to the cheap issue.. in the past)
  2. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Aug 7, 2011 -> 10:09 PM) So I saw Hudson had a twitter, so I decided to tweet him that Sox fans wish he was still on the roster. He actually replied back: That's awesome. And I hope he continues to stick it to KW, Cooper and the rest of the sox org.
  3. QUOTE (Bruce_Blixton @ Aug 7, 2011 -> 09:00 PM) To be fair that team has lost a lot of pretty solid players so far this season like Ravelo, Collin Kuhn, Kevan Smith, Carlos Sanchez, etc. On the other hand Great Falls has been mediocre and extremely underwhelming all year. No doubt, though it's crazy to see Smith struggling this much which seemed like a seamless "jump" (if you even wanna call it that) to GF from Bristol. Still early for him though.
  4. On another note, play Tyler Flowers more Ozzie!
  5. Damn shame that Johnson and Buckner are the only two guys carrying that Bristol team.
  6. Ugh... another tease series for the sox after getting their asses handed to them by the Yankees. Thought some of you would learn by now. Now if they go on a run from here and take the next few series then that is different, but that is usually not the M.O. of this organization.
  7. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 7, 2011 -> 05:37 PM) Morel has gotten more of a pass because he's a rookie, he's good defensively, he's worked his ass off, and because he's not getting paid 8 digits a year. Simple, no? QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Aug 7, 2011 -> 05:38 PM) Yes, let's pull the plug on a rookie who is one of the better defensive 3B in baseball. Smart. Sorry boys. Logic is slowly leaving this site.
  8. Anyone who got rid of that Wells contract (without even paying a cent of that contract) is already top 10 in my book.
  9. QUOTE (zenryan @ Aug 7, 2011 -> 12:10 AM) Just saw the clip when he was talking about his brother which was awesome. It was incredible. And he's 100% right. Sterling was the much better player and would of been a shoe in if that neck injury didn't cut his career short (people also forget he was one of the best WR in the game before Favre got there and became.. well... Brett Favre). Good to see a Chicago born guy go in nonetheless.
  10. James Paxton just owned the Barons. Nice to see Buch's pitch very well in his rehab start. And Kanny had a nice field day.
  11. Nice start for the kid. His pitches have ridiculous movement going down on hitters.
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 08:57 PM) What a trade! It's only one start... But I really like this kid. He is definitely the type of pitcher that will succeed very well in the cell.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 08:55 AM) Honestly, I have no idea why he was dealt anymore. If the Sox really had to shed some payroll, then Thornton would have been dealt as well. I thought that was the plan, along with Quentin + as well. But then the sox won 2/3 against the Tigers which gave the ol "false hope" in KW's eyes (IMO) which we are used to unfortunately. Was practically my worst fear as I knew this was going to happen.
  14. And with that, this will be a game I'll watch.
  15. That'll teach him!!! Soxtalk could have fun with this one.
  16. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 04:08 AM) Yeah, I never read any anti-Mexican stuff like that here at SoxTalk, in fact, the opposite is true, we were all hyped last year when we thought we had a shot at Adrian Gonzalez...someone here called OG an illiterate redneck, which was strange. I find it funny especially since there are posters with hispanic decent who post here. JoshPR, Melissa, myself (half) just to name a couple. If there was anti stuff like that here, I'm sure any of us would have said something.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 08:34 AM) If the Patriots are willing to do it, that means it is the right move. And the Bears pick will be much more attractive for the Giants. Odds are, the Pats will have the better record.
  18. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 08:04 AM) If anything, I like Tebow and LeBron more now. Hoge is a total moron. I can't stand him and don't know how anybody can. Trent Dilfer is much worse. And I can't stand Tebow or James so I digress with Hodge's comments.
  19. Well some NBA players have to past the time. 1st time in legendary Rucker Park for Kevin Durant? Drops 66 points. Here's him going off in the 4th. Longer highlights.
