  1. Really felt Santos when they told him he made it. BTW, Dan Hudson is really a nice, professional kid handling that. Good to see he is up anyway couple months later.

    Steve9347?

    http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...576&st=6990 That is what I believe has happened. BTW go to that same thread and go back about 20+ pages or so (during the FA frenzy) and that will explain the "RIP" thing on my sig. He still post on the talkbulls. (in fact he was posting there a couple days ago)

    QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:29 PM) He did us a favor...a quick death. Fathom FTW! Santos might have inflated his era even more with the next hitter.
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:31 PM) Can somebody shoot me a PM when greg gets on? If he f***ing defends that fat f*** I'm gonna lose it. I don't want to get banned. I think you are letting that little timeout effect your brain. Let it go bro. I don't like nor want to see you constricted of your posting style cause of something as irrelevant as that was. Don't make them change you as a poster I enjoy reading.
  5. Man I missed the entire game (minus Young's GW single, error) and I see we lost a heartbreaker. One positive I can take with what I see out of the box score is Beckham went 4-4 and is hitting very well now. If he and Quentin can continue to get going, that is good news for us. And please everyone take it easy on Greg/Jenks.... and Greg take it easy on the 05 slurping of Jenks today... thanks.
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 10:38 PM) I'm going to be pissed off if Josh Johnson doesn't win the CY. Amazing how well he's pitched and the season he's had when you really analyze his numbers. Everyone was pretty much handing Ubaldo Jimenez the Cy Young all season. He could still get it, but as of right now, Johnson is my pick.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 07:09 PM) James Gammon, who played manager Lou Brown in the "Major League" movies, died today at age 70.
  8. W-S had 23 hits, was 8-17 with RISP and still loss. Bellamy had to come in early (Shirek struggled) and went 2.0 IP 2 H 1 R 1 ER 2 BB 1 SO in his Barons debut.
  9. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 04:50 PM) Man, I ain't talkin' to you until you get rid of that dumbass name. No dice. (unless Reed is released or somethin) Gotta keep the nig's name on here which was my original (luckily, I'm not one of those posters who makes like 5 different names here) name to begin with until he's out the org again. Then, I'll go back to Ace.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 03:42 PM) How is that possible? Dude..... THE CATCH!!!LOLZOMFGZLMFAOZ!
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 03:40 PM) You should read qwerty's breakdown of why he doesn't think Sergio Santos will be all that good for the long-term. I don't agree with all of it. But it was an excellent analysis. I wish the damn search function worked. I still remember his find on hitter's protection in the lineup. (and if there really is "protection") Just outstanding stuff. There is a reason I call him "Kalapse BEFORE Kalapse" back in the golden years of ST. One of my personal favorite posters here when he actually does post. Now that I'm done stroking his ego, the guy really needs to loosen up, not be so serious, and crack a smile more often. Kal at least kills posters with kindness when he makes points.
  12. Might have to start a Gordon Beckham watch soon. Don't wanna jinx the kid, but he's been swinging the stick very good the past few games.
  13. QUOTE (qwerty @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 09:52 AM) Yes, the only thing missing was a ''crazy yet informal/long read (which no one even bothers reading so i have given up even trying). What i take from that (too long of a read/what they are reading is foreign to them) is people either have extremely short attention spans, or they lack the interest it takes to learn, for it to no longer be foreign to them. Anyway, if you would like to learn some very cool things sometime soon... things i have learned from scouring the deep depths of the internet... make sure to stop by the chat during the mariners series if you can. I'm sure you would end up teaching kalapse and myself a thing or two also, which you undoubtedly would. I say this because you really do have a hang of what your saying. It's a nice change of pace. The offer is out there... it could be fun. I've read a couple of your things bro in the past and it is very good stuff when people take the time. More or less just kiddin around with ya, but I'm sure most posters just skip over it (I don't read EVERY site you put up, cept the ones I'm curious on myself) BTW, I told you guys chw42 was an underrated poster.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 02:00 PM) He's going to be an absolute star. Leading all catchers in baseball in every offensive stat since June 1st. I still can't believe they got him for Casey Blake. What a steal.
  15. **Patiently waiting for qwerty to give some crazy (yet informal/long read) site to help JoeCoolMan24's needs.**
  16. I have not watched him since his rookie season (can't remember really) but does anyone know if Rudy Fernandez is a good catch and shoot player? I like what I've read about him, as he has gotten a pretty raw deal in Portland, but can stroke it from downtown (don't know if he's good as a moving shooter or does he have to always be set, and yes I know his ball handles are weak) and is a good FT shooter to limit Brewer there. As far as trades, he might be one of the Bulls best options to try and get, even if his defense makes J.J. Redick look like Bruce Bowen. (well he isn't THAT bad, actually gets a bit of a bad rap, but he isn't very good either)
  17. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 08:09 PM) Escobar has 2 walks. What in the world? I knew that would get a rise out of you. Jeremy Reed went 1-4, R in his 2010 Knight debut.
  18. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 05:00 PM) BTW, where the hell has Steve been lately? It really makes me think that he's gone into depression after the whole LeBron thing. I'm guessing on my part, but I believe he is suspended. (I don't think he took my "RIP" sig thing THAT seriously)
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 03:54 PM) lol. what the hell? You changed your name to J.Reedfan8? What is it with you and scrubs (Garrett Jones)? http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=78462 Peep that thread and shoot me a PM if you wanna know how I became a fan of Jeremy Reed. (before he hit .400 in AA) And hey... if a guy who is a career .274/.344/.481/.825 is a scrub, then I like those kinda scrubs. BTW, this was my first name when I started posting here on soxtalk FYI.
  20. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 04:29 PM) Not a good sniper, which is what they need more. Yea. The only decent option I see (I'm only talking SG not PG here) is Roger Mason. Sadly, might be the best option the Bulls have. (as far as FA) Had a down year last season, but prior to was solid from long distance and is a career .381% 3 point shooter. (looks awfully good compared to Deng's .309% though he wasn't bad last year in limited attempts) BTW, Bulls fans don't get too pissed when Brewer is missing key FTs. He is a terrible FT shooter.
  21. QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 01:39 PM) PG: Rose/??? SG: Brewer/Korver (both are swingmen) SF: Deng/Johnson PF: Boozer/Gibson C: Noah/Asik I'd guess that is the depth chart right now. I'd really like the Bulls to pick up another shooter. Maybe they can find a PG with decent range. A backup PG with range or a sniper as a SG (which I would prefer, Johnson can swing from SF/PF) would greatly help. Korver can not be your only legit threat from downtown. (unless Luol Deng can actually.. you know.. hit threes at a respectable rate or JJ takes a huge step up from last season) I gotta say adding a 2 guard with great length (and great athleticism/defense) in Brewer is very beneficial to Rose's future. Shame he can't shoot from long distance, but in parts of an up tempo style, where Rose can thrive, Brewer will be a very good fit in the open court. Hopefully he's fine after that nasty hamstring injury he had last season.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 03:35 PM) I don't even know a Mauer... Well played Mauer.
