  1. Season starts in a week. Anyone interested?
  2. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 08:21 PM) http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...5&start=765 I looked in there but missed it

  4. Sergio Santos is one of the 12 rookies to watch via FoxSports http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/gallery/12-ro...;photo=11076368
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 24, 2010 -> 01:14 PM) Then Jake Peavy will take the mound for game 2. I bet the attendance for game 2 (as long as the weather is nice) is 30k> with Peavy starting.
  6. You should consider selling merchandise and using the proceeds for the site. I'd love a soxtalk beer mug. Or how about tshirts with our screennames on the back?
  7. I'd bat Beckham 3rd. I think he's the best pure hitter on this team.
  8. Another thing you have to look at with Teahen is that alot of players have at least one bad month. Their play is very streaky. So even if Teahen has a bad April, who's to say he can't rebound the rest of the year. I'd rather have him batting .200 in April than in September. Ultimately I think he'll come around.
  9. He can suck all spring training as long as he hits solid the past few games. That should help his confidence and hopefully build some momentum for the season.
  10. Putz in. Surrenders homerun to 1 armed Nady.
  11. 6 ABs with the bases loaded. 1 ball hit out of the infield. Real nice.
  12. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 05:33 PM) With a man a second he pitched around Mitch Maier to get to...............Josh Fields worked like a charm. The hanger was not missed by Guillen. I thought the walk came first, then the double. I guess i have it mixed up. Makes sense now.
  13. Pena looked good last night. He looked overpowering against righties with the exception of the hanging slider he served up to Guillen. He looked bad against the only lefty he faced though. 4 pitches, 4 balls.
  14. 2 Live Crew - Get the F Out My House
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 10:40 PM) Has Jenks ever come to camp ready to go? My thoughts exactly. He seems to get hit hard in spring too. I'm not worried.
  16. Makes me want to keep Pierzynski and trade Flowers or move him to 1B.
  17. Any radar gun readings for Santos or any other pitchers today? I'll be curious tomorrow how hard Linebrink and Putz are throwing.
  18. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 5, 2010 -> 03:58 AM) St. Joe in Indiana. And I am not saying I can make it on $25, because I can't (on gas alone), but that's all I have right now, and I won't have any more money coming in until then when I can start working again. Why don't you just get a credit card?
  19. If Santos doesn't make the ML roster doesn't he have to go through waivers?
  20. Is Santos the converted SS or is that someone else?
  21. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Mar 4, 2010 -> 06:38 PM) MLBTV! Can't wait! I love beisbol Is it on mlb.tv? I know it's on mlb network delayed.
  22. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 07:55 PM) "Fight" is the wrong word but back in 2008 he declined the White Sox 1 year offer while 21 or so other guys accepted, it just meant the Sox would tender him a deal a few days later. He called it posturing for future contracts, Jeff Berry was of the belief that if he declined the initial offer it would help Josh in arbitration some 3 years down the road. The thing is, the player has no real say in the matter, if the Sox want to tender him a contract he has to accept it by a certain deadline and he eventually did. It was a bigger story at the time than it should have been, in the end it truly meant nothing but it's the sort of oddity that I've only seen out of Jeff Berry, I believe he did the same thing with Buehrle. Interesting. Never heard of someone doing that.
  23. Welcome aboard! I personally don't have any problem with Ozzie's approach with DH. I agree that this approach should help with our players second half performances, which was the problem last year not talent. And if this approach doesn't work I'm sure KW will do something to fix it.
  24. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 06:59 PM) It's the rest of the 40 man roster, those who are still in their pre-arb years. According to Cowley they were all signed, that's 18 players. It's basically a formality though Josh Fields seemed to enjoy fighting it even though he had no real power. What did Fields do to fight it?
  25. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 09:00 PM) So is the game at half-time or what? No updates in the past 40 minutes..... They must be in like what, the 8th inning by now? They probably put their phones down and picked up a beer instead.
