  1. I know it probably won't happen but I'd like to see Flowers starting next year. Bat him ninth. He had a low average but I bet he could have a higher OBP and RBI than Pierzynski.

    I think we put too much pressure on him to start the season. He had a great season in 2008 and hasn't don't much outside of that. To bat him third and hope he helps carry this team was too much for him. I'd keep him and bat him 6th or 7th. We need a solid left handed bat for 3rd or 4th in the lineup.
  3. Alot of people say baseball isn't an exciting sport but Kenny Williams makes it exciting for Sox fans.
  4. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 03:14 AM) As a Weaver Ball guy, this team makes me want to put my head through the wall. Ozzie manages against every sabermetric principle in the book. He has no idea how to optimize the potential offensive output of the group of guys he wanted. Ozzie probably has math skills at a 3rd grade level so don't count on him using sabermetrics.
  5. How about DHing Quentin and putting Teahen in RF? He'd hit better than Andruw.
  6. How about Gavin Floyd for James Loney?
  7. Not that I would want him but Russell Branyan should be available. If we wait a little longer Aramis Ramirez or Derrick Lee could be available. Neither of course is LH.
  8. QUOTE (GO CHI SOX! @ Jun 12, 2010 -> 09:18 PM) X2 x2?
  9. Anyone know how to watch an fox out of market game??
  10. As much as I'd like to unload everyone it doesn't make sense since all but like 4 players are absolutely sucking. This very same team could make the playoffs next year if they just get off on the right foot. Look at the Tigers in 2008. They were 74-88, last place in the division. They had just acquired Cabrera, Renteria and Jones. They're team was stacked. Everyone handed them the division. They turned it around the next year without any majors moves. This team is the result of bad luck and incapable of getting out of the funk. It would take too much to rebuild.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 06:28 AM) True Jordan, but if we seem to be at least one big bat short. Our entire team is batting .218 and you think all we need is one big bat? I think 9 little bats would help.
  12. The interesting things about the Dye trade rumors are 1) Bailey appears to have turned things around 2) Abreu was a free agent and could have been Dye's replacement in RF. How about: Dye to Tampa Bay for Edwin Jackson (I think KW wanted more than Jackson)
  13. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 08:20 PM) I guess think of it as Jones' day off. Westbrook is going tomorrow however, I still expect to see Andruw in the lineup. I think it's because Ozzie wants to punish Jones for batting over .300.
  14. QUOTE (longshot7 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 05:38 PM) I would wear a lot of things I don't agree with if someone paid me at least 400k a year. I would even take things off
  15. Let's start this 4 game winning streak!
  16. Once this offense starts to kick in this team is going to take off. And it eventually will kick in.
  17. I hope Danks is looking forward to his no decision.
  18. QUOTE (striker @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 04:44 PM) An upper echelon catcher would not have thrown out Choo in either of his stolen base attempts in the 9th. I don't care who's catching, runners are going to steal off our pitchers unless THEY do something to hold the runners on. Nevermind, I read your later post.
  19. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 04:13 PM) My boy Floyd out there to pitch in the rubber game!!! And this might be a crazy thought, but if I were the Sox, I'd look hard into finding an upper echelon defensive catcher who could START. When you build a team around pitching, it also means you need to have a strong defense and our run-game defense is the worse in baseball (well outside of Boston). That would be a little more acceptable if we had a team that planned on scoring a s***-ton of runs, but when you built your team to win 3-2 games, you can't afford to be handing over 2nd to anyone that gets on 1st. An upper echelon catcher would not have thrown out Choo in either of his stolen base attempts in the 9th. I don't care who's catching, runners are going to steal off our pitchers unless THEY do something to hold the runners on.
