  1. 1. Peavy would have to waive his no trade clause and he wouldn't. 2. Peavy has yet to throw a pitch in the majors this year and is going to make over $16m the next two years. This would be worse than falling for a ponzie scheme.
  2. At least hit and run
  3. 1. Kenny Williams job is to field a good team. After that it's up to the team to win. I don't fault Kenny for this team not winning. Do you think Theo Epstein or Terry Francona are at risk at losing their jobs? No. 2. Baseball is a game of peaks and valleys. It's the only sport where losing 62 games is awesome. We have to cope with the losses. This team still has a ability to win. 3. All you have to do first is win the division. The Cardinals won the central in 2006(?) with like 83 wins and won the world series. We suck right now but this division is still winnable.
  4. I hope Buehrle retires. I'm sure he could get a job throwing BP for some team.

I've been a suscriber for years and love it. As long as you have an internet connection you can watch or listen. I live in MI, so for opening day I hooked my laptop up to my tv and watched the game on mlb.tv
  6. I love you man
  7. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 29, 2011 -> 03:38 AM) I understand it's business, but business also shouldn't include leaving out the little guys and only focusing on what will get you the most money. If ESPN cut down on half the Red Sox/Yankees games, and did a variety of other teams, they would not be getting ads pulled from them left and right, and even if they did, I'm pretty sure they are not hurting for money. I think you should start a 24X7 Pittsburgh Pirates station.
  8. If the Sox get more wins then losses in April then they will win the division
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 09:21 PM) Why, oh why, do people continue to draw conclusions based on Spring Training statistics? Where in my statement did I draw a conclusion? This is called planning. AJ having a bad year and Flowers having a good year is a scenario
  10. If Flowers continues to hit well in AAA and Pierzynski's bat never comes back, what would you do? Even if it does come back he tops out at about .330 OBP. It would be tough to trade AJ since he took a pay cut for us but business is business. If Flowers is tearing it up then it's hard to ignore him, and you can't keep trading everyone away. I personally was hoping AJ left and we gave Flowers a chance. If he continues to hit and AJ struggles then I say we ship off AJ. What would you do?

I'm more worried about Floyd, Buehrle and Jackson than I am Humber. Those are guys we have higher expectations for and none of them are guarantees either.

  13. Great signing for one of the best bullpen arms in baseball
  14. All In, except Spring Training.
  15. I'm anxious to see how he does.

  17. QUOTE (striker @ Jan 31, 2011 -> 08:17 PM) Where are you? I'm in Richland just outside Kalamazoo. Just had dinner with my neighbor from a few houses down. He's a south sider and Sox fan too. So there's two just on my street. Duh, I just looked at your profile.
  18. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 31, 2011 -> 07:42 PM) I try to help that number out. Where are you? I'm in Richland just outside Kalamazoo. Just had dinner with my neighbor from a few houses down. He's a south sider and Sox fan too. So there's two just on my street.
  19. I can have it look however you want. Give me a week to update rosters and I'll get back to you.
  20. We should use my site www.fan-exchange.com. I store all of the info in a database and at the end of the year I use data from www.baseball-databank.org to score each individuals accuracy. I also upload zips, Bill James, cairo, chone, etc. so we can compare. Here are 2010 http://www.fan-exchange.com/mlb/predictionsteams.asp I have group competitions so it keeps soxtalk projections together. All I have to do is update rosters and we are good to go.
  21. This would have made sense if we were sending Teahen back in the trade. Then we are only adding $7m to the books and actually saving money in the long run.
  22. Nice write up. I think Rios should be moved to #2 in the lineup or #5, but that's just my opinion. I'd rather have a higher OBP at #3.
  23. Does anyone else think the Sox will still be .500 against the Royals?
  24. Levine reporting $13m http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/news/story?id=5924567
  25. http://mlb.mlb.com/search/media.jsp?query=jesse+crain His highlights are either striking out White Sox batters or getting homers hit off him. Not encouraging.
