Griffey Poll
I figured this was the first domino of at least a pair that would fall, but it doesn't look like anything else happened which leaves me confused.

Jason Bay to the Rays Falls Through
If this is true and TB makes the playoffs then TB and LAA are both going to be fun to watch. We have faired well against both.

John Lannan or Joel Hanrahan to Sox?
QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 06:25 PM) Swish and Fields for Zimmerman and a prospect, I'd like that better I'm not a huge Zimmerman fan. I'm not saying he sucks, just not a fan.

John Lannan or Joel Hanrahan to Sox?
How about Swisher for Lannan + Prospects?

Ken Griffey Jr. + Cash to the White Sox
When is the deadline? 3pm est?

Ken Griffey Jr. + Cash to the White Sox
I'll give KW the benefit of the doubt. We've all doubted him more than agreed with him and he's given us a championship and 2 great teams in the past 4 years.

Ohman? Fuentes?
mlbtraderumors.com = Enquirer of baseball, 99% is all BS and they just repeat it from somewhere else. Manny is getting traded. Manny wants out. Manny isn't going anywhere. Teams interested in Manny. Minaya wants Manny. Manny wants out. Epstein can find taker.

Konerko to "get some rest for awhile"
Swisher isn't that big of an improvement over Konerko offensively. Are we talking .219 vs. .239? What is that like 5 hits more on the season? Both should be benched. I guess Konerko is a start.

KW to be on the Score at 10:30
I do think some people put too much emphasis on our minor leagues. Yes it would be nice to have tons of talent down there but the point is to be #1 in the majors not the minors. Some could say you need prospects in order to do that. The Dodgers, best prospects in my opinion, are proof the two aren't related.

Crede to DL, Fields Called Up, Loaiza Released
I bet Fields kills Robertson. He eats up lefties. Maybe his callup will wake him up a little. Boras will still get $10mil/year for a broken Crede somewhere.

Sox Interested in Duchscherer
QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jul 24, 2008 -> 10:22 PM) The crazy trade scenarios you just suggested are straight out of an Xbox I was actually only serious about the LaRoche + Lowe for Cabrera + Logan, then I was joking. The odds of one deal are slim let along 3 huge deals.

Sox Interested in Duchscherer
BTW, I don't ever remember a rumored Sox deal that actually went down, so I doubt this happens. Quentin: Under the radar Swisher: Under the radar Cabrera: Under the radar Thome: Under the radar Floyd: Under the radar Danks/Masset: Under the radar Thornton: Under the radar Freddy Garcia: Under the radar Does anyone ever remember hearing rumors about any of these? Just curious.

Sox Interested in Duchscherer
If we got Duchscherer would we assume that Contreras is out of the rotation? I'd rather we went after Lowe in a deal that would also net us LaRoche. Any takers for Logan + Cabrera for Lowe and LaRoche? then Poreda + Fields for Duchscherer then Vazquez to Mets for prospects then prospects to Orioles for Roberts This is so easy Buerhle Floyd Danks Lowe Duchshcerer wow

Dodgers Showcasing Andy LaRoche
I like the idea of trading Fields and letting Crede walk, and trading for LaRoche as the long term replacement. Fields stock is probably worth more than LaRoche despite a bad year in AAA this year. How about Fields + Haegar for Street, Broadway/MacDougal for LaRoche. Think I'd get any bites?

Trade Winds Catch All
QUOTE (BlackBetsy @ Jul 19, 2008 -> 01:11 PM) Joe Sheehan of Baseball Prospectus likes Brian Roberts to the White Sox. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=7820 I don't like this deal unless it's accompanied by sending Orlando Cabrera out of town (Dodgers, maybe, for a prospect) if he walks as a FA don't we get 2 draft picks?

White Sox Loser
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 09:27 PM) You fault him for giving his SP a chance to win the game by bringing on one of his best relievers? Thats just hindsight working against your intelligence there. Crede doesnt bunt. And Line through a sinker down and in, not even the two same pitches. I just watched the videos on MLB.com. Every homerun pitch thrown by the whitesox was right down the middle. You lose because you suck.

Thats just hindsight working against your intelligence there. Crede doesnt bunt. And Line through a sinker down and in, not even the two same pitches. I called it when he took Danks out that the bullpen would blow it. Crede doesn't bunt, Sox don't win. Learn the basics, Baseball 101.

White Sox Loser
Danks should have never been pulled. He was pitching great and only had 85 pitches thrown. Bad move Ozzie. Crede should have bunted Swisher over. Bad move Ozzie. How many times did the hitters choke with a runner on 2nd and less than two outs? Hitters sucked. Linebrink, tied game, bottom of the nineth, two straight fast balls, second one leaves the yard for a walk off homer. Linebrink doesn't learn.

Konerko needs to be benched/traded
The Sox are winning right now with their 1-4 hitters hitting a combined .212. If they combine to finish the season with .280 averages then that means they'll combine to hit .289 for the rest of the season, which is pretty good. This doesn't even take into consideration RISP and OBP, which are more important that avg. I think the hitting is fine. I just hope the pitching and defense hold up. That's what will make or break us, not hitting.

2B Thoughts
I hate Uribe. Hate him. But if we are winning right now then you might as well leave it be. If Richar heats up then bring him up, send Ramirez down and see if Richar can out perform Uribe. If Uribe would end the season with a .250 average and 500 ABs then he would have to hit .263 for the next 440 ABs which isn't bad for a # 9 hitter. We'll see if he can hit .250 though. I would like to see some Uribe quotes back when we traded for OCab. He was so mad then, and now he is really proving himself.

White Sox Loser
I blame Guillen for last night. Everyone knows relievers are less affective when they pitch too many nights in a row. Last night was a perfect example. Jenk's curveball look like meat and it's probably because it was his third straight night of pitching. Guillen needs to realize that Jenks doesn't have to close every game in every save situation. This isn't a fantasy league team. Linebrink pitched good but it was his third night in a row too and we don't have any days off anytime soon. Thornton has look great the past few times he's been out and he hasn't pitched much all year. But of course he only faces one batter, a lefty. Boone should have come in to pitch the 7th, Dotel the 8th and Thornton the 9th. A good manager learns to utilize all of his players. Not the same players over and over in the same situation.

How about them Royals
They have two starters that are 3-0 and have sub 1 ERAs. That is impressive. As much as I want the Whitesox to win, I wouldn't mind at all if they finished second to the Royals. It's always nice to see a team that struggles for so long finally get their time at the top.
