  1. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 12:37 PM) Does Allstate Arena have enough space to support a second team temporarily? They can seat 17,500 for basketball. So, even if Chicago is a "holding spot" until the move elsewhere (within chicago or elsewhere), I could see them housed there. but long term? They need a bigger arena IMO.
  2. Could the Hornets play at All-State? It holds 17500 for basketball. (There's no way the Bulls let anpother NBA team into the UC)
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 07:24 AM) What connection does he have to NOLA, or to other cities that might want an NBA Team? I thought Oracle was mostly Bay-Area based The Score just reported that a newspaper report says that the Hornets may be relocated... and CHICAGO is one of the 4 cities under consideration. Never mind, it's not a newspaper, it's SI.com...
  4. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 5, 2010 -> 12:58 PM) SI_JonHeyman Konerko scheduled to meet with #chisox chairman reinsdorf tomorrow. Once they hug, thatll be a deal. Very close. Should be $13 mil per. :headbang It's Donkey Kong time!
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 5, 2010 -> 09:18 AM) Does it really matter? The chances the Heat aren't selecting near the bottom of the round during this time is slim and while those picks usually don't pan out into real good players, there is even less of a chance they could play for the Heat. First round picks sound real nice in the NBA, but when you are going to be drafting where the Heat will be drafting they will be guys like Mark Randall and Byron Houston. They will have an easier time finding veterans who will play for the minimum than finding contributors where they pick. That's a fair point, but it is staggering to think that if the NBA took two picks from the Heat and depending on who which they took, the Heat could have only two first round picks between now and 2017. (It should be noted that "The Big Three" contracts expire after the 2015-2016 season.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 07:50 PM) The Heat really don't have any 1st rounders left, IIRC, they gave up every one that they were allowed to give up through like 2018 while assembling their big 3. are you serious? EDIT: Here's the info on Lebron.... "The Heat sent Cleveland two first-round draft picks and two second-round picks, as well as a large trade exception, for James. The first-round picks could be between 2013 and 2017. The second-round picks are in 2012 (acquired from New Orleans) and a future pick acquired from Oklahoma City. " And Bosh... The Raptors reacquired their own 2011 first-round pick originally sent to the Heat on February 13, 2009 (trade of Jermaine O’Neal and Jamario Moon for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks) and Miami’s 2011 first-round draft choice (lottery protected). Between 2011 and 2017 they had 8 first round picks, and they traded away 4 of them. Additionally, the NBA prohibits trading away first round picks in consecutive years. The Heat traded away their 2011 pick, so they cant give up a 2012 pick. (Although, I wonder if a draft and trade might be legal?)
  7. I watched the original Tron last night for the first time. Premise- Great Writing/Acting - Bad VFX - Extremely dated, but i wont hold that against a nearly 30 year old movie. Overall, I look forward to Tron: Legacy where the graphics will be done "right"
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 03:32 PM) You're a couple days late on posting this. D'OH!
  9. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 01:16 PM) Bernstein stood by his stance that there are a lot of people who still hate Santo. He also added that people dont mention that a LOT of Santo's health problems could have been minimized had he taken better care of himself.
  10. The Cavs are looking into tampering... I've always said the 2008 Summer Olympics chatter between James, Wade and Bosh was tampering, even if it wasnt "official" tampering.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 03:05 PM) With the Jimmy V Classic coming up and the fact I have family members battling cancer made me wonder if you guys agree with conspiracy theorists who believe scientists/experts/medical personnel across the world are not trying to find cures for cancer. Almost every family has lost somebody to cancer. And yet no cure?? Conspiracy theorists would say there's so much money to be made by the medical community that it'd be a distaster financially to cure this horrid piece of s*** disease. Tell me there is no conspiracy and the medical community is really trying to cure cancer. You tell me why with all this money being raised yearly there's no cure in site????? Money != Cure You cant just throw millions/billions of dollars at a disease and cure it. It's just not that easy. My understanding is that each cancer is different. I don't believe there will ever be a single cure for all cancer. A lot of research is being done at universities, which theoretically have no monetary reason to withhold a cure.

  14. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 02:43 PM) Not at all. What's the worst that happens? QUOTE (G&T @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 02:48 PM) Reapply. You don't even know if they saw your resume. And I doubt they remember. Good points
  15. QUOTE (TomPickle @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 02:47 PM) It looks like he'll still be #44. Peavy is still listed as 44 as well. Could be an MLB datebase thing.
  16. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 02:45 PM) Pauly wont bat 3rd and Quentin would be your 6 hitter in that lineup. I'd also think that Alexei would start in the 2 hole with Gordo down in the order. Dont you want to go RLR in the middle of the lineup? Quentin at 6? ICK! (Sorry, I'm very anti-CQ) And I can see the Alexei / Gordo switch, makes sense.
  17. QUOTE (ozzfest @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 02:41 PM) What jersey number did he take? It doesnt sound like it's been decided yet.
