QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 11:24 AM) For all the b****ing about overtime rules, the Jets/Lions game was the first time in 11 OT gamesthis season, that the game ended after only one possession. I forgot the new OT rules. what are they again? -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 10:10 AM) Yeah, labeling sucks. Like the Bush tax cuts, right? what do you mean?

QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 9, 2010 -> 07:21 PM) . Add in the mandate and put them under a banner like "Obamacare" and the favorability goes way down. The GOP has spent the better part of the last 12 months tell out right lies about health care reform (death panels and "grandma's gonna die because she's not important") and using framing like "Obamacare" to try and destroy support for reform.

Andy Reid was a MASSIVE child... -
I believe I heard a scientist say these kind of collisions happen all the time in our atmosphere. This is just a controlled environment where they can observe them.

One of my co-workers just told me this story: Growing up, she lived down the street from Bobby Hull. The year Hull had his mouth wired shut, they froze over a park near their house, Hull brought a teammate and my co-workers brother was their goalie! He dad drove a bus for a good friend of Hulls and was with Hull in the locker room the year hull was wired shut. So, yesterday my co-worker gets a phone call from her son's friend... he said he was sitting at a bar with Hull and he wanted to talk to her. They talked for 5 minutes remembering the old neighborhood.

It's nice to see the Bears actually run the ball. The problem.... they still sucked at it against the worst run defense in the league. The backs (Cutler not included) ran for an amazing 66 yards. -

QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Nov 5, 2010 -> 01:55 PM) Rupert Murdoch donated to Hillary's 2006 Senate campaign. You'd probably be just fine. really?? That's interesting.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 5, 2010 -> 01:50 PM) I wouldn't mind if they had to disclose it, but the "beforehand" part bothers me, because it suggests the possibility of reaction by the company. I understand he violated his contract, but really, its a contract that could probably be successfully overturned in court. Of course, that might void the entire contract, so its not likely he'd go down that road. if he had donated and followed the rule, if MSNBC tried to take any action as a result whatsoever, I think that would be terrible. I'm not sure I;d want to disclose that I donated to a Dem if I worked for Fox News.

QUOTE (G&T @ Nov 5, 2010 -> 01:43 PM) Depends on the employer, but email is perfectly acceptable almost everywhere today. One thing I have been told is only send emailed documents in PDF format. Never in Word. I never email word docs unless it's a collaborative document.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 5, 2010 -> 01:28 PM) NBC's official policy was that people were not prohibited from making political contributions, but their on-air employees were required to notify management beforehand. If he didn't notify his superiors beforehand, he definitely violated company policy and probably explicitly violated his contract. There's no doubt he screwed up. I just dont like the policy. (Keith isn't a news host as most people think of it. He's, in many ways, a political commentator.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 5, 2010 -> 01:26 PM) If it can affect their job performance, then that might change some things. In this case it did not. He said he did not "privately or publicly encourage anyone else to donate to these campaigns nor to any others in this election."

Keith Olberman has been suspended from MSNBC for contributing to political campaigns without gaining prior approval from NBC News.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 5, 2010 -> 11:34 AM) Well, there's prosperity theology, which I find pretty abhorrent. But, basically, you find people using religious doctrines (or treating things like the Constitution as religious doctrines) to justify their pre-existing biases and beliefs, not to form their beliefs and morals and ethics. Everyone is guilty of confirmation bias to some degree, but some take it a wee bit farther than others. Anyone who believes in prosperity theology has clearly never read the bible.
