  1. I'm going through the process of applying for jobs. ugh. Cover letters... resumes... I;ve never had to do this before. I got lucky and had a job right out of college that I didnt have to apply for. yea, I'm spoiled, but now I'm creating a resume and cover letter from scratch.
  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 21, 2010 -> 01:18 PM) I always voted for the Greens for the water district jobs. I figure, its water, right? Seems like they'd be best suited to the job. Are you serious? I did that last time.
  3. Where's "I want to shoot myself" as an option?
  4. One story i read was that the Milwaukee Bucks could be near the top of the list to go. "the Milwaukee Bucks are at or near the bottom in the NBA in terms of the size of its market. And although the Bucks do not disclose financial figures, U.S. Sen. Herb Kohl (D-Wis.) has said for years that the team loses money."
  5. In the NBA, how would contraction work? i thought in MLB the league had to buy the team then shut them down. I dont knwo how it works in other leagues.
  6. The NBA is considering contraction... who goes?
  7. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 19, 2010 -> 01:18 PM) Barbara Billingsley was famous for not saying, "Ward, stop being so hard on the Beaver." But I like being hard on the beaver
  8. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" Congress shall not establish a national religion and shall not stop people from practicing their chosen religion.
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 19, 2010 -> 01:15 PM) Tom Bosley RIP Mr. Cunningham
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 19, 2010 -> 12:41 PM) Heard ZZ last night saying that after the Giants debacle, the Bears offense responded with a great offensive game vs Carolina. Had to laugh at that. Those words could not have possibly come out his mouth.
  11. QUOTE (Soxy @ Oct 19, 2010 -> 12:02 PM) Link At the link Christine O'Donnell asking where in the constitution is separation of church and state while looking smug. When the audience laughs she acts like she scored a major point. It has to be performance art, right? It has to be. OMG! I just watched the video. that... i dont know what to say. I was taught that in grade school. That couldnt possibly have been an act. She asked genuinely confused.
  12. Two new Stories: NBC’s Jay Leno Disaster Continues Into Current TV Season Blame Conan! Leno's Young Viewers Are No More!
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 18, 2010 -> 02:34 PM) Absolutely, he's TERRIBLE. Never says a bad word about anything relating to the Bears. Hell, he makes Chris Rongey seem like a Sox pessimist. ok, I thought maybe I was just noticing it. Good to know there are others. Could he be compromised by being paid by the Bears to host a show about the Bears show on the Score?
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 9, 2010 -> 06:33 PM) As far as the age difference and stuff. Is it a bad thing that I have a crush on the main chick from ICarly? Is that pedophile territory? Dude, why are you watching iCarly?
  15. Dose anyone else think Zach Zaidman is too much of a Bears cheerleader? He's almost always positive about the Bears.
  16. I just read my arch-nemesis was fired from Comcast Sportsnet for dating Nick Boynton. I smile.
  17. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 18, 2010 -> 09:36 AM) And how do you propose they do that? I have no idea. But they need to do something.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 18, 2010 -> 08:32 AM) Peter King felt compelled to start off his weekly column with the matter. The more I think about it, the NFL needs a lockout next year. Not to fix the finances, they need to address the severe head injuries that are going on.
  19. My wife's family does a "Haunted Hayride" every other year near Iowa City/Ceder Rapids. Tonight was the hayride, I had a BLAST. There's a narrator who sits on the back of a truck and reads from a script and there is a "spotter" who runs a spotlight to point out items along the way. There are various "scenes" setup along the route, including a haunted bar, a shipwreck, an alien autopsy scene, and a bunch of others. We had over 300 people come. The date and location is only spread by word of mouth, so I was very impressed. I was a spotlight guy tonight. It's cheesy and stupid, but it's good family fun... and it's free.
  20. I had a post similar to this a while back, but I have a different question now. I just found out that if I want to add my family (wife and two kids) to my insurance plan, it would cost me anywhere between $832 and $992 a MONTH. My employer pays $1330-1584 a month in addition to what i would be paying. So, for a family plan, our insurance company charges us $2162-2576 a month. That seems completely insane! We are all currently on my wife's plan and only had to pay an extra $200 a month to add myself and our kids (I dont know how much her employer contributes) There are smarter people here an I. Is my employer insurance over priced? This just seems crazy that our two plans are so different. Oh, and my wifes plan is head and shoulders better than mine.
  21. Cutler will start this Sunday. He had this to say: "There were some moments in the 2nd quarter [in NY] that I probably wasn't completely aware of what was going on.""
  22. Hub had a great point on Boers and Bernsie yesterday: ProFootbal Weekly had Clausen has a mid-2nd round pick. Kiper had him in the top 10 (i think).
  23. Looks like Mac OS 10.7 Lion is going to be announced next week.
