My gut says this is the North trying to provoke the south into attacking so the NK government can say on all their state run media how evil south korea is.

The NBAPA is 99% sure the NBA will lock the players out next season.

Who controls uniform design? The team or the league/jersey provider? -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 22, 2010 -> 01:06 PM) Yikes. And you're the I.T. guy at your work? yep. I have issues with their data plan pricing. It's partially that I dont have a lot of room in my budget.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 22, 2010 -> 12:57 PM) Thats pretty much a calendar function on any smart phone. i've never owned one *blushes*

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 22, 2010 -> 12:46 PM) It does this automatically. I have my calendar linked to my work Outlook calendar and it goes off 15 minutes prior to an event (default). You can change all of those options though, including ringtone and notification timing. That's just using the stock Android calendar. sweet. thanks.

QUOTE (bschmaranz @ Nov 19, 2010 -> 05:18 PM) Also you need to consider, where in Schaumburg could they possibly build it? there's isnt a lot of easily accessible land anymore in schaumburg. The new hotel/convention center took up a good sport. -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 22, 2010 -> 12:11 PM) There are numerous apps that take care of custom notifications. http://www.appbrain.com/search?q=notifications it doenst even have to be custom. I just need to know that it will make some kind of noise if an alert is set. I know i iPod touch does, but it isnt very loud

Quick Android question: My wife REALLY needs a PDA/Smartphone with a built in calendar that will beep and/or vibrate at certain times of the day to reminder her to do things. My first thought was a Droid (probably a Droid Pro). Here's my question: If you set a calendar event to notify you, can you set the phone to ring a certain tone when set to ring or vibrate when the phone is on vibrate?

I still say I dont think Childress ever wanted Favre to be on his team. -
Is this the place to say that Warren Buffett feels like he, and every rich person, should be taxed a lot more? He declared that trickle down economics hasn't worked in over 10 years. Warren Buffett: I 'Should Be Paying A Lot More In Taxes'

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 21, 2010 -> 05:55 AM) Than how do you know it is lame? I like the Potter movies and hated hated hated LOTR. you and I are in the same boat on that. My wife still cant understand how I could possibly have disliked LOTR.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 20, 2010 -> 04:39 PM) Absolutely, the film kind of assumes you have book knowledge at a couple of points. It’s a minor thing, but it’s a bit confusing. Ok, good. I thought maybe I was be a little too critical. Overall, I thought they did a REALLY great job at translating key point in the book onto the screen.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 20, 2010 -> 04:12 PM) I just got back from Part 1. That was absolutely intense; I really liked it, and apart from a few flaws found it to be consistently engaging throughout. A word of caution: this is absolutely PG-13 to the core. There were people sobbing in the audience at times during this movie. Did you have the feeling that if you haven't read the books, some of the finer points might be looked over by someone who has only seen the movies? I have no emotional attachment to the Harry Potter series (Harry Potter is my wife's obsesion), but . Oh, and .

No football games should be played at baseball stadiums... including the cell. Baseball stadiums were designed for baseball, football stadiums were designed for football. If there is going to be a college game played at a stadium in the city of chicago, it should be at soldier field. -
I posted this in the Films thread, but this seems to be the "official" place to talk Deathly Hallows: I did feel like the middle section was rushed a lot. it was very disjointed and frantic. Jumping from one scene to another with characters seemingly making revolutions out of no where ( ) and entire scenes were set-up by three or four lines of dialog ( ). I understand they had to do it that way. There's too much in the book that HAD to be wedged in. I felt like if you had not read the book you might not understand some key parts. and probably could have been left out. The best parts where when they slowed down like at (after the snatchers). Those scenes had some real depth and where fantastic. Overall, it was really good, and July is going to be epic.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 20, 2010 -> 12:13 AM) I can look at Emma Watson pictures online, don't need to see the movie. I've never really found Emma Watson all that attractive. she has her moments, but in general not my type.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Nov 19, 2010 -> 03:43 PM) Suburbs would not be good for the team and make them a redheaded step child of Chicago. I do think if they tore down and built a brand new stadium there, you would still have the fanbase occupying it as the allure is the neighborhood, bars, area and the Cubs as a team. While I've never believed that a team would fill it's fan base by moving to the suburbs, it should be noted that as best as I can tell only 1 team playes outside the city limits of the city they are linked to. And that is the Marlins who play in Miami Gardens. And, they are moving to Miami in 2012. The Rangers are technically outside both Dallas and Forte Worth, but they are right in between them. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 19, 2010 -> 03:38 PM) Could wear down the facilities a bit, but there's a lot of potential revenue and marketing dollars there. Plus, doesn't he get a cut of the parking? make the cubs use the visiting locker room -
