  1. If I am sending out cover letters and resumes, what is the commonly accepted/preferred model of delivery: E-Mail or Snail Mail?
  2. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 10:53 AM) Those 30,000,000 people without insurance obviously don't deserve it. See, our economy is really just a sorting algorithm for human value. Poor? Can't afford medicine? Well, you probably did something to deserve that! I've tried to think this out as a life long, social conservative Christian who has more liberal tendencies when it comes to government. Jesus taught "love your neighbor as yourself". He taught to help the poor and lame. He taught parables about the rich who hoard their money. The bible says "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus." But all I hear from these so called evangelical neo-cons is that people with money (those who can afford health care worth having) deserve priority over those who have nothing. I hate the argument that Universal Healthcare will create long lines and people will die while waiting for care. What they are saying, without saying it, is that people WITH good insurance deserve the care MORE than those who don't have it. If you cant afford insurance, then screw you, you're not worthy.
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 03:07 PM) ‎1. Google Maps 2. Starting address: Japan 3. Destination address: China 4. Check out instruction no.43 I was hoping it would say take a "slow boat to china"
  4. For my wife's birthday, i want to get our carpets cleaned (yes, it's an odd gift, but she will love it). Any suggestions for a company near Hoffman Estates?
  5. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 11:43 AM) As I said in another thread, Obama, Reid and Boehner have a choice. They can choose to be Gingrich/Clinton and get some things done, or they can choose to make it a fight. Its ultimately in all their best interests, and ours, if they work together. i would argue it's in the GOP's best intrest to stonewall Obama.
  6. To me, how the Republicans won the house is simple: Do everything you can in your power to completely obstruct the political desires of the opposition (democrats), scream bloody murder that the system is broken (even though you were the ones breaking it), say that if you are elected/re-elected you will fight for real Americans (while being the back pockets of big business), and continue to do everything in your power to completely obstruct the political desires of the opposition to the point where absolutely NO legislation to fix the economy is passed, there by sinking the President, and getting your man (or woman) in there in 2012. See, it's that simple.

  9. QUOTE (KipWellsFan @ Nov 2, 2010 -> 08:35 PM) First two ideas. Get money out of politics. Make Presidency stronger (ie line item veto). I 100% support line item veto... and a balanced budget amendment.
  10. QUOTE (KipWellsFan @ Nov 2, 2010 -> 08:32 PM) That being said, Americans do think government is broken, and they're absolutely right. Of course what happens tonight won't do anything to solve it. Exactly. I have no idea on how to fix it either.
  11. QUOTE (KipWellsFan @ Nov 2, 2010 -> 08:30 PM) Just don't listen to pundits. It's too complicated to be explained in like the minute each gets to explain things. Oh I know. I just find it funny.
  12. So, let me get this right, here's the narrative being given to me by the TV networks... Voters think government is broken, it's not getting anything done, so the best way to fix this is switching control of the house to the republicans who will infuse MORE conflict by completely opposing anything Obama wants to do.
  13. QUOTE (KipWellsFan @ Nov 2, 2010 -> 08:13 PM) Are these exit polls an average, or just from one source? I think all of the news services use a single service or a combination. If memory serves me right, MSNBC and CNN always have the same numbers.
  14. Colorado Senate Exit Polls Bennet (D) - 49.5% Buck ® - 47%
  15. Rand Paul strikes me as an arrogant jerk.
  16. Wisconsin Senate Exit Polls Feingold (D) - 49.5% Johnson ® - 50%
  17. Illinois Gov Exit Poll Brady ® - 45% Quinn (D) - 47.5%
  18. Illinois Senate Exit Poll Kirk ® - 48.5% Giannoulias (D) - 45%

  20. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Nov 2, 2010 -> 03:53 PM) Kinda like Obama? Although yeah, I would like for him to wait his turn, but not waiting behind Obama. As far as a Repub that may contest in 2012, I hope to god it isn't Palin or Huckabee. I would prefer Pawlenty, however you spell it. Or give me the fatman from Jersey. He would bring some fiscal smackdown to the office, for sure. Obama had 2 years under his belt before he ran. The problem with Marco Rubio is that campaigning for the 2012 presidential election basically starts in January/Feb of next year. He's have to be in office one day, then start gearing up fro the presidential primaries.
  21. Just so everyone knows, I am working on a Google Docs spreadsheet that I plan to share a link with everyone. It will aggregate some exit poll data to see just how close some of the races are. What races would you all like me to include? I have Brady/Quinn and Kirk/Giannoulias at the moment.

  23. My favorite part of the night is trying to extrapolate results based on the exit polls. I love it!
  24. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 2, 2010 -> 09:10 AM) Have they declared any winners yet? We're all winners
