  1. Obviously we all know that the network does what it does to get ratings and therefore $$$, but you can tell that although these people are paid, deep down they have a passion for what they do and I love that. If I ever have a skill worth using on that show I would join them in a heart beat. Unfortunately, Extreme Makeover isn’t in need of a Radio Broadcaster with minimal carpentry and design ability. lol
  2. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 3, 2005 -> 07:53 AM) She's the 'race writer' of the paper. I'm not sure if you follow her, but 95% of her articles are about racism. I see and call racism a lot, but a lot of the time she's really reaching for a story. You beat me too the punch. That is her MO. Two white guys could be arguing over whoe gets to change the channel ont he TV and she would find someway to spin it that the situation is racisit because black people cant afford TVs. When I flip through the Sun-Times I skip over her immediatly. I have no interest in people like that.
  3. Beastly, I agree with you on a lot of what you said. I am conflicted. As much as Mac Jurko and Harry fight and argue of air, they make one hell of an on-air show. I think Mac knows that, which would make it hard for him to leave. Also, I am conflicted as to whether he should go to the Score simply because as a former intern I know there is a lot of crap that goes on around there. I have never been at 1000, but a friend of mine interned there for over a year (the Miracle Intern) and didn’t want to leave, but had to because he stuck around AFTER his internship because they promised him a job. It never happened because they refused to pay. So, both stations are pretty bad internally in my opinion. As for the "young guys", going with an all young lineup will kill that station. To me, I dont like listnening to Carman and Defalco simply because it sounce like a more advanced college show. All the talk about hot chicks and their latest party, I dont care for that at all. I think strong ratings for Boers and Bersie in the last book shows that.
  4. Mad props to Bud for finally showing he has some nuts.
  5. What would the new Score line-up be be if they DID land Danny Mac? My projections: 6-10 Mike North morning Show. (This is going to be here for a while since Pappy has such a lucratice contract.) 10-2: JHood and Dan Bernstein. (They would work well together. Hood was a former BandB producer.) 2-6: Doug Buffone, Danny Mac, and Terry Boers. 6-10: Murph (He recently signed a new contract. So, he will be there for a while or until he quites. If the Score lands the White SOx, then he will only be heard over the winter) Who is gone: Rick Telender. That was a bad idea by Paul Agasee. He will be launched. Mully will do fillins like he used to do.
  6. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 12:08 PM) I am not sure about the contracts of Jurko and Harry. I could see Jurko with Mac, but Harry won't leave AM 1000. In the end, if Mac ends up at the Score, I see him with one or two totally new partners. Jurko and Harry signed new contracts within the last year or so. SO, they cant leave anytime soon.
  7. Oh this should be good. i cant wait to see those.
  8. It is my mistake as well. I am still getting used to some of these new boards.
  9. Where did my Zambrano getting ejected post go?
  10. You sir are absolutely right. I dont have Beef sandwiches enough.
  11. He just got ejected fromt he Cubs game by umpire Tim Welke. Is he ever going to learn to shut his big yapper? (Ok, he was ejected this time for throwing at a batter, but still.. DAMN!)
  12. Everyone knows that he would love to go back to communism if he could. In general, Russia would go back if it weren't for the strong backlash they would recieve from the US and other world powers.
  13. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 08:33 PM) They'd run circles around just about anyone. But they arent ESPN analyists. So, obviously their opinions arent as informed or as important. ESPN, after all, is the world wide leader in sports. They only hire the best, most informative, and most experienced people around.
  14. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 08:32 PM) He had a career .258 average. Impeccable qualifications for an ESPN analyst. WOW! We think a like. lol
  15. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 08:21 PM) Harold Reynolds? What makes this guy qualified to discuss baseball? What did he ever win or accomplish? Well obviously his .256 BA over 12 seasons with 21 career homers and 353 RBI (57 a season) make him the idea baseball analyist. I bet that if you took Roony and Farmer and put them in a room with the BBTN guys, those two would run curcles around the cast of clowns from BBTN.
  16. Comcast is back to being ok. PS: Listen to that croud!! They are REALLY into it. ROCK ON!!!!
  17. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 03:08 PM) ON TO OAKLAND! Does my best impression of a ESPN analyist:Sox still wont make the playoffs
  18. We made the front page of MSNBC.com!
  19. My major problems with people like him is that they base their entire opinion on a few highlights they see every night and they have so many teams that they need to cover that they cant possibly understand every team. Therefore, I take little to no stock into what nationa "experts" say about a team. That applies to Fox/ESPN announcers in football and baseball. There are so many times they say something and state it as fact, but any person who has seen at least one full game knows it's flat out wrong. My $.02 is that you shouldnt really be bothered by what the nationa guys are saying.
  20. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) How offensive and appaling!!!!!!!! any pics??
  21. QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 07:23 AM) There are, however, many historians that say that the prophecy foretold the end of the CHURCH, not the end of time. Giddyup. That's what i tend to believe as well. i take this whole thing with a grain of salt to begin with, but if I WERE to believe it, i woult believe it is the end of the church. I can easily see the church falling apart int he not to distant future especially if a pope is elected that leads the church in the wrong direction.
  22. QUOTE(whitesoxfan56789 @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 06:47 PM) http://www.catholic-pages.com/grabbag/malachy.asp You got me interested and i found this site that lists what that guy predicted and how alot of the popes were similar. And wasnt some Italian guy one of the guys people thought could win. I hope he doesnt get picked next time THat was one of my sources. How old is this Italian guy? I ask because the new Pope is 78 and I am giving him about 5 years to live. I may be wrong, but he is old and may not be around too long. So, if the Itialan guy is younger, he may still be alive when this pope dies and if he was a front runner now, he may be then as well.
  23. QUOTE(whitesoxfan56789 @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 06:36 PM) Interesting, huh?
  24. As many of you know, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger of Germany was elected to be the successor to Pope John Paul the II and has chosen the name Pope Benedict XVI. A few months ago I came across the apocalyptic predictions of St. Malachy O Morgain. I collected the following from a few sources, so if it doesn’t sound like the way I would write, it isn’t. I am copy and pasting. Let the record show, I read these sources BEFORE the election of the current pope and they have not changed since then. What follows is very simply quite astonishing. Malachy O Morgain (1094-1148) was an Irish priest and seer who foretold the identities of 112 Roman Catholic popes, from the reign of Celestine 11 in 1143 to the present time and beyond. But not far beyond. According to St. Malachy, whose predictions have proven amazingly accurate so far, only two popes will succeed John Paul II. St. Malachy did not name the popes specifically, however Malachy included a single line in Latin identifying a characteristic of each pope that can be loosely interpreted, but his prediction of Pope John Paul II’s successor is almost amazing! According to his biographer St. Bernard of Clairvaux, in his book "Life of Saint Malachy," the saint was known to have the gift of prophesy and had even predicted the exact day and hour of his own death. While in Rome in 1139, Saint Malachy is said to have gone into a trance and received a vision in which he foresaw all the popes from the death of Innocent II until the end of time. John Paul II s successor is called "Gloria Olivae," or "glory of the olive." Traditionally, the olive branch has been associated with peace, but in both the Old and New Testaments it also serves as an emblem for the Jews. Putting the two together, some commentators believe that the reign of this pope will be a peaceful one during which the prophesied conversion of the Jews will take place. However, Malachy’s description may instead refer to St. Benedicts 6th century prophecy that a member of his order will lead the Church in its fight against evil just before the Apocalypse. The Benedictine Order is known by another name: Olivetans. The new Pope is Pope Benedict XVI. Take from it what you want. But you have to admit that is rather interesting……..
