  1. So Fox IS picking up the Family Guy huh? Very interesting. It was my understanding all the new episodes were going to air on cable. But putting it back on Fox is sweet!
  2. DO you get to sleep with the new wife? Just askin
  3. no no. you are missing the idea. The 5 teams I have listed have thrown a perfect game AND have had a perfect game thrown aginst them. Over all, there have been perfect games thrown by 12 differant teams in the modern era.
  4. Did you know: The White Sox, Rangers, Angels, Oakland/Philadelphia A's, and Dodgers have all thrown perfect games and have had a perfect game thrown against them. Edit: Sorry, I had to change the post. Originally I thought it was just 3, so I thought it was a cool question. Then the closer I looked at the list, i realized there were more, so it didnt seem so exclusive anymore.
  5. Interesting point. If we could get Colorado to eat 2-3 million of Heltons contract each year, and give them Konerko and a couple of prospects, then it might work. I dont think Lee would be included in the deal. Coors field is WAY too big for him to cover. They need fast guys out there. I still think Lee is the Sox DH in training. Once Frank leaves, Lee will move to DH (assuming he gets out of this funk and hits like he did last year)
  6. While I like the idea of Helton playing for the Sox, I worry about how much Coors Field and the thin air of Colorado has padded his numbers. He has 226 career homeruns. 137 of those have come at home in 520 games (.263 per game). He has 89 HRs in 498 games on the road (.1787 per game). Over the course of an entire season NOT played in Colorado, he would bat about .294 with 29 HRs. It should be noted, however, that he does get about the same amount 2Bs and BB on the road as he does at home. Over all, would he be an upgrade over Lee or Konerko, absolutely. But for the price he is going to be payed, I worry.
  7. Let's also not forget that they have SEVERAL media conduits, so they can spin it anyway they want and get the masses to believe it. Because, after all, the media is supposed to report the truth so people believe what they are told. When the MEDIA is allowed to spin it then they will get the masses to believe it. I just HOPE the other 2 newspapers in town do a bang up job in gathering fact and get the truth out there.
  8. Prior to the last Collective Bargaining Agreement, there were talks about removing compensation picks, being able to draft picks, and make the draft a world wide draft. Unfortunately, to get the deal done to avoid a strike all those ideas had to be thrown out and they went back to the old system. In the CBA I would bet at the least the world wide draft will be instated.
  9. Dan and Terry are ripping the Cubune over their coverage of the Shooting.
  10. I think from now on, ALL crimes and murders should include Name, age, where they are from, and what baseball team they support. I promise you that a LOT of crimes are commited by Cubs fans. Let's not forget the CUBS fan who ran on the field at Comiskey.
  11. I have an interesting note. I was listening to ESPN 1000 last night when the story broke. THey had some details, but not a lot. So, i turned to the Score and to WGN (the HOME of the Cubs) to see if they had no info. They didnt even MENTION it for over 20 minutes if not longer! (I had to leave my car, so I couldnt listen anymore) ESPN 1000 really is first for sports. And on another note: Anyone notice the Cubune had NO mention of the shooting on the front page? Add to the fact that their Radio home didnt mention it really does add credibility to the beliefes about how the Cubune always tries to spin the Cubs in a good way. nothing negative is ever writen.
  12. I was driving my parents to the airport this morning (they are both Cubs fans) and I turned to my dad and said, "I dont want to hear that Comiskey park sint safe. We havent had a faital shooting in a while."
  13. I was talking with my dad earlier and I thought the EXACT same thing. If youa re going to advertise on the field, paint it in center or something
  14. I have an old AIM account I want to get rid of, but everywhere I have looked i cant see how to delete it. Any idea how?
  15. That's pretty slick. That is REALLY going to rejuvinate the Southside.
  16. Maybe the Sox were being progressive. You never know. The City is expanding south. So, in 30 years, we may be facing the new CHicago skyline
  17. I just noticed something. On the Northside, they got ride of those ugly walking ramps. What gives this credibility as being what WILL hapen to the park, is the inclusion of all the other changes that were made this offseason. Are those only only pics they had posted? Or are those the oonly ones you could find?
  18. Those were the pics that were accidently posted on the renovators website a while back? If I remember correctly, last year the Score got a hold of those pics and North was talking to Reinsdorf about it on air then all of a sudden they went away from the website.
  19. While I like the concept, the site as a whole just looks kind of funny. I cant explain it. i just think the way the park is flanked by buildings and the overall dimesnsions fo the park. Just looks Odd.
