  1. Rotoworld said he wasn't demanding a trade, but would prefer to be moved so he can get into the majors instead of being stuck behind Thome.
  2. What spokesman from the White Sox was interviewed for this article? This is how the writer feels given his history and presence in the club house. Hardly a White Sox spin. The Southtown has had it's fair share of criticism as well. They call it as they see it, and not what the Sox want to say.
  3. It's been talked about before, but it's natural to bring up the issue AGAIN because the guy was just traded. The information is relevant at this juncture, thus an article about it. Some people think everything is a conspiracy theory.
  4. This has been talked about before. Nothing new about Carlos. You guys should read more.
  5. Granted it's still all speculation, but Willie Harris would probably need to added to the trade. The Sox have been rumored to be interested in Alex Cora of the Dodgers, which would make sense, but who really knows what is going on at this point. Wait and see.
  6. Speedy, good defender, and cheap.
  7. Not necessarily, Oakland is always in favor of reducing payroll, which this move certainly does. Maybe a throw in or someone, but not Anderson/Sweeney/ or McCarthy.
  8. Suppoedly Billy Beane love Pod as well.
  9. He's 25, and the reason he's still in the minors is because there's a guy by the name of Jim Thome in his spot. Kind of how Gload was stuck behind Grace and Helton, and he turned out to be a pretty good player when given the opportunity. Maybe he's not worth Garland, but if we have Burnett and Clement, I'd be willing to part with him, and I'm pretty certain it would be enough to get a deal done. Probably won't happen, but it's not a terrible idea assuming the rest unfolded as wanted.
  10. Wonder if we were cool enough to trade PK to the Marlins for AJ and Garland to the Phillies for Ryan Howard, and were still able to afford Clement and possibly a second baseman in Polanco or Cairo? Whack! Back down to earth.
  11. Maybe this guy then. Ryan Howard - 1B - PHI Ryan Howard isn't making any demands, but he hopes the Phillies will trade him to a team that will allow him to play. Howard is already 25, so another year in the minors probably isn't going to help his stock any. Unfortunately for him, the Phillies have already fulfilled their major needs for 2005. They aren't likely to upgrade over Kenny Lofton and Cory Lidle now. Dec. 14 - 4:53 am et
  12. Someone said Clement was just on 720 AM at 9 pm and said he was very interested in the Sox. Hopefully good news will follow soon.
  13. Well I happen to think pitchers think differently, but that's JMO.
  14. I think it matters regardless of where you bat.
  15. Keep in mind that he had Craig freaking Counsell and and Junior Spivey protecting him in the lineup. With Rowand or Uribe hitting behind him, you figure he'd get some better pitches to hit.
  16. I hope it's with the Brewers and not Toronto, if it indeed has to do with the rumors recently being discussed.
  17. I don't think it's us, but if it is, I'll definitely take him. The Brewers deal would make more sense, as a cost cutting measure, for those who oppose it.
  18. Ya, or Perez possibly. Maybe Clement was a little unrealistic with what he'll be commanding, but we can do something with the money saved. I think the trade would work to our advantage in the larger scheme of events unfolding throughout the rest of the offseason.
  19. What if the deal with Brewers went down as said, and we freed up enough money for Clement, who may be holding out for the chance to not have to move? I like Pod and Ginter, they're solid players. Ginter would either be an option at third or second, or at the very minimum create better depth for the infield. Pod gives us a speedy CF who I believe will fall in the middle of his spectacular season and not so good season(while stealing a s*** of bases still). Rowand is a very good CF IMO, but with the three starters in the OF (assuming this trade happened, Rowand moving to LF), we would have a very good OF from a defensive perspective at the very least, which is the direction we're trying to take. So with that, along with Clement, for essentially Lee, I'm game.
  20. I think after getting fleeced by the Brewers, it changed how they thought trading was actually done. Either demand will fall, or we look elsewhere. No big deal.
  21. I love the part where he says we are liars, knew about the surgery, recommended it, and had all the medical records. Even Boras throwing in the email, lol. I'm glad Weil at least had the guts to admit the Sox didn't know because he didn't tell them. And the ultimate topper, I was waiting for the Sox to offer arbitration. Maggs, you are one funny guy.
  22. If you believe Ordonez, it seems as though he is confusing himself since he has become vocal. Maybe that's why he was so quiet during his tenure here.
