  1. It's great to see Aaron Rowand havin a great spring. I think this is the year he'll finally show what he can do. I wouldn't worry too much about Willie Harris. They had an article on Whitesox.com that was right on point. Media and fans judge these guys differently than the actual manager and coaches. We just look at stats. They look at things like, is whoever putting together quality at bats? R they workin the count? R they hittin the ball hard? You can be absoulutely killin the ball 1 day and still go 0 for 4...I think as long as Willie is doin those things the hits will come...
  2. Havin all these great OF prospects sure takes the sting outta possibly losin Maggs after the season...
  3. VERY VERY good points
  4. Frank is no doubt in my mind a 1st ballot HOF..The numbers speak for themselves..
  5. I agree this will no doubt push Willie to be better. I like what i've seen from Uribe so far.
  6. If you put in the work, you'll be rewarded. That goes for any athlete in any sport.
  7. Damn...Well atleast this is a reality check. I think some of us were gettin a lil too excited over the 4-1 spring training start...I know Ozzie is gonna be pissed with the defensive effort..
  8. This is gonna be a fun year. I can feel it..
  9. Nevermind. I remember reading about this guy now. Brainfreeze on my part..
  10. lol..I guess i wasn't payin attention. But cool...I'll check him out
  11. There's an article on Whitesox.com that breaks down the Minor League system. Here's what caught my eye...Cinderella Story When an organization takes a pitcher like Brandon McCarthy in the 17th round of the 2002 draft, it's a decision to select a big arm and see what happens. So far, it's been so good for the 6-foot-7 right-hander out of Lamar Community College. McCarthy made his debut in the Arizona League after signing in 2002, where he promptly led the league in strikeouts and finished seventh in ERA. He moved up to the Pioneer League in 2003, and showed his debut season was no fluke by again leading the league in K's (125 in 101 IP). It would be easy to assume that a big fireballer like this would also be among the league leaders in walks, but that would be wrong. In 179.1 career innings pitched, McCarthy has walked only 30 while striking out 204. Full-season ball will be a good test for the 20-year-old hurler, but he's already exceeded expectations. Do we have this guy? I've never heard of him...But from reading that it sounds like he's pretty talented. I'm assuming that since this was on a White Sox article that we have him..If anybody knows anything about this guy I would apperciate any info...
  12. Well atleast this guy recognized that we have talent. Unlike that f*g Sutcliffe...
  13. WOW..Other than Majewski, who has no chance of making the team anyway, everybody pitched well...I hope to god some of these so called "young pitching studs" we've had the last 3 or 4 years start to produce at the major league level.
  14. I'm goin with Rauch and Wright. Rauch as the 5th starter, then Wright in the pen. I think Schoenweiss is gonna be the 4th starter no matter what he does in spring training...
  15. I agree. The pitching staff is what i'm focusing on this spring. I think our offense will be fine.
  16. I've been sayin for the last 2 months or so that the keys 2 r season will be Garland, Harris, Rowand, and Koch. If Koch can pitch anything like he did in 2002 we have a great shot at the division title.
  17. I wouldn't make too much of Uribe's 0 for 4. He's a solid player, he'll be fine...
  18. DING DONG THE b**** IS DEAD
  19. R the Sox playin today? I just wanted to know..
  20. Tell about the gm in 2002 where we were down 8-0 in the 4th or 5th inning with Kerry Wood pitching and we we came back and won 14-10...
  21. I've never been this excited for SPRING TRAINING. I'm really lookin forward to see who steps up for that 5th starter spot...I'm gonna go out on a HUGE limb and say Danny Wright gets it...
  22. Uhm, Last time I checked Lonny Baxter was a RAPTOR. And as far as Q-rich settling for the 4.5 mid level exception, YOU'RE NUTS. He's averagin close to 20 ppg this year. He'll command more than that. And lets say there was a miracle and we could sign him for that. Who comes off the bench? Crawford or Q? I don't think either would like that idea...And the whole Paul Pierce thing is RIDICOLOUS. I know I probably spelled that wrong, but u get the idea...
  23. I'm not about to jump on the Ozzie wagon yet. But I definitely like what i'm hearing and seeing so far. I like everybodys attitide as well. Harris, Rowand, and Crede reporting early was very nice to see. Frank showin up a day early with no problems was great. Maggs looks as if he's focused squarely on this season and not worried about where he'll be next year. Even Billy Koch seems like he's been somewhat reborn.
  24. Thanks for clearin that up. I knew there was no way he had only 424 at-bats in his career...
  25. LOL...25 is old for a guy still in the MINOR leagues. I don't care what anybody says. Pretty soon he'll be 26, than 27...It's put up or shut up time for Borchard...
