Lol@Luol Deng not making the All Defensive team.

God damn Rose is good.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 10, 2011 -> 04:53 PM) That was a well thought out post which was totally worth my time. Um, Ok? What did I say that was wrong? Mitchell doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt. If you have to demote him then do it. He's not gonna see the Show anytime soon. Maybe a demotion is in his best interests. They started him off probably a level higher than they should've. He's failed miserably to this point. Personally, I don't give a s*** how he feels about it. Don't K at a 40% clip and you don't have to worry about getting demoted.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 10, 2011 -> 04:40 PM) The question is...which would be worse for him (mentally), the slump or the demotion? His mental health went out the window when he decided to make Rob Deer's plate discipline look like Ichiro's. Demote his ass if you have to.

Damn, Rock. That's a flame ass video.

QUOTE (bmags @ May 10, 2011 -> 03:40 PM) hahaha Not even I'm that negative. I see no problem pointing out any positives in this case. Do I think will truly get back into it? Not really. But I said myself that June 1st would be the cutoff point. No substantial improvement by then and I say blow it up.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 10, 2011 -> 01:33 PM) I can be harsh on KW, but any sane fan will realize that a GM will make a bad move once in a while, it's baseball and it happens. The best GMs make other moves (draft, trades, FA, international signings, etc) that pretty much cover up those bad moves. Exactly. It's the succession of bad moves that inspires the KW ire.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 10, 2011 -> 12:15 PM) Link Looks like Phil Jackson isn't ready to call it quits and might consider the Knicks HC job...here we go again. He's basically the Brett Favre of coaches. I've never really bought that he's done for good.

I hate trying to spell Iguodala. I always forget. But I'll use the 2 and the end from now on.

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ May 10, 2011 -> 11:44 AM) Kobe getting all first team honor is ridiculous. Just about every person who watches basketball knows his defense has been really bad this year. It showed throughout much of the playoffs. His defensive plus and minuses is one of the worst in the league IIRC. Tony Allen has a better defender than Kobe hands down. This is almost as bad as Jeter getting Gold Gloves year in and year out. Yup. I don't follow hoops the way I do baseball. But the two best perimeter defenders in the game this year were Tony Allen and AI. I say that with confidence. As my friend has the league pass and we watched a ton of games this year. Kobe hasn't been a great defender since like 2003. Not horrible. But not great.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 10, 2011 -> 11:40 AM) The 14th may work for me, after the internship but before school starting again. What type of seats did you spring for? For the 14th I'm pretty sure it's section 118, row 7, seat 5 or 6. The tickets are being mailed to me. I gotta check my email or whatever. But if you can go we can meet up before the game or some s***.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 10, 2011 -> 11:30 AM) Im trying hard to convince my friends that we should do the patio and ticket deal for $44 each for our group of over 20 people, unlimited drinks and food for 2 hours makes it easy to max out that deal. Sounds good. You plan on going to any games in August? I shelled out quite a bit of coin for that month. I'll be there on August 2nd vs the Yankees (my birthday), August 14th vs the Royals and August 31st vs the Twins. KW can't blame me when he eventually starts b****ing about attendance.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 10, 2011 -> 11:23 AM) To still get ripped off on booze? $3? I'm straight with that. I was at the Sox game the other day and I bought 3 beers for like $21.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 10, 2011 -> 11:02 AM) During all Tuesday home games, starting May 10 vs. the St. Louis Cardinals, fans 21 years of age and older can purchase Bud Light or Budweiser products at specific concession stands in the Bud Light Bleachers for $3. Looks like I have a legitimate reason to go to that toilet bowl now.

Also, Mike Trout is having no problems at AA: .313/.407/.594/1.001. He's 19!

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 10, 2011 -> 07:15 AM) Roy Halladay vs. Josh Johnson tonight Blah. That's boring. I'd rather watch the Ted Lilly vs Kevin Correia showdown tonight,

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 10, 2011 -> 10:06 AM) I don't know if they can possibly pass the Red Sox/Yankees in terms of draw...and there's an "if Stras comes back as himself and this time doesn't get hurt" in there...but you're actually on track with this one. That'd be a team I'd just keep coming back to on Extra Innings just to see what they're doing. They'll have the most star power. The Yankees will always be the top draw because they're the Yankees. But even casual fans will tune in to see Strasburg and Harper. And I didn't even mention Ryan Zimmerman. He's probably the best 3B in the game (only Longoria can challenge him) when he's not on the DL.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 10, 2011 -> 10:08 AM) I am thinking about grabbing him in a Keeper League with 5 keepers. Good idea or a waste of a roster space? If you can afford to punt a roster spot for the time being I'd do it. I did it with Strasburg last year and it paid huge dividends until he got hurt. Harper is the s*** and once he comes up (could be this year) you won't have the chance to get him again outside of a trade.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ May 9, 2011 -> 06:21 PM) The three top picks from last year's draft are going to be fantastic players. I wouldn't be shocked to see Harper in the majors next season. I wish I had a bandwagon gene in me. I'd love to be a Nationals fan right now. When Strasburg comes back and Harper gets to the Show, they'll be the top draw in the league, IMO.

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ May 10, 2011 -> 09:08 AM) I was playing with realgm looking at how Howard would end up in LA. I'm sure I'm screwing someone over, but I came up with a trade that might make sense for these teams. LA trades: Pau Gasol Andrew Bynum 1st round pick Orlando trades: Dwight Howard Hedo Turkoglu New Jersey trades: Anthony Morrow Jordan Farmar 1st round pick --------- LA receives: Dwight Howard Hedo Turkoglu Jordan Farmar Orlando receives: Andrew Bynum Anthony Morrow NJ 2012 1st round pick LA 2012 1st round pick NJ receives: Pau Gasol --------- LA would get Howard, and more athletic at PG Orlando would get a young big man, solid SG, cap relief, and 1st round picks in a loaded 2012 draft New Jersey would get a big man for Deron. This is the best and most realistic scenario I've seen. Everybody pretty much comes out a winner. But let's just hope it doesn't happen, anyway. Dwight/Kobe, even Kobe at this stage in his career, would be pretty filthy. I'd love to get Dwight out of the conference. But not to the Lakers.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 10, 2011 -> 09:49 AM) Which tells me that a very large chunk of those voters simply aren't paying attention. All defensive teams are not that much different than the Gold Glove awards. Allen and AI easily should've been on the first team. Luol Deng should've made the second team.

QUOTE (flavum @ May 9, 2011 -> 07:51 PM) Mitchell struck out for the 8th straight AB, and then popped up to the SS. He's improving. Trust me.

I'm officially done now. Kyle is cool and I can tell he's getting mad. Anybody who wants to say something hit me up in PM.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 9, 2011 -> 04:13 PM) Wow, just wow. As someone who is a minority, I would think you would have a little more insight into discrimination and hurtful words. I volunteer for an organization that works with hundreds of mentally challenged kids throughout the Chicago area. We focus on helping them through their adult lives since the state completely cuts off funding for them as soon as they graduate highschool. Someone as knowledgeable as you should know that there are varying degrees of disability across several diseases that effect the kids. I had the pleasure to listen to them give a presentation to several county and state leaders about the impact of the R-word on their lives and how its hurtful to them to hear it spoken. Most of these kids have the mental capacity of an elementary school child, but still can understand discrimination and can be hurt by not feeling like they belong. A public figure should never use a term that is hurtful and discriminatory when he is trying to put someone down in the way that Lebron was. If he used the N-word to describe someone who was lazy and stupid, I'm betting the black community wouldn't be too happy, nor should they be. You really should get your head out of your ass and open your eyes. I do have insight. But nobody is going to make me think less of myself. I'll do that on my own if I choose. LeBron is a f***ing idiot. I get that. But GMAB. You know how many people have use that word, like, all the time? Most don't mean anything by it. It's whatever, And I know you and I guess Kyle will disagree. But they don't realize that they're challenged. Do you really believe if you went up to a mentally challenged person and called them the R word they would say "hey, stop calling me that?" They don't know. That's my point. That's all I was saying. So stop trying to make a hurricane out of something that's not that big a deal.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 9, 2011 -> 04:09 PM) At this point, Im going to respectfully ask you to stop. My cousin lives in Misercordia, and I have worked around these people my entire life in volunteer work. Your facts are being pulled out of your ass, and your comparison to people calling you the N word holds no water in this discussion. It doesnt make it ok if someone calls you that for you to turn around and say other degrading words. This is a basketball forum. This conversation should return to basketball from this point forward. I'll stop. But let me just say one more thing. It's getting pretty ridiculous how sensitive everybody is. Kobe says the F word in the heat of the moment and he all of a sudden hates all gay people. It's just getting stupid. That's why I responded. But I'm done now. Back to hoops. Chris Paul is better than Rose. Bring it!
