  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 9, 2011 -> 03:57 PM) Doesnt change the fact its classless and disrespectful, especially during an interview referring to a member of the media. If an athlete or somebody of stature says something that impacts you to that degree ( I don't mean you. People in general) then you need to take a look in the mirror and breakdown what's wrong with you. And another thing: You said most mentally challenged people would take great offense to somebody using that word. False. I know for a fact that most mentally challenged people don't even realize they're mentally challenged.
  2. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 9, 2011 -> 03:30 PM) If Bradley didn't make $9M a year or whatever, I would have thought Kenny would take a chance on him, but I kind of doubt it w/ that pricetag. KW has failed enough at his occupation for the last 4 years. That would be another failure. Regardless of money. Milton Bradley has been a terrible baseball player for going on three years now. Forget about all the other crap.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 9, 2011 -> 03:32 PM) Yeah, that's not offensive at all. You guys are wound a little bit too tight. You know how many times I been called the N word? Oh well. s*** happens. LeBron was talking out his ass. He wasn't trying to downgrade all mentally challenged people.
  4. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 9, 2011 -> 02:55 PM) Of all the things to hate on LBJ, that he said the word "retarded" is really no big deal in my opinion...Haven't we all been guilty of that?I've used that word and believe me, I'm not thinking of mentally challenged folks nor do I have anything against them. Shut up you retard.
  5. QUOTE (JPN366 @ May 9, 2011 -> 12:53 PM) I'll shall b***h about it as much as I want, I paid to see it. More wind generated to contribute to a natural disaster. Keep b****ing.
  6. And another thing, Kobe is a class f***ing act. I was watching the highlights again and he congratulated EVERY single Maverick he came across. Since '03, when the Lakers go down, they REALLY go down. They've been blown out of every game. But he always gives the other team props. I respect that.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 9, 2011 -> 11:02 AM) the new collective bargaining agreement will probably squash those ideas. lol. Lakersground.net. Oh my god that board is pathetic. They think they can get anybody they want. To hell with reality. Apparently the Magic want Bynum if they have to trade Howard. And the Hornets are salivating over Pau Gasol and will deal Paul for him.
  8. Little off topic, but the Lakers are apparently the favorites to land Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, prime MJ and Wilt's corpse.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 9, 2011 -> 08:14 AM) I don't know if anyone posted this yet, but when we saw Felix in Seattle, the Sox had matched up with 9 of the top 12 Cy Young award finishers in the 33 games they had played to that point. Bartolo!
  10. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 8, 2011 -> 07:02 PM) Whats that got to do with Thompson? He was a tremendous pick at #61. Those guys went well ahead (except Wilson who scared teams off and wasn't picked till the 12th round) of where the sox picked. I'd argue the Phegley pick more as we could of had Scheppers. (who I wanted at the time, though I did like Phegley) It's not even Thompson. It's just I have no faith in this franchise to develop anything. Which is kinda contradictory. Because then I would have to assume that Scheppers, Trout or Wilson wouldn't do s*** under our watch. But that's just more proof of how inadequate we are.
  11. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 8, 2011 -> 07:00 PM) Gasol isn't a p****, he is more of a finese big man, but that doesn't mean he's a p****. That p**** helped the Lakers win two titles. And if you believed in advanced metrics, he was their most vital piece.
  12. QUOTE (flavum @ May 8, 2011 -> 06:48 PM) I'll give Thompson more of a pass. He's 19, and still learning. The key for him is to improve as the season goes on. Mitchell...I'm afraid this another football player bust. No pass from me. These buffoons are cheap and inept. Not a good combination. Just think: Mike Trout, Tanner Scheppers and Austin Wilson were there to be had. But forget about that. Lets pay a 37-year old, PED user 4 million dollars for a month to suck.
  13. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 8, 2011 -> 06:49 PM) Laker fans as a whole are an ungrateful arrogant and moronic fanbase...I was reading a few of their forums and they were viciously attacking Gasol as a p**** and Jackson as a has-been.All the while Kobe gets a free pass because after all, Bryant is the greatest player in NBA history. That fanbase doesn't deserve that franchise. The Gasol trade was what elevated them from a 7th/8th seed into a perennial title contender. It's amazing how clueless that dumbass fanbase is.
  14. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ May 8, 2011 -> 06:41 PM) Don't forget that Trayce Thompson had the golden sombrero at Kannapolis. four Ks in four at bats. Quite an outfield that Buddy Bell is cooking up. The wind generated between Mitchell, Danks, Flowers and Thompson's wiffs could generate a natural disaster never seen before in the history of the planet.
  15. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 8, 2011 -> 06:36 PM) When you miss one full year of action. (AFL be damned) Why he didn't start the year in Kanny I'm still baffled by. If he's this overmatched at high A then he's fried. I understand he missed a year. But c'mon now. Jordan Danks is laughing at his K%.
  16. I really wish the internet was as prevalent in the 90's as it is now. I went to Lakersground and there's dozens of fans blaming Phil for getting "outcoached." Are you f***ing serious? He's been to the finals 7 times in 11 years there and won 5 titles. WTF is he supposed to do? They got outplayed. Were we this spoiled during the Jordan era?
  17. Totally expected a loss after they tied it up. Glad to be proven wrong.
  18. QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ May 8, 2011 -> 06:16 PM) Good point. I am trying to learn more about the drafting and developing of our prospects. I didn't mean for it to sound like I was taking a shot at the Sox. Take shots. They deserve it. They have not come through in this department. Even marginally.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 8, 2011 -> 06:14 PM) How dare they not identify every player's future trajectory with perfection! They can't identify anything. This organization is clueless. Yeah, I know they're cheap. But you would think you could hit a HR on on first round pick in the last 10 years on accident. The talent has been there. We just suck. Simple as that.
  20. QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ May 8, 2011 -> 06:11 PM) Thanks, guys. How can we miss on so many guys? I know they couldn't foresee Mitchell getting hurt, but it always seems like we pick the "busts" Could've had Tanner Scheppers in '09 or Austin Wilson last year. But too cheap. Too busy handing out extensions to Mark Teahen and 3-4 year deals to relievers. And I don't care that other teams passed on them. This is the White Sox I'm talking about.
  21. QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ May 8, 2011 -> 06:05 PM) I might be mistaking, but wasn't Trout available when we drafted Mitchell? I remembering wanting Trout, but I can't remember if he was already picked or not. FYI, I would look on baseball-reference.com but my internet is acting up. It's taken me 4 mins to finally get this post submitted. You're not mistaken. He was available. And the Sox brass deserves criticism. Yeah, I can't really say anything because of the 20/20 hindsight factor. But those idiots get paid for a reason.
  22. That's Dunn from the opening series with Cleveland.
  23. Thank you, Lexi! I needed something. Mitchell depressed the s*** outta me.
  24. Thank god. I still expect a loss.
  25. QUOTE (DirtySox @ May 8, 2011 -> 05:34 PM) Relax guy. The draft is soon. We have a whole $2.5 million allotted this year with the absence of a first round pick. How the f*** do you K 5 times in a High A game?
