QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 17, 2014 -> 11:01 AM) Went to game. It was a lot of fun, will write more. KD leaving makes the team dynamic a bit awkward, but fairly certain this team will not lose as long as Anthony Davis is there. He will be best basketball player in the world, if not this year than next. He is incredible. I am checking the bulls schedule now for if we get Nola at home. No chance. Third best? Sure. -
Went to a party last night. Lots of younger folks (21-24ish) were there. Long story short. Is it me or are these words/phrases excessively overused by teens or people in their 20's: 1: "Awkward" - Oh my f***ing god i'm sick of this word. I must've heard this word 50 times last night. Anything that's even semi strange, uncomfortable, weird, etc, the word awkward comes up. 2: "At the end of the day: - oh my goodness. again. at least 50 times. 3: "it is what it is" - i wanted to shoot myself. i heard this at least 72 times last night. 4: "selfie" i will kill a small, defenseless animal next time i hear this word. 5: "I love my bf" t-shirts. wtf is this now? Is this, like, cool now? I saw at least 5 girls wearing these. i'm 31 now. am i just getting old?

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 07:31 PM) The thing is the Bulls are filled with ?'s too and not just talking about Derrick's health. The Cavs to me are the favorite in the east with Love. The Bulls being their one competitor and the rest of the east is irrelevant as far as actually winning the conference goes. Yeah, this. Though I do like the Wizards/Raptors. Their core guys are still young as f***, though. If they take the next step, it'll be real interesting. -

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 06:37 PM) I've said it before and will say it again, the LeBron, KLove and Kyrie core doesn't scare me even half as much as the LeBron, Wade and Bosh core did. Not even close. The Miami trio could play D, that Cavs trio, not so much. The Miami trio was guided by NBA top Don Pat Riley, the Cavs are run by a bunch of misfits. The Bulls are in the Finals provided DRose stays healthy. Meh. The Cavs, imo, are going to rue the day they traded Wiggins in a few years. But Love for the next couple years makes them the easy favorite in the east. LeBron is still LeBron and in his prime. Kevin Love is the stretch 4 of stretch 4s and a perfect fit next to LeBron. Irving is better than '13 and '14 Wade and provides something critical that Wade never could: 3-point shooting. They won't be elite defensively. But they won't have to be. A healthy Varejao and likely Marion addition would give them enough defensively to go with what should be a devastating offensive attack. -

Cavs need to win at least two titles to justify trading Wiggins away. They're going to so regret it otherwise. LeBron and Wiggins on the wings defensively would terrorize opposing offenses. -

QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 2, 2014 -> 10:28 AM) That allows for the heroic early comeback narrative Did PG sleep with your sister, get her prego and bounce? That was a horrific f***ing injury. If this happens to MJ in 1992 that would be the end of nba players competing in these worthless international competitions. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 07:04 PM) I know. I think Milwaukee just adds 50 pounds to an athlete. I can't find the pic of him and Chris Paul. I hope he can keep his weight in check. He's much bigger than Carmelo was at 19. -

Is Ventura the worst manager in the history of MLB?

QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 06:43 PM) Ventura isn't a managerial genius, but I think next year will be more important to win. They have Sale and Abreu, so they owe it to themselves to try to put a team around them that has some expectations to win games. This year seems to be a feeling out process with some new guys, a ton of injuries, and some guys that have no shot of returning next year. Ventura's key year will be next year. Accurate -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 09:56 PM) But he is. Not his fault the roster around him is horrific. Top 3 in PER, top 3 in win shares. At worst you can argue is 6th or 7th. There isn't anything reasonable to suggest otherwise at this point. Cleveland needs to do anything they can to get him and they know it. gmab. Kevin Garnett had mostly crap around him and had to go up against the shaq/kobe lakers, prime duncan spurs, webber/peja/divac kings, dirk/nash mavs, portland was pretty good from what i remember and still made the playoffs every year outside of a couple. I like love a lot. But he's become overrated ever since LeBron went back to cleveland. He's a net-minus defensively and doesn't do anything to make guys better around him. I personally don't give up a potential t-mac on offense, paul george on defense for him. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 09:40 PM) It's essentially never stupid trading for a top 5 player in the league in Love, assuming he reups. Love is not a top 5 player in the league, though. A top 5 player, I don't care what you have around you, gets to the playoffs AT LEAST once in 6 years. -

QUOTE (Boogua @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 08:54 PM) Sort of, but Bias was supposed to prolong the celtics dynasty by not only giving Bird some rest, but giving McHale some rest too. Also, bird had just won 3 straight MVPs and didn't appear to be on the downside of his career. Lebron, while still the best player on the planet, doesn't look nearly as dominant as he did a year or two ago. Especially on defense. The cavs should want to take advantage of the 2-3 more years that Lebron in his prime. If Lebron can change his game to play off the ball and can prolong his career as his athleticism continues to decline ala Kobe or Jordan then waiting might be the best call. It could be risky though. Yeah, I disagree completely. LeBron's raw fg%, ts% and efg% were all career highs in 2014. His playoff numbers were even more ridiculous. LeBron is at the peak of how powers right now. LeBron has already proven he can adapt to another ball-dominant guy in wade. i see nothing to suggest he can't do the same once his athleticism does fall off. Wiggins could potentially take the scoring load and defensive load off LeBron in a few years. -

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 08:15 PM) I firmly believe we'll be laughing at Cleveland in a half decade or so. Even Bennett is going to become a pretty good player I believe. We shall see. Cleveland can't get stupid just because LeBron is back. If LeBron is as sincere as he sounded in his letter, he'll be patient and not expect a grandslam right away. Wiggins could be what Len Bias (RIP) was supposed to be to Larry Bird for LeBron as he ages. Cleveland as is is a top 4 seed at worst in the east. Wait a half a season and see where you're at before making a splash. -

Just the site of Kirk Hinrich makes me want to regurgitate. But not even I will make a big deal about him coming back. He's only mattered the last two years because of Rose's inability to stay on the court. More Rose, less Hinrich, that simple. If Rose gets hurt again then that means a lot more Hinrich. Which it won't matter because the season will be over anyway. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 09:16 AM) I understand that, but if he nets you Love I would say that is a win. Now, if he goes WITH Wiggins I would say thats too much. I know Twolves are demanding Wiggins to make the trade work, but if Cleveland could manage the trade without parting with Wiggins and dealing Bennett, I would do that every time. Yes, I agree with this. I think that's what I meant to say. If Bennett just has a solid rookie year (12/8/1.5), then he's a legit centerpiece in any deal. After last year, there's just no way any team is gonna touch him right now. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 09:02 AM) Not Bennett? Really? Wiggins I get, but Bennett could end up being Darko part 2 Not when his value is this low coming off a disaster rookie year. Personally, I would wait to see how he bounces back. I know it's SL, but he looks like he's in much better shape and is playing with some aggression I didn't see at all last year (again, i know it's sl). -

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 20, 2014 -> 11:08 AM) T Wolves are brilliant. They've put themselves in a position where they have to get Love. Everyone knows they aren't good enough without him and the public speculation and the stuff like LBJ calling Love mean that Cleveland has failed if they don't get him. So what does Minny do? "More please!" Yep, just keep asking for more because CLE is backed into a corner T-wolves and brilliant in the same sentence? Yeah, I don't think so. -

Call him overrated if you like, but the guy is one of the best pure hitters of our generation. Well, to my knowledge, he's boned Mariah Carey, Jessica Biel and Minka Kelly. I hate him for that. Baseball wise? No. Dude is one of the greatest ever. -
